Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Regarding the megalodon:
For me, there are enough differences proportion and fin shape wise to justify it being a megalodon rather than an upscaled great white.
The dark grey is bland, but serviceable. If it was another colour, maybe it would stand out from the other shark figures more.

I was going to say "Sorry Safari but this Allosaurus is way bette...Until I saw the measurements...Too small...Damn it!  >:(
Lisowicia...Would have preferred its cousin Placerias, and at 1:20 scale it has no place in my collection.
I already have the much better and bigger PNSO Megalodon, don't need this one.

Well, this seems to confirm that that leaked list or at least part of it is true, and judging by what it is expected to come, there nothing interesting for me since the Diplodocus will obviously be on the small size as well as the Mapusaurus since we already got a deluxe a while ago.

Which means that only the Badajasaurus and maybe the Fukuisaurus have a place in my collection. Meh, if anything less money to spend the next year which helps considerably since I have other stuff to collect and get figures from past years.

Sincerely, the collecta lisowicia supplies the absence this year of prehistoric mammals by this great brand in many years. Its colors surpass estemmenosuchus and even the great edaphosaurus of Collecta icon of prehistoric animals of the year 2019 and the history of the toy paleoart.

I know that I am very repetitive but I would prefer lisowicia and protoceratops without an articulated jaw and the same can be said of megalodon and saltriovenator but as the saying goes "where boss rules, he doesn't send sailor", at least he has one thing in his favor Collecta is that In its popular line, figures with articulated jaws, such as the allosaurus and the standard baryonyx, are omitted. At least Collecta has adopted a formula that satisfies us all.

On the other hand I congratulate Collecta for his lisowicia, protoceratops and saltriovenator for his articulated jaws since although I do not agree with that philosophy he does not notice the seams at all and that is a point in his favor, something that does not happen with the megalodon that unfortunately reminds me about the articulation of his jaw to the standard megalodon of PNSO, that does not mean that he is in the middle of toy megalodon figures, but as a collector of cheap PVC toy figures I would like them not to have articulated jaw and had a fixed base and I say it as always respecting the preferences of the vast majority of DTF members who are not supporters or by any means to my tastes and that I understand it at the same time, as I have repeated many times in the forum.

The badajasaurus and fukuisaurus would have preferred them with a Deluxe size and not with the respective XL and M size.

PrimevalRaptor

The Lisowicia is absolutely stunning, we need more Triassic animals and this one is a spectacular one! I also like the pattern a lot.
The Allosaurus is pretty nice but I prefer the Safari Ltd one by quite a bit, in the sculpt and especially the coloration. Still very nice though.
Not too hype on the C.megalodon, it's probably one of the best ones on the market, but the species doesn't excite me too much

I think all three of these toys look fantastic, especially the Lisowicia. Love the speckled pattern on its back. That one in the photo must be a prototype, as it doesn't appear to have an articulated lower jaw.

Between the Allosaurus and the Saltriovenator, CollectA appears to have finally done away with bases for their theropods. It will be interesting to see what the Mapusaurus is like next week.

Oh, and while I don't like to pour cold water on anyone's excitement, I think it's possible that the Diplodocus will end up being a repaint of the 2013 version. But we shall see.
If the Diplodocus does turn out to be just a repainted version of their old one like they did with some of their wildlife figures, there will still be plenty of good things to come anyway.I'm also curious to see how the Mapusaurus turns out.
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

Shonisaurus

Lisowicia and megalodon from Collecta has been confirmed to me by Collecta's company are two Deluxe versions (that is, large), the allosaurus is from the popular line of size L (large).

On the other hand I look forward to caviramus, mapusaurus and invertebrates. I guess the diplodocus will be a repainted version and I think it will be improved in terms of its painting.

On the other hand I hope that the prototypes of lisowicia, megalodon and caviramus (figure of which I am expectant) are equal in terms of the articulation of jaws with respect to the figures that will be marketed next year. I keep the faith. And I hope that the legs of the saltriovenator, allosaurus and mapusaurus are of a less rigid material than the protoceratosaurus, irritator or neovenator Deluxe because I honestly like toy figures with a material that is not brittle.

Anyway, everything that comes from Collecta will accept it without complaining and its figures are all great and if they are rigid and without a fixed base it is because Collecta is a brand aimed at an adult and mature audience to which I myself belong and will be welcome.

I love the Allosaurus, I like it more than Safari's. Pity that it is a Popular range figure, would it have been a Deluxe figure, I'd be all over it! Allosaurus is my favorite dinosaur, so I hope we get to see a Deluxe version in 2021 with the same design, same colour and same pose as well, I would love to see that.

The Lisowicia is wonderful too. It's a masterpiece just like this year's Edaphosaurus. Natural pose, and very beautiful colour scheme.Looks very nicely sculpted too.

Lisowicia is simply a masterpiece: the sculpt is nice and accurate (I think it has an acceptable level of detail: not all large mammals have the skin texture of African elephants) and contrary to some others, I do quite like their choice of colour scheme. For a 4.5m long individual, this model would have a scale of ~1:23.

The other two are alright, but better versions of both have been made in the past, so I'll skip over expressing opinions on them.

Proto - Looks good but will likely be too big for my collection. I want a 1:10-1:20 scale one.

Fuku - Nicely done hadrosaur.

Microraptor - Already a billion of these on the market.

Bary - Meh. Looks like a worse version of Suchomimus they made.

So really the Fuku is only solid one.

1. The allosaurus Looks nice but it's to small and in the end not that spectaculair to look at.

2. The megalodon has a good sculpt but i was hoping for an original more non-white-shark-like interpretation. It looks allot like the PNSO one which i already own.

3. The Lisowicia texture-wise is to simple and the paintjob is kinda atrocious.

Honestly, last year was a much better year for Collecta...
Shut up, i've waited so long for a single non-chinasaur dicynodont, don't ruin this for me

I'll be getting the Allosaurus, Bajadasaurus, Maybe the Baryonyx, Maybe Fukuisaurus, DEFINITELY Lisowicia and finally Saltriovenator.

What's left to reveal? I'm hoping the mapu is nice enough to repaint

Mapusaurus (probably a smaller version), Diplodocus (possibly a repaint), and Caviramus, which will surely rock.

Ok I do really like that plump spotty pig, definitely the only interesting figure from them so far. I like the moldy potato look.

Duna

Lisowicia is a beauty, but I don't collect such species, I would only buy a Placerias and not so big. But I think it's one of the best figures of Collecta for next year.
Megalodon is really nice, nice head sculpt, don't mind the colors, but I'm not so happy about movable jaws in sharks, in real life they get so different from closed. If I collected such big models I would buy it since it's so nice but it's so big for me (I need a much smaller Meg since I have the PNSO large in display with the fossil teeth).
Roaring allosaurus is a very good figure (congrats Collecta), and the head sculpt resembles a lot of the Safari 2019 which for me is the best small figure in the market by now. The painting works well but I would have liked a bit more colors, and the pose reminds me of Chiquito de la Calzada  ;D (a famous Spanish humorist). I will keep with my Safari because I try only to have one model of each species, but this is a really nice figure. If I get more room I would seriously think about getting it.

By now I'll be getting the Bajadasaurus yes or yes.

Faelrin

Don't forget all the invertebrates too. The Orthoceras, Redlichia rex trilobite, Belemnite, Pleuroceras ammonite, the Horseshoe crab, and the Nautilus have yet to be revealed too.

The Lisowicia is definitely my favorite so far. Very happy to see a dicynodont finally, I hope it isn't the last (how long has it been since the Tyco Placerias?).

Allosaurus is pretty good but I'm happy with my Safari version.

CollectA is willing to go out on some limbs with some clades, but not with others, for some reason. Obscure dinosaurs, pterosaurs, plesiosaurs, mammals? Sure. But with fish they go with the number 1 and 2 most common taxa. Dunkleosteus is kind of understandable because it also has really interesting morphology, but I think the reason there aren't more megalodon toys is that they're basically always pointless--nevertheless, only Dunkleosteus outnumbers megalodon. We don't have any idea how it differed from a great white or any other mackerel shark--its remains are teeth and a handful of vertebrae. Meanwhile, there are hundreds of other prehistoric sharks/chimeras known from good remains that have never been made into a figure, not to mention other fish lineages. So all these meg toys are just great white toys, perhaps with some completely made up alterations to make them not-quite-a-great-white. It's interesting that CollectA considered the jaw problem, but they just ended up with the opposite problem from PNSO: PNSO's meg only looks right with its mouth closed, whereas CollectA's will only look right with its mouth open. Good for kids I guess. But I'd have rather seen literally any other prehistoric fish.

Anyway, again, lots to like in this lineup. Lisowicia is top of the list, although I'm pretty excited for the invertebrates too.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.
