I thought I would begin this thread, so I can add to it, or allow others to do so. Figured if I got this one started it could not get taken before I could get to it. When I get a free moment I will add the figures I have here, but in the meantime, please feel free.

So the ones that I am aware of are of course the Carnegie figure, the Procon, the Shapeways figure, and thanks to radman I am aware there is at least one chinasaur, and also a version that comes in the Safari feathered dinosaurs toobs. Radman and postie also showed me the Expo figure as well, and I am aware Shane is busy creating a lifesize model of one. Is anyone aware of any variations of those figures, or know of any others that I can search for ? I have currently commissioned someone to paint a shapeways and a carnegie, and I hope to photograph the Procon piece monday for the thread.

Dedicated to those little ceratopsian beaked guys, the Psittacosaurs !!

Help me out here Postie, Radman, Boki, some of you guys with nice collections !!!

Awesome , thanks guys. So Collecta is what I am calling Procon apparently? I have the little figure myself, and am considering buying a group of six or so and having them painted as a small family group with modified poses and similar coloration , and then based. I like that Funrise figure, although the poor little guy looks like he is frowning. I also sent the Carnegie piece or Safari to Copper and asked him to redo the colors, so that should prove amusing. I think the figure as it is, is somewhat mundane and boring. Thanks for sharing these guys !!!

Copper's finished work. I keep looking at this piece and the thing that really strikes me is ...Carnegie sure obscures a lot of the detail in their figures with their paint scheme. Notice how the ears, nasal, beak and even eyes really stand out so much more nicely this way?Amazing work.

Copper's work?
Definitely Copper's work, although to be fair he is not finished yet, this was a work in progress tease...do you know which figure though?

There's the Starlux Psittacosaurus, and there's one in the small Panini figure set (if I'm correct) and I've got a nice tiny Psittacosaurus from a German set (sold in plastic eggs in the 80's-90's). :D

Unfortunately I'm not able to upload any images at the moment...

I was familiar with the starlux and forgot to mention that one. The other two I will have to google and see what I can learn about them. Would love to see them if you get things resolved and can get pictures eventually. Thanks for the great tips, gives me more searching to do and more little beaked monsters to acquire ...ha.

Weaver

Guys, I think I win the award for ugliest Psittacosaurus toy. He's in the front and kinda grey here. I know almost nothing about it aside from what the person who sent it to me said, " It is from a collection of toy dinosaurs that could be found inside stickers surpirse packages after the first JP movie came out." It is soft solid plastic with wired limbs that bend. It says on the bottom the genus but other than that... nothing. It's weird. I figure it's still needed here. Just because it's insanely derpy and doesn't look anything like a Psittacosaurus. XD

amargasaurus cazaui

Oh we love derpy here !! thanks for sharing him, add another Psittacosaurus to the pile !!!

I recently re-acquired this fellow to replace my newly customized one. These are starting to get scarce and a bit tougher to find. I waited a few weeks to see one listed for sale on ebay, other than in a lot which was priced somewhat absurdly.
I also wanted to ask ....is it common for some Carnegies to be very sloppily painted? This one I just got seems to be much better placed and painted for details compared to my previous copy. I think If I had owned this one beforeI might not have asked to repaint it. This one is actually very decently detailed compared to the previous, especially in the eyes.

I had hoped to see if someone would like to rise to the challenge and create this in plastic. I think the paint pattern would look as good wether using a Psittacosaurus or perhaps as another forum member offered (gryph) using a Safari Leptoceratops. If you think you have an idea for it, let me know via message. I would definitely like to have it done.

Here's a picture of the tiny Psittacosaurus from a set that was sold in eggs in the 80's- 90's (I got them in Germany). The set of figures was probably distributed by different companies, but one of them is 'Toys n' Things' from Hongkong, under the name 'Dinosaur World Surprise Bags' - I recently found the paper that belonged to one of the figures, but this kind of information is usually of no help at all when you try to find such a figure on ebay:

And another pic of the Starlux Psittacosaurus together with the Styracosaurus from the same company:
