This poll, the 2019 one, had a lot fewer votes (47) than the 2018 one (77). Does it qualify for a video?

stoneage

I was going to vote here and went off line to think about it.  When I came back it said Reset in red and the boxes are gone.  I can't even see the previous vote totals.  Can anyone explain this?  I voted today on the new 2018 figures.

That's odd. I can see the votes.

I can see them too. Also my odd Choices. And why only 5.

Definitely less interest in this poll than its 2018 counterpart. Guess that it could stay open for a good while yet. Good to have an "historical" perspective before choosing how to place one's votes.

Alright, the poll is over now, I just locked the voting.

So this is the top 5:

1) Eofauna Atlasaurus - 29 votes
2) Eofauna Giganotosaurus and Safari Camarasaurus - 21 votes
3) CollectA Edaphosaurus and PNSO Ankylosaurus - 20 votes
4) Eofauna Deinotherium - 19 votes
5) CollectA Borealopelta and Papo Pentaceratops - 15 votes

A great selection for sure. 2019 easily outclassed 2018. In my opinion 2019 has been the best year for dinosaur collecting so far. Congratulations to avatar_Eofauna @Eofauna for not only winning but also having all their releases in the top 5. And congratulatations to avatar_Doug Watson @Doug Watson for making it into the top 5 with his great Camarasaurus.

Any chance will get a video of these?

In these polls joint positions don't work this way.  For example the Eofauna Giganotosaurus and Safari Camarasaurus are not the top second figure, they are the top second and third figure.  That's how it's handled when avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum makes the videos.  So Eofauna's Deinotherium is not in the top 5, it's the top sixth figure of 2019.  I hope to see a top 10 video for this poll!

I guess that this is my completionist side speaking, but I too would like to see a VIDEO to bring this poll to its final state of completion, before this endeavor recedes too far into the past. I've always enjoyed the videos and regard them as a part of the 'classic' DTF/DTB.

avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum, I hope to see a video for this poll.  There's already one for 2020 figures, but 2019 doesn't have one.

I was thinking about this today!

Halichoeres

I think one reason there is a video for 2020 is that, having already set up the poll, I went to the trouble of collating the results, collecting photos, asking permission from the owners of the photos, and then sending all of it to Adam to put together. I think avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator will probably have to do something similar if you want to get a video in the near future. We also don't have one for 2021, right?

Thanks for doing all that avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres!  Yes, there isn't a video for the top figures of 2021 either.

I hope to get around to it once I have more free time, hopefully next month or thereabouts. I'm going to be a bit busy until then. I apologize for the wait.

I watched the Top 10 of 2020 video and both the PNSO Corythosaurus and Spinosaurus tied for the 7th spot, and the PNSO Tyrannosaurus and Safari Edmontosaurus for the 4th spot. But was that video the only time where he did that? I'm just asking what should be done in these circumstances (as in what's usually done). That said, I think it's unfair to rate a certain figure as 2nd and another one as 3rd (for example) when they have the same number of votes. Because what criterion would you use to rate one in the higher spot in that case?

SidB

Thanks, avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator , for having taken the initiative to start this project in the first place. It's appreciated by a lot of the members, even if that isn't always formally acknowledged. I look forward to the final fruit of your work on the 2019 poll. These polls, for me, have historical significance, and form part of grounding and background to what goes on here, day-by-day. They are of real, positive value to the DTB/DTF.

Sim

I think the top 10 of 2020 video is the only time avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum listed joint positions.  I think for past videos if two figures had the same number of votes a coin flip was used to decide which went in which place.  That resulted in things like the top 10 of 2014 video which had a figure in eleventh place.  Thinking about it now I think if figures have the same number of votes they should be ranked in the same position, not one higher than another.

That's the most sensible thing, I would say. I guess that's the criterion I will be using, then. Also, for some reason, back when I locked the poll I only listed the first 5, but of course, when I organize the final results I will (naturally) be listing the 10 most voted figures (as that's what this topic, and these polls in general, are about).

Thank you for doing all of that, I'll be doing the same as well (as I said, hopefully sometime next month).

Hey, it's been a couple years since the vote, what's another month? :)

Alright, so I managed to take a break and was able to gather the final results, here's the top 10:

1 ) Eofauna Atlasaurus - 29 votes
2 ) Eofauna Giganotosaurus/Safari Camarasaurus - 21 votes
3 ) CollectA Edaphosaurus/PNSO Ankylosaurus - 20 votes
4 ) Eofauna Deinotherium - 19 votes
5 ) CollectA Borealopelta/Papo Pentaceratops - 15 votes
6 ) Safari Pteranodon - 14 votes
7 ) Safari Stegosaurus/Papo Spinosaurus - 13 votes
8 ) Safari Prestosuchus - 12 votes
9 ) PNSO Amargasaurus - 11 votes
10 ) Safari Allosaurus - 10 votes

Again, congratulations to avatar_Eofauna @Eofauna for winning and having all their figures in the top and to avatar_Doug Watson @Doug Watson for making it to the 2nd spot with his great Camarasaurus and having 5 of his figures in the top! Congratulations to the other companies too.

I will now be selecting a photo for each model, and I will be asking the owner of the photos permission to use them. Until I haven't received confirmation from every single person I won't be contacting avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum in order to send him the results with the photos. Sometime after I send him the results, when Dr. Admin has time to get around to it, the video will be created, I guess.

Halichoeres

Excellent, thanks for pulling all that together! I think the video will only feature the top ten vote getters, or rather eleven in this case. There are lots of ties!
So more like:
1 Eofauna Atlasaurus
2 Eofauna Giganotosaurus/Safari Camarasaurus
4 CollectA Edaphosaurus/PNSO Ankylosaurus
6 Eofauna Deinotherium
7 CollectA Borealopelta/Papo Pentaceratops
9 Safari Pteranodon
10 Safari Stegosaurus/Papo Spinosaurus

I'm a little surprised the Safari Prestosuchus and Allosaurus, and the PNSO Amargasaurus, didn't make it into the top 10.  They are all better than the Eofauna Giganotosaurus in my opinion.  I mean no offense when I say that, I think all of Eofauna's other figures are among the best prehistoric figures ever.
