The new Safari figures look amazing! What's your opinion on them?

Killekor

I quite like them, I haven't really had much time to think about many of these figures (been sick), so I'll update the post when I come up with some thoughts.

Shonisaurus

As always, Carnegie and Safari figures are figures whose excellent quality is not obsolete despite the passing of the years. I congratulate you for all those beautiful acquisitions that increase your Loon collection.

Thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to read your thoughts!

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Kinda hard to have a figure that hasn't been released yet. Also, that figure looks so good, I wouldn't buy it for fear of it putting my other figures to shame.

Congrats on all those acquisitions there, particularly some of those older and harder to find ones. That also sounds like quite the interesting story there regarding the mammoth. Maybe one of these day I'll get around to getting one of those as well, if not any of those others I've ordered. Your shelf display looks great too. Quite the collection as well.

What a "fun" interaction that must have been, picking up the mammoth! My family always taught me that everything prehistoric was killed in a series of floods, the most recent of which was Noah's and did in all the Pleistocene stuff. A very "sophisticated" compromise with deep time.

My Protoceratops Collection
Ever since I read Dinotopia, Protoceratops has become my favorite dinosaur. The little hog-parrot has a charm that I can't get enough of; so, luckily, there are quite a few good models/figures of it. Here's my collection:

Jurassic World Attack Pack(Mattel)

Mini Model (Favorite)

"Mongolian Fight" Desktop Model (Favorite)

Definitely Dinosaurs (Playskool)

Dinorama (Master Replicas Group)

Carnegie Collection (Safari Ltd.)

Dino Riders (Tyco)

I'll save the Dinotopia plush for later, as I plan on having a separate post for that and my other Dinotopia merchandise.

Also, there are a lot of Protoceratops toys, and some are better than others. Things like the Geoworld and Recur are a little too ugly for me, so I doubt I'll ever get them.

The blog could definitely use reviews of the two Favorites, the Playskool, and the Dinorama.

Alright, I'll get on those as soon as I finish the Dinotopia plush review.

The Tyco Protoceratops holds up remarkably well even into 2020. Great to see the the Mattel Protoceratops with a ball-jointed neck (similar to the Dino Riders), especially since the Mattel line is the spiritual successor to the Tyco.

Shonisaurus

avatar_Loon @Loon Nice protoceratops, by the way there is another very good protoceratops that is from Wild Past and other protoceratops such as the one from Collecta planned in late spring / early summer and the UKRD that sincerely was my first protoceratops and one of my first collection figures.

The Tyco is one of my favorites. Decades after it came out, it still is the best Protoceratops action figure. Though, that might change when I get the BOTM version.

Thank you!
I have the Wild Past on order from Dan's Dinosaurs, and definitely plan on getting the CollectA when it comes out.

Wow, that's quite an array of Protoceratopses! I tend to think of it as being a species that has gotten limited attention, but this shows that that isn't really true.

The new display is finally coming together.

I still have to mount the shelves to the walls. But overall, it's almost ready.

Also, got the light strips working on the right bookcase. I still have to install them on the other case, but I have to get some new connectors first.

You may have noticed this gal. I found her on letgo for $40. Sure, I had to drive a combined to total of 4 hours in horrid traffic to LA to pick it up, but it was worth it. She's very beat up, and had to be thoroughly scrubbed to clean all of the dirt out of the neck wrinkles, but I think it looks good there.

The figures seen in my first post in this thread are mostly in this bin.
Also, here's the rest of the collection. They're all hanging out in the closet for now.

Halichoeres

Oh, damn, getting fancy with the LEDs. Can't wait to see it stocked up.

I wouldn't call the ones I got fancy. They had to be clamped in to stay attaches. The adhesive is just awful. But, thank you.

I'll probably get around to finalizing everything this weekend.

Faelrin

That display is going to look fantastic once its done I'm sure. Really neat idea to give it some lighting and the giant raptor head looks pretty cool too. Also really nice assortment of Protoceratops there. I had no idea the Dino Riders one was similar in size to the Jurassic World one.

What an excellent collection of Protoceratops!  I don't have the Mongolian Fight but would quite like one. Though it seems a bit of a misnomer, as the Protoceratops seems blissfully aware it is under attack!

I hope the final preparations with your bookcases goes well: it's looking good!
