Hi folks! I was wondering, how do kickstarters work? Like, do you have to pay a certain amount in order to receive certain figures? Like, I hope to buy the T Rex 1/18 and the T Rex 1/35, how much would I have to pledge to get those when they are first shipped? Sorry if a dumb question!

Best to contact Creative Beast directly about that.

avatar_Giganotosaurus @Giganotosaurus I hope I can help. If you want to help back the Tyrannosaur series kickstarter when it launches you'll need to pick a pledge tier which will have a reward of some type tied to it. Using the ceratopsian series kickstarter as an example if you were to pick the Zuniceratops pledge, you would need to pay the $25 (or more maybe). You also have the option of paying for more in addition if you want to add anything on, which you could select when the backer survey is sent out. Those extra funds will then be treated as a credit for when you select your add ons for the survey (which is also a pre-order store). I would suggest also visiting the raptor and ceratopsian kickstarters and the faqs over on them to get an idea.

For your question about how much those particular figures would cost, it may be a good idea to look at the prices of the ceratopsians as a starting point. The 1/18th adult Tyrannosaurus will no doubt be at or more then the adult 1/18th Triceratops.

I've seen people ask David about prices on Instagram, and he's been telling everyone that it's too soon for him to know how much the tyrannosaurs are going to cost. So you're not going to be able to get specific numbers yet.

If you want to know how Kickstarter campaigns work in general, David provides a list of prices for the figures and you pledge the total dollar amount for all the figures you want to buy (plus shipping). Not all of the figures are available right away; as the funding reaches certain goal amounts, new figures "unlock," which means David has raised enough money to make them. After the campaign is over, everyone who pledged gets an email with the link to a storefront (called BackerKit) that will let you select which figures you want and/or add more money for additional figures.

Thanks you two very much! I think I understand now! I will for sure go with a T Rex pledge assuming they have one! I wonder how noticeable the reuse of body parts are? Not much I am guessing?

An image of the painted prototype juvenile T. rex is on CB's Facebook page. Looks great!

Looks great! I was not a fan of carnivorous theropods, for example I liked raptors less than BoTM ceratopsids but honestly those tyrannosauroids are superior in genius and beauty to their BoTM ceratopsid counterparts.

Here's the painted prototype! I love the colors

I really can't wait to see what the painted adult looks like.

Honestly, that juvenile tyrannosaurus rex is magnificent, it is a highly articulated figure but perhaps because of the painting or perhaps because of an improvement in the BoTM sculpture the seams of the articulated parts are not very noticeable, it is a magnificent work of art.

Faelrin

It already looks so beautiful and it isn't finished yet. I will probably hold off with updating the op until it is finished though. And something I didn't really think much about before but the blue eyes is really unique among Tyrannosaurus toys. Most go with yellow eyes.

And of course I'm also looking forward to the adult in both scales.

I am positively surprised! Well, I should have known that color will look differently on a figure than on a sheet of paper ;)
But nevertheless, I wasn't expecting this to look so natural and eye-catching at the same time. We're off to a great start!

Here's our first look at the Gorgosaurus sculpt (sculpted by Jake Baardse):

I really can't wait to see it finished. I have long been waiting for one to recreate a Dinosaur Park formation ecosystem on my shelves, since I first got the Dromaeosaurus and mountain pack.

And along those lines, would the 1/6 scale juvenile Troodon/Stenonychosaurus be able to work as a1/18th scale adult in this scenario? Using the measurements of the figure, 6 inches/15.24 cm by the measurement of 2.4 meters/240 cm on the ratio calculator linked on Dan's Dinosaurs gives me a rough input of nearly 1:16 which would be close but slightly small (so sub adult or smaller then average specimen).

Edit: Added the link and another pic. The more I look at this though I'm once again getting vibes that this is shrinkwrapped in some places. Like I'm not sure the the temporal fenestra should be so visible under the skin like that? Granted it could also just be due to the lighting of the modeling program, but then again looking back at the other sculpts I haven't noticed that on any of them either so I'm not sure what's going on here with this one to make it look this way. Thoughts on this?

Honestly, my impression of the gorgosaurus is completely favorable. I can't wait to see the whole prototype finished. It is a great figure.

Giganotosaurus

I don't know where I am going to put all of these, I think I'm gonna buy most, no matter the cost!
Anybody else planning on buying most or even all of these?!

When it comes to packaging, I'm generally not sentimental. I've been tossing all the PNSO boxes right in the recycle bin.

Exactly what I do, as the boxes take up too much room. Always buy without boxes from Ali Express to.

RaptorRex

Do you get the little booklets that come with PNSO dinosaurs if you buy without the box on Aliexpress?

Proceratosaurus' completed artwork is up on Facebook. Bali mynah scheme looks nice.

Proceratosaurus! I love this color scheme, it's gonna look so beautiful ;D

All that's left now are Eotyrannus, Moros, Albertosaurus, Teratophoneus, Qianzhousaurus, and the WWD version of the 1/35 T. rex.

Nice figure, but other than that when are these figures going to be available? Maybe next year?
