I did that when Estemmenosuchus came out.

Currently want to get Safari's Zuul repainted - when it finally hits our shores.

Absolutely. The colour scheme CollectA chose is what ruined the figure for me.

Also, others that come to mind...

- Papo Megaloceros with an accurate coloration. I've seen some repaints of this figure that look stunning with the real colours.

- Safari Microraptor with a shiny black instead of the matte black Safari chose.

Kapitaenosavrvs

I would love a repaint of my feathered Safari rex and the feathered Collecta with the Base. I am sorry to say this, but i really dislike these coulourations/choices. Same goes for the Safari Allosaurus. Normally it would be the Safari Tylosaurus (Yellow horror), but gladly this was done already :D To be a bit positive too: The EoFauna Atlasaurus has one of the most beautiful colouration within mass produced toyish Figures. No need to change anything at all. Such a Beauty.

So I am definitely someone who has a majority of their figures repainted. I'm pretty picky plus it allows me to favor the figure(s) even more.

I have a list of "to be repainted soon" figures so I'll provide them now.

- Battat Pachyrhinosaurus
- CollectA Edaphosaurus
- Safari Ltd. Dimetrodon
- CollectA Edmontosaurus

As others have explained previously, just some of these are unappealing in terms of coloration which shadow over the beautiful sculpt.

I think that this is a good approach to dealing with the fine, accurate sculpts put out by Safari and CollectA. Their attractive price point typically must come with a compromise- that's usually the paint job. Generally, a lot of people are okay with that, given that the paint work is acceptable to them, but obviously there are exceptions: pieces that are too mediocre in their paint apps, or figures for which we crave a premium application, or both together.

Lynx

Would love a repaint for Safari LTDs Yutyrannus, or their suchomimus (plus fixed issues with the quality control, but that aside..)

Both are quite plain and while sure, I don't mind it much at all, I would still prefer a new color scheme

I mentioned this in the Collecta 2023 wish thread, but I would like to see Collecta's deluxe Therizinosaurus get repainted. I'm not fond of the fleshy-tone color Collecta used on many of their theropods and the Theri's green and blue feather highlights just look strange. A complete do-over in colors could do wonders for the figure.

You're exactly right SidB.

The Battat Pachyrhinosaurus for example, too odd of a color choice and application. I usually don't like Battat line due to its rubber like look to their models, but I've always like the bulk and pose of their Pachyrhinosaurus. Cheap figure too, despite its age. So it's one of those who will be repainted eventually.

Oh yes, I remember that Estemmenosuchus, it looked great in the end. I expect the Zuul will too.

Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews)

Quote from: Dusty Wren on November 22, 2021, 03:36:47 PMI also wish CollectA had done something more interesting with their Moropus. The sculpt is gorgeous, but the color is a straight tan with no variation. Give it dark points, a dark dorsal stripe, white rings around the eyes, something! I think mammal figures especially benefit from flashy colors, since they're less popular than dinosaurs. They need the extra pizzazz to get picked up.

I painted a Calico chalicothere recently!  ;D  This is the Moropus from Michael Eischen's "PaleoSculpture"

I would love to see any modern Spinosaurus done in the colors of the 2009 Carnegie Collection Spinosaurus. That's my all-time favorite color scheme for this genus.

I would like to see bold stripes or similar patterns on sauropod extremities, particularly at least half of the tail, and the underside of the neck.
This John Conway picture is a good start (Linked so I don't make this post unnecessarily huge!)

I'd like the Safari Plesiosuchus to be repainted.  Its current paintjob is awful.

Sim

PNSO adult Sinoceratops.  I think I'd like one without the gloss on its head.

Bowhead Whale

Safari ltd Allosaurus. About ten years ago, it was of a ridiculous yellow color. Now, it has what looks to me like racing car patterns on its tail, legs and flancs. Just like if the animal was covered with dominoes. Bleah. When will it be painted in more realistic colors than that? What will they do to Allosaurus next?

marisaura

i tend to be pretty satisfied with the original paint schemes on my figures, but i've always thought the battat terra acrocanthosaurus could use a good repaint. something about the pnso one seems off to me so i'm probably gonna stick with the battat, but she could really do with a glow up 😭

IMO Could've been easily fixed by omitting the black outlines. Would've cut down on paint cost, and greatly reduce the chance of paint error as shown in Bioniclesaurus's copy, where the black tail line pretty much completely misses the white patterns.

Sim

CollectA Minmi.  It's a nice little figure, but I would like one without the vertical slit pupils CollectA used to give their dinosaurs.
