Ah, finally had some time to post and revive my repainted thread ;D
Repainting figures is very similar to a fashion designer creating a new line of clothing.
For some, factory painted figures don't meet our taste, or do justice to the figures sculpt and design.
Sometimes, we have our own vision of how we want to see these figures painted.
So for the repaint artist, our beloved prehistoric figures are models waiting to wear his/her latest design creation.
I found that when I repaint figures, I tend to do them in groups. This actually creates an interesting identity for each group. I can almost always tell which group of repaints a particular figure belongs to by just looking at the color used and the style.
There are endless source of inspiration for repaint ideas, from the internet, books, films, and from nature. And the best part is, with only a very few exception, no one really knows what colors these prehistoric animals sported in real life. So you are only limited by your imagination.
Of course, if you are repainting for someone else, then your client may have their own specific idea of how they want their figures repainted. I have to admit that I am not that good at repainting or replicating an exact mirror copy of a particular illustration or painting, try as I may.
Anyway, since I don't have a repaint thread here yet, I am including some of my earlier works (those that I kept and still like, I have since repainted a few of them).
So here we go, Boki's fashion week begins.....

Lets start with the older ones first and save the latest till last >:D

Seen as a group, it makes for an interesting collection, don't you think?
I still plan on more repaints... as time allows of course ;D Hope you enjoyed the show ;D

:o  Wow! Your newer repaints are awesome, boki :D!
Love the Favorite Parasaurolophus ..... and the Carnegie Corythosaurus of your collection ..... and the Toyway Torosaurus ..... and ..................

brontodocus

Aaaah! :o :)
Great to see them all at once, Boki! 8) The new Carnegie Brachiosaurus repaint looks great (although I still like the original Luis Rey colour scheme). And your repaint of the Galaxy Triceratops shows what an excellent sculpt it is. :)

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a T-rex by Krentz? My friends all have Sideshow, I must make amends.

Excellent work Boki! How much does a commission generally cost? I have a few figures I wouldn't mind seeing with a different paint job.

Thanks everyone, glad  you guys like the show :))
As for commission, yes, I do accept them. However, the bad business man that I am, I have not really sold them. I mostly traded them, or if it's a small project, did it as a gift/favor. I do repaint for purely enjoyment, if others find and appreciate them and would really want one, I tend to just give them as gift.
If you are interested, send me a PM ;)

Okay, so here two more that I forgot to add ::) They also happen to be some of my favorites ;D
I call this one Prey mimic

The collection provokes an image of someone someday acquiring this collection and their puzzled expression....Lets see , this one looks alot like this figure, but it is not colored the same, and this one could be a Carnegie, but no, it is not the right color. I wonder what they are? They must be rare !!!!
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

Great Work, loving the WWD Toro. I need to get back into painting some more figures.

I can see a definite improvement towards the end. I like the Favorite Parasaurolophus :)

I forgot to mention that it looks like you put all the colors of the rainbow into the dinosaria

ZoPteryx

Great repaints Boki!  I tried to pick one favorite to mention, but ended up with about a dozen! :o  Do you think you'll ever run out of color schemes? ::)

Pachyrhinosaurus

These repaints look like the colourful array of tropical fish I see at the pet store. Most are better than the originals, with the therizinosaurus being one of them. I also like the carnegie brachiosaurus with its baby (what company is it?). The poses remind me of the old carnegie apatosaurus.

Wow! Just, wow! Thats amazing! My favourite is probably the Carnegie Amargasaurus repaint. It's just awesome!

Yutyrannus

I especialy like the Carnegie tylo, Carnegie icthyosaur, new Carnegie brachiosaurus, and safari mosasaurus :).

Blade-of-the-Moon

Ah Boki..you make Luis Rey proud..lol ;D

Some really nice pieces there..especially your more current pieces. Yet another member I need to commission something from.. :)

I like this one.

However i have no clue what species it is, or what companey made it.

amargasaurus cazaui

I keep wondering what it would like to group all those under a blacklight or something similar for effect? A massive group shot under a purple or blacklight type setting might really be stunning visually
