Just pre-ordered the new GR Toys Carcharodontosaurus, $69.99 + $16.95 SH/H, through Dan's Dinosaurs. The promotional $10 off will expire on 1/7, so get it ordered soon for that discount!

Congratulations. I have to pass on this one until we receive actual in hand/final product images. I believe we have not yet received those, right?

Also, that high of a price prompts me to wait for a different brand to make a Carcharodontosaurus, unless the final product is certainly a beauty.

Wait, what was the size again?

Syndicate Bias

Not the worst price. The Nanmu Gigas were around the same price too.

It's a bit big to scale 1/35, it's closer to 1/30 or 1/32... 36cm long, 14cm to the top of the head, IIRC...

It's weird that we haven't gotten photos of the actual mass produced paint jobs...

It is, but I'm going on faith that the final production pieces will be nicely painted, just as the Spinosaurus is.

I'm going to wait to see some in hand photos before ordering it. I thought the spino turned out looking pretty decent, but the paint master seemed much less complex than the Carcharodontosaurus'is. I have serious doubts that that level of work could be maintained on a mass produced figure in that price range.

Seems like these GR Toys releases are each in partnership with another company. The Spinosaurus was a joint release with Musee Studio, and if I have it correct, the figure was produced/manufactured by GR Toys, but sculpted and finished by Musee.

I'm assuming there might be a process similar for the Carcharodontosaurus, as this is indicated to be a joint release between GR Toys and HaoLongGood, a company I've never heard of.

I'm hoping that either GR or HaoLong can deliver the production pieces in a look somewhat approaching the promo photos... we shall see.

Is there like a cheaply painted version like the vitae models. This paint job looks to good for me to afford

Thanks for the information avatar_Over9K @Over9K! Hopefully both companies can maintain quality control. Two heads are indeed better than one.

avatar_Stegotyranno420 @Stegotyranno honestly I doubt it. A cheaper variant would be nice as I am not willing to spend almost $80 on this genus. However, that would definitely increase the likely hood of quality control going down between all 3 figures being produced.

Thank you so much for letting us know about this deal! It's really appreciated. :D

As much as I adore this genus though, I'm going to wait until I see hand photos as well. Because $80 is a lot of money to potentially waste. But I'm also optimistic that this figure is worth it.

"Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. What is left of them is fossilized in the rocks, and it is in the rock that real scientists make real discoveries. Now what John Hammond and InGen did at Jurassic Park is create genetically engineered theme park monsters, nothing more and nothing less."

Dynomikegojira

Long overdue that we get a figure of this amazing species

Eocarcharia

Nice. About time Dicraeosaurus got a decent model.

These look beautiful. Wonder what the price will be, but I will of course pay it as these are amazing. Yes of course I know that these are not final products as the paint applications will be much different.

I know this is off topic, but I have not heard much news about the Carcharodontosaurus. I am looking for in hand photos until I decide on its purchase. Hopefully this and the Carcharodontosaurus will be seen in collector's hands at some point.

Next release announced.
Dicraeosaurus.

Is the Carcharodontosaurus released yet??

Perhaps we should take on board that this is a collaboration between GR Toys and Haolonggood. V @vampiredesign said in the "Storm is brewing" thread that GR Toys is "a seller,HAOLONGGOOD :Toy design and production".
