Invicta Stegosaurus is included but not Carnegie? I guess I'll have to vote for a Schleich! >:D

No one ever suggested it for the poll. Besides, Invicta>Carnegie, at least in this case.  >:D

True, I didn't get in here in time! Steg is one of the better Invictas but IMO it's only better than the Carnegie if you're looking at one of the factory "refreshed" molds that look and feel like knockoffs of the real thing. :P The original sculpt and some of the better repaints are things of beauty.

I found it quite hard to whittle my votes down to ten.  Eleven or twelve seemed more achievable!  This poll reminded me of how very fond I am of my stegosaurs.
Yeah I feel the same with this as well. There are lots of decent figures and taxon represented here that it was hard for me to decide on my top ten.

Sure, but unless I missed it (quite possible!) nobody proposed that figure to be added to the list of contenders. An exhaustive list of all stegosaur toys ever would make an unmanageable poll, which is why we settle on a shortlist of contenders as a community first.

I found this category on the Dinotoyblog useful for coming to decisions: https://dinotoyblog.com/classification/stegosaur/

Very pleased that the Carnegie Miragaia is in first place.

I thought it would be the PNSO Chungkingosaurus but I'm also pleased.

There's ample precedence for shortlisting - the Tyrannosaurus rex poll winner, the splendid Battat version 1/2 was included, but the very fine version 3, a different sculpt, was excluded. Perhaps this partially enabled the v. 1/2 to win, but nevertheless, IMO it was the best of the lot, regardless.

Me too. I think it's even better than the newer Safari Stegosaurus, and that having in mind it's a 2011 figure. Carnegie was something else.

Doug's 2019 WS Stego has pulled even, finally.

I would like to also vote for the Favorite soft model series 2 one in addition to the votes I placed.
It's a good one, for sure. If you didn't vote for 10 the first time, you could always add this one. If you did vote for 10, then you might want to remove one and add this one.

Gwangi

The soft model series 2 is not on the poll, it didn't make the cut for the shortlist. These polls have a two phase process. The first is to build a shortlist, a list of all the figures that members want to see on the poll. This makes the list of contenders more manageable than having a list of every stegosaur figure ever. Ideally nothing will be on the poll that won't receive at least one vote. Even still, some figures end up on the shortlist and still receive very little if any votes (Carnage Stegosaurus by ReSaurus). So the reason there is no Favorite series 2 Stegosaurus on there is because it was not requested during the building of the shortlist phase and it cannot be added without restarting the whole poll again. If it makes you feel better, it wouldn't have made the top ten anyway. I also personally like that figure but didn't request it during the shortlist phase because there were at least 10 others I liked better.

avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum, will we see a video for this poll sometime soon? O:-)

Faelrin

I wonder how this poll would have faired if the PNSO Museum line adult and baby was around then? Or the PNSO large Miragaia and Tuojiangosaurus (since I'm guessing the above options represent the mini figures) for that matter.

The PNSO Miragaia and Tuojiangosaurus in this poll are indeed the mini ones.  It is interesting to consider how this poll would have gone with the larger PNSO versions of the aforementioned stegosaurs and the museum line adult and baby Stegosaurus.  Hopefully we'll see this in a few years time with a new stegosaur toy poll!

And there will be a BotM version by and by, no doubt.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Good point about that. There will be both Cyberzoic and BotM Stegosaurus, Kentrosaurus, and Miragaia on the way.

I know that the ongoing polls (3) persist because it takes a very long time to gradually get enough folk to vote so as to make the polls somewhat meaningful, but really they are dragging on badly. I say his because: 1) the longer that they go on, the less relevant they become due to the introduction of new figures that supercede existing favorites, and 2) their very duration means that it will be a long time before a new replacement poll emerges so as to take into account the latest releases that have missed out on these polls. They risk becoming increasingly irrelevant - I really think that there should be a stricter time limit on how long that they stay open. If that means that too few people vote, the conclusion could be drawn that the time for polls has passed, sadly enough, IMO, since I enjoy them.
