Releasing this clip and then leaving us hanging is cruel :'(

Oh, super cool! That reminds me of elephants going deep inside caves looking for salt.

I love that the showrunners aren't trying to make nature seem more dramatic than it is. They don't need excessive roaring and impossible camera shots. Just letting the (CGI) dinosaurs speak for themselves.

Two more days after today my fellow paleo geeks. I'm hoping for Dakotaraptor and Rajasaurus to make an appearance.

New clip with Mononykus:

I love the barn owl coloration it has. So cute. The sounds when it breaks the wood are a bit over the top though. Sounds like something out of a horror film lol.

Edit: I also loved that Triceratops clip. I can't get over how real it all looks. Just incredible really.

No rumor just wishful thinking on my part

Quote from: Gwangi on May 16, 2022, 08:08:06 PMBeing both a dinosaur buff and movie buff I think it is so cool seeing Naish and Favaeru side-by-side. Crossover event of the decade! Add in Attenborough's narration and between the 3 of them it's like my personal holy trinity.

Funny that you mention that b/c I was just thinking about how Naish/Barrett's Dinosaurs: How They Lived and Evolved, Naish's Dinopedia, & AppleTV+'s Prehistoric Planet are basically the holy trinity of modern dino media ( https://twitter.com/Sophiesaurus98/status/1517847800406499328 ).

Quote from: Gwangi on May 16, 2022, 04:24:53 PMI've been gearing up for Prehistoric Planet with some other paleodocs.

Speaking of which, 1 of my favorite pre-PP dino docs is also narrated by Attenborough, yet doesn't get nearly as much love as it should. It's called Iguanas, Living Like Dinosaurs:

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I'm looking forward to this series so much, even knowing I have a lot of work to do next week.

Does anyone know how limited this is, like do you have to watch on the day and then it's gone or can you watch later?
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Halichoeres

No I think after the premiere you will be able to binge it at your leisure.

Fembrogon

I see absolutely no reason why this would be a limited-time release. Is there ANY precedent for a streaming service doing that? It wouldn't make sense to take it away when it can just sit there and keep garnering views like every other streaming program.

Halichoeres

Anyway I'm counting on being able to watch it afterward because I have to work late some days next week.

For it to be an Apple endorsed film, I would expect it to be permanent on Apple TV. If anything, I expect another streaming service to pick it up at some point which that would then be a limited feature.

Duna

I would expect BBC to broadcast it, and do as wonderful merchandising as it was done with WWD (which was everywhere: table games, books, figures, fast-food chain toys ...).

For those that don't have any Apple devices (like me) you can watch the documentary on apple.tv.com on your own browser (PC, phone, tablet ...). Don't use pirate webs!  ;) You can watch it for free for 7 days, now it's time to register!
But I also plan to pay at least a month suscription - only 4,99€ -(even I don't watch any TV platforms at all) just to support this incredible work, effort and money inverted. Let's make them know that dinosaur lovers have been waiting this moment for 22 years!  ^-^

You can register and watch the series here and enjoy the trailers once and again in full HD:
https://tv.apple.com

And in Spain: https://tv.apple.com/es

I've just registered! I can't wait!  ^-^

Concavenator

I certainly hope this isn't a limited-time series. I won't have much time next week.

Yeah, it makes no sense. Why would they limit their series to a particular time frame when there will be people that won't be able to watch it right away? A big part of the effort, time and funds invested in its creation would have been in vain. It would be logical if they simply let the series be there so anyone could watch it at anytime.

Gwangi

Thanks for that link H @HD-man, I haven't seen that documentary before but will definitely check it out. I still need Dinopedia but I already have (and read) Dinosaurs: How They Lived and Evolved. At the moment I'm reading The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs by Brusatte.

Well said avatar_Duna @Duna!
