If David Silva of Creative Beast Studio could be summed up in a single word, I think that word would be “ambitious.” In addition to his ongoing Beasts of the Mesozoic and Cyberzoic series, he has made the following announcement:
Toy manufacturers don’t think that people are interested in scientific accuracy, but Eons and Creative Beast Studio know otherwise! Our audiences share our passion for the fascinating reality of deep history. So we teamed up to create unparalleled 1/18th scale, hand-painted mammoth action figures! Our Backerkit campaign launches soon– follow our campaign page now to get updates and sneak previews of the creation process!
This certainly explains the presence of a prototype woolly mammoth calf at Creative Beast’s table at a recent fan convention.

Presumably this series will include other extinct proboscideans as well as mammoths, meaning we could see representatives of deinotheres, gomphotheres, mastodons, stegodonts, and true elephants. The project is set to launch in 55 days; you can sign up to follow it at this website. Future developments should prove very interesting indeed!

This is very exciting news. I don’t have space either….but i’ll cram them in somehow. Where there’s a will there’s a way. 😉
@dinotoyblog I don't really collect toys, but I have a kid who'll be old enough for them before too long, and I would *love* to see more realistic prehistoric toys. I'm the sort of guy who gets excited when I see feathered dinosaurs.
If I am being honest, I don’t have any space to display a large 1/18 proboscidean. But if this series includes the adorable dwarf elephant Palaeoloxodon falconeri, then I’d snap up that up in an instant!
Awesome! I hope they do even more cenozoic creatures like entelodons, felines, megathiriidae, etc. But the best thing that could happen is a paleozoic line with mammal like reptiles (yk wym)
