Quotebecause  adding a base reduces retail sales by 65 - 70%. It ceases to be a toy and becomes an ornament. It has to be commercially viable

I agree with this answer too. I don't like the models with non removable bases both for the reasons that Duna wrote and because they aren't good for making dioramas with them.

Yes, that's it.  ^-^
Just buy what you want. The good thing is that companies do listen to customers and/or sales: less fixed bases, more for me to choose.   :)
Perhaps the best attempt to satisfy all parties are the removable bases offered by Favorite and PNSO. It seems to remain a bit of an ideal though, since as we have experienced, sometimes these figures still topple anyways. Don't see Papo going to this approach any time soon.

I agree also with this post, but I hope that Papo will not make models with removable bases because the price of those figures would increase even more.

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Honestly I really do like removable bases particularly because they can then be used with other figures and typically have more detail put into them too (though not always), even if fused bases offer better stability (though this is not always the case, especially depending on the pose and how prone a figure's legs are to warping). Though come to think of it there have been exceptions to this I have been fond of, particularly CollectA's Hypsilophodon and Koreaceratops, though perhaps that's also because of the inclusion of flora and the creatures themselves are rather small. In fact I would like to see more things like done with smaller creatures.

I really do agree with avatar_RobinGoodfellow @RobinGoodfellow. It is nice there are so many options out there (or mostly) for everyone's preferences. This is really a great time to be a collector for prehistoric creatures.

I feel like it would be a good step in Papo's direction to start doing bases, as their figure's quality has maintained great over many years but hasn't gotten better. It could also help with better poses, which I know Papo is capable of. Also knowing Papo, the bases would be near Vitae level.
Most (if not all) Rebor figures are mid

Well disregarding the scale and probably the composition itself, but I had this idea come out of nowhere, and did this in GIMP today (it's a free program similar to photoshop) using the promo pics of the new Giganotosaurus, the Therizinosaurus, and of course the Baryonyx and Cryolophosaurus. I probably could add in the standing tiger too if not anything else, because why not drive the point even further about how often this pose is used among Papo's figures:

Maybe the Pentaceratops could be added as well.

Pentaceratops is definitely guilty of this. And if we're gonna include the Cryolophosaurus I would say the original Tyrannosaurus is also in a similar pose.

Well..that seems dramatic.  How about just not buy the figure?  There are other, better Giganotosaurus figures out there.

^This. I've never seen people so upset over a figure. Also, can we, collectively, stop calling it a "giga". Everytime I read that, I die on the inside.

I play a lot of Ark on console and it became an unfortunate habit. Typing with a controller is cumbersome so dinosaurs end up abbreviated in chat.

I bet your Giga raged when you took a little fall damage

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I'll see about cramming them in somehow. Speaking of the Pentaceratops though, it is a shame they have it primarily displayed and advertised that way since it is fully capable of being in a mostly quadrupedal pose (at least from what I've seen of it in reviews). I'll mess around with this tomorrow though since it is already getting pretty late for me.

I've never actually owned one because I play solo on pvp and the alphas won't let me lol.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin , it's so tempting to make a diorama with those screaming dinos and a baby yoda in the middle.

Faelrin

avatar_ITdactyl @ITdactyl One that sounds hilarious honestly, and two I had a wonderful mental image just now of Baby Yoda just sipping his soup, while all these creatures are just shrieking at each other.

S @Syndicate Bias Lol I just noticed your forum pic.

Also I have the psd file of this stuff if anyone wants it to toy around with and save some time with modifying it. I suppose I'll through it up for download tomorrow after I add more to it, based on the suggestions.

Your picture is the perfect example of Papo' philosophy about prehistoric figures: a pop extravaganza of screaming monsters.
It's wonderful  >:D  (or really sad.. it depends on point of view..  :P  ;)  ::)  ).

You have done a fantastic composition, I really love it! Waiting for the Penta (and the T-rex if looks good there).

By the way, I just came across this fantastic custom Papo baryonyx. I like it so much that I'm seriously thinking about buying one ... avatar_Silvanusaurus @Silvanusaurus, did you just bend the model in hot water or is some part cut and repositioned?

I'm glad you like my Baryonyx!  ^-^ Though his creation was a bit more complicated... all four limbs, the feet and the neck were cut and repositioned in various ways, but on top of that the throat, neck, chest, shoulders, upper arms, back, thighs and the entire tail, along with all the scales on those parts are ether heavily altered or completely resculpted with modelling putty. Unfortunately at the minute I can't access the photographs of it before it was painted, which showed how much of it was different. Its bulkier and more gnarly than the original, but the hard part was getting it to balance with a horizontal posture, which required adding a lot of weight to the tail and re-positioning the feet a frustrating number of times. I did all of that after trying at first to just use the hot water method, which can work but only temporarily. I wouldn't recommend going as far as I did unless you have a lot of spare time and patience to dedicate to it, but I think you could create a similar pose by just altering the legs and feet at the joints.
