I still have never seen the basic figures anywhere, in stores or online. I actually like that Edmontosaurus.

Oh, that's a redux of the BD Spino! I just noticed the outline of the skin flap. I'm sure a lot of people will be happy to see that.

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi I'm pretty sure BBTS has a pre-order of it up on their website. Occasionally Amazon will have them as well.

Hmm, I wonder if that's intended to be Tiger in that pack or just a random repaint? Doesn't really look much like Tiger though. Too much red. I don't really make out any stripes either.

Surprised they've done another repaint of Albertosaurus, and the Spinosaurus though.

Thanks for the tip avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, I'll keep my eyes peeled. I skipped the original Edmontosaurus and kind of regret it.

Just saw this new image of this set over on JP Toys:

There was a video reshared by Collect Jurassic that showed off the set (alongside the Sound Surge Carnotaurus for some reason):

The set and the box art look pretty good too.

I do make out some stripes, but I really hope this is just a random repaint. Tiger being confined to this set would really suck.

In other news I finally got my first Dominion figure, the Allosaurus. Love this big girl.

Apparently that last one is Genyodectes. Is anyone else tired of Mattel making dinosaurs that are only known from small fragments? Callovosaurus, Moros (the only one that is actually diagnostic), Quilmesaurus, and now this. I love it whenever obscure dinosaurs get attention, but why couldn't we have gotten Camptosaurus, Suskityrannus, Aucasaurus, and Zupaysaurus instead?

And why no oviraptorsaurs yet?

Well at least we finally have another (non abelisaur) ceratosaur in the line, and it's a pretty decent take, aside from the teeth. If it is Genyodectes, then one would hope they got the general shape of the teeth correct, as it is only known the front of the jaws. I mean it kind of looks like they did, despite the blobbiness for child safety, with the smaller teeth up front, and they get larger further in. I like the coloration and elaborate crests, though it is a bit like the Yangchuanosaurus in style, but I suppose it is more plausible on this one. I must say it is absolutely impressive the diversity this year has been new film species, and others. Easily the most of any year, short of 2018 had so far (edit: In case anyone wondering, 2022 has 47 total genera so far, with 23 of those being new. 2018 in comparison had 30 total, and obviously all where new). If I see it I'll try to pick it up.

Also glad to see that the red Atrociraptor in the set with the Spinosaurus and Albertosaurus is meant to be Tiger, and will get a separate release. I just wish it was orange instead of red though (same with Panthera). I'm sure we'll get accurate HC versions down the road though, or hopefully, if not repaints.

I don't care as much about what Mattel makes as much as I care about the execution of it. So the fact that this Genyodectes looks cool is good enough for me. When it comes to something like a Camptosaurus, that's something I want more from CollectA or Safari than Mattel. Mattel does make some odd choices though. I had never even heard of Genyodectes before today.

Whoa, Genyodectes. Didn't expect that one to show up. Cool to see Mattel make a more accurate Ceratosaur for the line. It actually doesn't look too bad.

Edit: Okay, hold up. Was it actually confirmed to be Genyodectes yet? I couldn't find anything after a quick search.

Such a shame that I have no space for that beautiful beast...

And I have to agree that I wish Mattel didn't make such obscure/fragmentary species, specially when there are plenty of other species that are much better documented (and popular). The good thing is that I get to save money.

So far 3/4 of the Atrociraptors can be obtained individually, with only Ghost being exclusive to the set with the cage and Sonia. So if I had to choose between the Owen Motorcycle set and the cage set, I would go for the latter. Would be shame to say goodbye to the small Carno as it is a pretty cool figure, but its way too small to accurately represent the individual we will see on the film so...

In other news, thanks to a website in Peru: https://www.tottus.com.pe/jurassic-world-jw-surt-dinosaurios-legacy-42671065/p/, we got our first look at the legacy collection Geosternbergia with teeth that it shouldn´t have (c´mon Mattel, I can tolerate them in your regular Pteranodons, but on this...) and what seems to be Mattel's second attempt at a JP3 female Velociraptor but with the wrong eye color...

Carnoking

Really feels like Mattel doesn't care about this particular line anymore. they've been doing some awesome stuff with the legacy collection as of late but it seems the 10 dollar price range has consistently failed to meet expectations.

I'd say just glue the mouth shut and it'd be fine, but you'd also better repaint it.  I have never seen a more horrifically gaudy combination of colors, geez.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?
