For my money (and they WILL be getting my money), that is a great Triceratops figure!

That and the Styracosaurus will be ending up on my shelves for sure.

ZoPteryx

Wow, liking this one a lot more than I thought I would!  ;D  Also, does this tweet from David make it sound like it's going to be one of the starting species?

QuoteMatt Holt and myself teamed up for the paint on this one and it will be part of the main #Kickstarter campaign on Sept. 17th 2019!

Faelrin

Yes, it is supposed to be one of the initial selection's alongside the Styracosaurus, Monoclonius, and Zuniceratops. Which minus the Monoclonius, are featured in the new banner artwork for the campaign, which I'm not sure was posted yet, so I'll post it below:

Today's post is an amazing piece of artwork for the kickstarter exclusive Monoclonius, from one of the original artist's (Ezra Tucker), that worked on artwork for the Dino Riders line (I also highly encourage everyone to check out one of the link's below to read what Mr. Silva wrote about this):

I really hope David offers some sort of poster of that picture, it's absolutely breathtaking!

I'd like to see this artist do more BotM package art, please and thank you!

Oh hey, it's basically an updated, more realistic version of this:

Probably no surprise, given that the BOTM Monoclonius hommages the DR one.

Also: Using that one as my new wallpaper.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Faelrin

Oh wow it really does resemble the original Dino Riders Monoclonius artwork. I had no idea.

I too would love a print of this. I still have the one done by Mark Schultz from the first kickstarter (and framed of course).

Really wish that Tucker had included a pterosaur flying in the background!

Blade-of-the-Moon

its a long shot but i would really dig some armor as a stretch goal lol

amargasaurus cazaui

I think I might splurge on the juvenile triceratops...it isn't perfect, but I like the colors and patterns and the overall model doesn't miss by much
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

Killekor

I really like the package art of the Monoclonius!
It is my favorite one of the entire line, mainly because it looks more like a drawing than a graphic art. And the Monoclonius itself it's my favorite model of the line, with the Styracosaurus and the Centrosaurus.

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Man, just when I was considering switching to the small Triceratops, they pull me back to Monoclonius with this box art.

That would be amazing, but I doubt they could make it happen without a license...

What about some different kind of saddle/armor that's not a direct DinoRiders ripoff? And a little generic shark-headed action figure? ;)

I honestly have no idea who has the DR license at his point. I do recall a new movie or tv series being talked about years back.  I would be happy with something similar or in the same vein. I think others have done that imaginext and a few Asian companies.

That's why they can come off! lol

Honestly I find a lot of beauty in say "blades" of various kinds, but to each their own.  To semi-quote Dr Evil.. "Dinosaurs with frickin' laser beams! "

Doesn't Mattel have it? I could have sworn I heard something about that a while ago.

That would be great if so.

Appalachiosaurus

I wonder why he decided to give the Triceratops a fully keratinized head while all the others are scaly.

IIRC Mattel bought Tyco, which would have given them the license. They've sometimes homaged Dino Riders in their Imaginext line, with more than a few dinosaurs in futuristic armour popping up. Obviously they've got enough dinosaurs on their plate with the Jurassic World license, but with the success of that I wouldn't be surprised if a Dino Riders revival pops up at some point.

If they own the property, I would bet they're at least exploring the possibility of producing or at least licensing out a movie or TV show or something. But maybe they don't want to compete with their JW line, which despite being more expensive for them to produce since they pay for that license, is more popular.

I thought I heard Mattel was in rough financial shape. Maybe they'll start selling off some of their unused brand holdings.
