My Atlasaurus and Deinotherium will soon be thundering to me from Everything Dinosaur.  Looking forward to their arrival in a few days.

Duna

Just received my Eofauna Atlasaurus (and the second Deinotherium replaced) and all I have to say is WOWW ...   :o It's gracile, elegant, the painting is awsome ... In fact, the neck and head are BLUE!  ;D I thought when I saw the pics and photos that the neck was black or dark grey, but it's not! It's a fantastic blue, I really like it.

I'll share some pics (sorry about the phone quality). If you want me to take a pic of the Atlasaurus next to other figure, please ask me! :)

It has a fantastic size. Very happy with it. Please Eofauna I need a Concavenator from you! :D

Shonisaurus

The atlasaurus looks amazing. By the way well detailed and well sculpted, the neck and head from what I see is how you say blue but the rest of the body is green, is that so?

By the way, out of curiosity, Duna, why did you buy a second deinotherium that replaced it? Did he suffer from a defect? I congratulate you for your new acquisitions of Eofauna are fantastic animals and this year Eofauna has made a group of very cool figures.

Enjoy them with great health Duna!

Yes, it's green!  :) I really think it's a amazing figure you must have in your hands because in pics it looks absolutely different: the head are neck are really blue and even in my pics it does not reflect the wonderful blue it has, somehow the camera is fooled by it and makes it look darker. So happens with the striped belly, in person it looks as it was a perfect 3D camouflage blurring the lighter parts and in the pics looks just plain stripes. I would like to congratulate the people that designed this painting, it's something you don't see every day.

Yes, it was a beauty but my figure had a defect: the left part of the head and trunk was not given the second hand of grey brush painting and looked just brown. As much I liked the figure, I wanted it perfect, and the defect was quite evident on light, so I contacted the shop and they apologised and sent me a second deinotherium along with the Atlasaurus they received on Monday. I returned the first one to them.
I agree with you that this year Eofauna has made us difficult to decide which of their three figures is the best. The three of them are small pieces of art.

avatar_Duna @Duna Congratulations for your magnificent new acquisition!  8)
Thanks for the pics too!  ^-^

So the Atlasaurus has its head and neck coloured blue. When I saw the original picture, I thought it was dark green, near black. But that is one very nice looking blue there!

Minizoo also has the Atlasaurus - AUD $53. I can't wait for an Ornithopod from them.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Thanks Concavenator, sure in no time you will have yours to enjoy. Another better picture to apreciate the beautiful blue color of the neck:

Wonderful!  ^-^
Mine will be here next week. I can hardly wait!

To my surprise, my box was waiting for me when I got home today.  What stunning models!  (I had asked Everything Dinosaur to hang into Deinotherium until Atlasaurus arrived.)  I want to see them now in daylight!

That yellow stripe on the neck looks out of place to be honest...

It must be said that my husband, looking across the dining room table, asked if the model had something tied round his neck.

For reptile lovers as I, that doesn't seem rare for me. I had 4 Crotaphytus collaris (collared lizards) as pets and when I saw the first picture of the model, reminded me very much of them. They had a beautiful and striking yellow and black stripe on their necks (yes, they look as if they have a collar tied, hence their name :D). In reptiles, every color is possible. Some species of collared lizards can also be sky blue and light green, with spots or not, so when I see those colors in dinosaur figures, I say: and why not? Surely browns and greens would be prevalent, but a hint of color may be also possible ...

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I'm glad to see the comparisons of the Atlasaurus as the one I ordered should be on the way soon

Thank you again for the pics, avatar_Duna @Duna

As for the colours, there's always going to be some degree of controversy, unless when dinosaurs which we have an idea of its colouration are concerned ( Microraptor, Anchiornis, Psittacosaurus...). I personally think the colours are very nice and natural. The yellow band is distinctive and it's not something that I would have a hard time imagining in a real, living animal. It has a more conservative colour scheme than the vast majority of the BOTM ceratopsians, for example (and it's not like I don't like those patterns, in fact, I  really like the colours they have been given).

Of course that's true - indeed, the parakeets in our garden (male ones) have very distinctive pink rings round their necks.

Wow, that looks very similar. Perhaps they were inspired by that snake's colours.

Duna

There is a nice entry in ED about the Atlasaurus and they show in two pictures the great difference in color in this figure with the changing light.
