Didnt see a thread for this, so sorry if it already exists, but who here has dino tattoos??

Heres a picture of one of my when it was still fresh.

I do! Kind of  :P

My archaeopteryx wings, taken right after they were finished.

I drew these before I knew much about feather placement on maniraptoran hands, so the fingers jutting out of these wings don't make a lot of sense, as I had just drawn normal bird wings. Archaeopteryx wings don't look like this at all, and of course the colour is all wrong now too!
But I still adore this tattoo, and I certainly don't regret it  :))

^thats awesome! Im thinking of something brontosaurus related for my next one.

Its not wrong, they only found one black feather, maybe this archie has a black chest.

or mybe its an undiscoverd species of Archaeopteryx.

I dont do permanet tatoos, just those ones that last a few days.

I don't actually have a dino-themed/palentology-themed tattoo nor have I ever had a tattoo. However with my plans to go to college for a degree in fine art I think I'm going to want a little tattoo to remind me of my goals. A little Sytgimoloch skull or a skeletal of Basilosaurus would be my pick for the back of my neck. ;)

Monkeysaurus

This is quite an old topic, however I thought I'd share my tattoo anyways.

I wanted something goofy on my arm so that I remember to never take things so seriously ;D You can also kind of see it in my profile picture.

Reminders to not take things seriously are sorely needed! That's a great approach to it.

Wanted to start a new dinosaur tattoo thread!

I'll start with my most recent ink, a ceratosaurus that was a collaboration between me and my artist, Rempe (link to his instagram)
Currently a WIP, color will come later!

I provided the initial draft to try and ensure it was fairly accurate whilst still being stylized, and he refined it in his style.
I debated on being an ultra-nerd and keeping it to jurassic plants only, but... in the end I decided a more traditional flower worked better with the composition. However, this is the first part to an ongoing sleeve, so I'll be adding some cycads or ferns eventually.

And next, not dinosaurs but I have two other tattoos from him. An alligator on my left arm and a crocodile on my right! The croc was meant to be a kaprosuchus but came out a bit more extant croc-like, which is still cool! I can't fault the guy for not being a paleo nerd like me and these are still some of the most unique crocodilian tatts I've personally seen (not-so-humble brag).

and lastly, to share some cool artists/tattoos I've found

ankylosaur by konstantin.tattoos

styracosaurus by pink.madzilla

I have a TON more liked/bookmarked on instagram so I'm happy to keep sharing.

Bread

Those look fantastic!

I've wanted Tyrannosaurus footprints along my tricep/bicep area or on my upper back (right or left). But never been committed to it. Maybe one day, and I would for sure post it.

Duna

Wow, those are super cool tatoos! I like the style of yours!

dinodamage

avatar_Bread @Bread thanks so much! And whoa, that would be awesome, hope you can get that some day! It took me a long time to commit to finally getting a tattoo, but def worth it imo

avatar_Duna @Duna thank you! I didn't figure out the kind of style I wanted my tattoos to be until I was 30 but tbh I'm glad I waited. Bold n bright!

Gwangi

Great tattoos, I particularly like the Ankylosaurus. I have tattoos, a sperm whale fighting a giant squid and a little shark, but I don't have any dinosaur tattoos. Eventually I would like to get a dinosaur or other prehistoric animal and I have a folder full of possible ideas on my computer.

dinodamage

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi yea the ankylosaur is cool- I rarely see them in tattoos.

Your tatts sound rad! I hope to get a sea critter myself but currently undecided.

And ah yea same here, soooo many ideas.

BlueKrono

I don't currently have any dinos, just a turtle, a frog, a mudpuppy, a snake, a symbol, and a couple of tardigrades. I have one planned for my forearm of an old-school plesiosaur battling a Tylosaurus. They'll be based on my favorite plesiosaur toy - a scaly green squeaker from an unknown company, and the Carnegie Tylosaurus. I'd also like to get the Carnegie Spinosaurus tattooed someday, but not sure where yet.

Well, I might as well share it. This picture is from when it was fresh, it's more faded now, the squid has lost virtually all of its color.

I would be interested in seeing your tattoos avatar_BlueKrono @BlueKrono, they sound interesting.

bmathison1972

I have three tattoos, but they are all sports accomplishments, two for Ironman triathlons and one for the Hood to Coast relay race  ^-^

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi I almost never put pics up on this site anymore. The necessity of uploading them to an external site and then pasting them here just became too cumbersome when I stopped using a computer a couple years ago. It's really cut down on my use of the DTF and especially sharing my newest acquisitions.
