Each new prototype I see of this line more I'm confused about for what figure I should pledge. They're all amazing!
The Triceratops was the species I was less interested in, but now I've changed idea. I really like this model!

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

PhilSauria

Me buying the Triceratops was always a given here but that paint job has me looking forward to this one even more.

Shonisaurus

I am in favor of dinosaurs painted with realistic colors but sincerely I really like the line of BoTM painted figures with those fantastic and sub-realistic paintings.

His sculptural details are surprisingly good and I like his painting colors although I take it for granted (although I will never have security because I did not know them in photo or in person) that those legendary ceraptosides would not have those paint colors.

ZoPteryx

Psittacosaurus mongoliensis fully assembled.  Bigger than I expected, but then again this species was bigger than most of its relatives.

Also, uhh, aren't the hands on backwards?  Could someone on Facebook maybe warn him?

EDIT:  Someone already pointed it out on Twitter.  ^-^

Faelrin

I definitely want this one to go with my Microraptor/Forest display. Might even go well alongside the Zhenyuanlong too (not that I have it yet). Here's to hoping the hands get fixed up too.

Oh my he's really big. Kinda wish it was P. neimongoliensis instead, or any Psittacosaurus species that has yet to be represented in figure form.
Still, this figure is definitely a must have. Easily the best Psittacosaurus figure out there, followed closely by Safari LTD's one.

Also, David is fixing the hands

amargasaurus cazaui

It is a fairly decent representation of the animal, but the upper jaw and cranium should be much more robust, and the jugals look very subdued for some reason....I will definitely get one, but I don't see it as having any edge over Dougs models for instance.
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

Killekor

I'm really happy to know that the psittacosaurus is so big! And it looks majestic!
It's surely my favorite figure of the line. I hope that it's stretch goal will be unlocked!

Hopefully the painted figure gets revealed in a few days  :)

(Over the last week or so, I've become much less skeptical of this line (I'm considering getting the Zuniceratops once ED stocks it*), so expect to see me here more)

*EDIT: unless someone makes a better version for next year. Also, guess I should say the lack of accessory packs for this line is still a bit of a bummer for me; there are quite a few smaller ceratopsians that could be incorporated into the line that way.

Two days ago, Silva announced on social media that he's commissioned one of the original Dino-Riders package artists - Ezra Tucker - to do the package art for the Kickstarter Exclusive Monoclonius.

I wasn't alive when Dino-Riders originally came out, but I know many people on here were, so I hope this is good news for them  :)

It gives me great pride and joy to read David Silva's tribute to the legendary Dino Riders series. I don't believe any hardcore collector is truly "hardcore" (despite their claim and there are a few collectors that actively disavow themselves from DR for inexplicable reasons) if they don't respect or at the very least, own a few Tyco pieces. Here's the post:

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT: As many of you know, I'm a big fan of the original Dino Riders toy line. Well before Jurassic Park, Dino Riders was a significant influence for me during some of my most formative years and as I'm sure many of you are aware, much of what made those toys such a joy to experience was the package art.

If you've been following the progress for the upcoming Beasts of the Mesozoic: Ceratopsians Kickstarter (Sept. 17th), you probably know about the Monoclonius 'Dino Riders homage' figure that I will be offering as an exclusive for the campaign. And now, I would like to formally announce the artist whom I commissioned to do the package art- one of the original Dino Riders package artists, Ezra Tucker! It was such an amazing honor to work with Ezra on this project and to include his art in this toy line. Next week I'll be unveiling the piece itself- it is truly exceptional!

LeapingLaelaps

I've never collected anything from Dino Riders, but it's so neat seeing him working with one of the original artists and I can't wait to see the package art!

Faelrin

Dino Riders came out before I was born, and I unfortunately missed out on them growing up. In fact I didn't even know about them until I started getting into collecting dinosaur figures, after getting back into JP because of JW, and finding out about the blog. I certainly have yet to acquire any of them, but they certainly are charming figures, and I do regret not having had the opportunities in the past to acquire any of them.

So while the Beasts of the Mesozoic figures are certainly not any Dino Riders toy, I do think this is a wonderful opportunity to share and celebrate in its history and influence on various collectors in the community, aside from the wonderful toys themselves, by having one of the original packaging painters create a piece for Silva's very own homage piece. If anyone was not interested in funding the kickstarter prior, and its exclusive Monoclonius figure, hopefully they are now with this news.

I'd be interested in seeing Tucker do more package art besides the Monoclonius.

Jesus Christ this line is amazing.
Will David Silva be a legend more than he already is?

suspsy

More images of the "subadult" Triceratops are up on Facebook. Those colours look really good!

Juvenile Triceratops prototype! This guy is absolutely beautiful, at first I wasn't a fan of the colors but they're growing on me, and I especially love the markings on the face.

Flaffy

I really hope these won't be too expensive.
There's just so many great figures in this series.

Faelrin

It looks very good, but I'm still wondering how the adult will turn out. Just hope I can afford more then a couple of these when the kickstarter ends. Worst case scenario I add them on over time. At least the kickstarter is just about another week away now which gives me time to figure out how much I'll need to have saved up, the day it hits.
