Quote from: Carnoking on October 24, 2022, 08:15:02 PMI thought they were just doing two different head sculpts instead of an articulated jaw, kind of like what they did with King Trident's horns. Of course, I'd be delighted if they just committed to the jaw articulation so I wouldn't have to choose between an open or closed mouth  :P

Interesting, I'd much rather have different heads than a jaw seam.

I'm sure you're not alone in that and in all honesty I'd be happy either way. The only reason I'd go for an articulated jaw on this one is that it already looks like it's going to have its fair share of seams anyway (even on the jaw of the open mouthed version it appears) so I'd concede more in exchange for the added display versatility. Of course, the seams in those test photos could be obfuscated in the paint but we'll see.

Good point, I imagine that to keep shipping costs down the neck and tail will be separate pieces.

Faelrin

Here's a very beautiful and creative way of showcasing the bendy neck and tails the figure has:

Or the rubber/foam tearing and dessintegrating like the Titanoboa...

Faelrin

While mine is stashed away in a box right now, I feel like I got lucky with my Titanoboa. I had that wrapped around my Brachiosaurus neck for quite a while now, and before I stored it away, I found no issues with the reported cracking thankfully. I suppose I can take it out of the box tomorrow, and put it back on display, and see how it is now. I think my biggest issue was the fact dust stuck to it, and I'm not even sure how to go about cleaning it without damaging it.

Anyways I'm not doubting that the material used could be at fault, but I am wondering if certain environmental factors are accelerating the deterioration on some copies that's not hit mine (at least as far as the last time I checked). Perhaps certain poses could be an issue as well?

That said this is probably a very valid concern that you both have brought up. At least there's the static Eofauna one which won't have those issues to worry about, but well if this does have a coloration someone would prefer over theirs, then I could understand that being an issue. I'll probably take the risk (depending on if any of the colorations interest me), because it gives an option to have a sauropod attacking a potential predator with its tail, something not really on the market, at least as far as cheaper plastic models of Diplodocus go.

I would assume after the Titanoboa issues REBOR fixed the breakage issue. None of the bendy tails on my other Rebor pieces seem to have a problem so there is that.

Faelrin

So beautiful. I can't decide which to go with. I appreciate the subtle dimorphism as well. Curious to see it with Eofauna's as well at some point.

Pliosaurking

Looks great! And I was right about it being overscaled, well at least it scales with their other offerings!

Carnoking

Yeah that's gonna be a tough choice... might just need both!

Stegotyranno420

I like the "female" color scheme better, but I am curious to see which other varieties are there

Duna

OMG, 82 cm in in straight line!!  :o  :o Maybe the neck and tail are detachable like other figures.

You guys were saying the 62 cm long Eofauna one was too small, weren't you?!  >:D  ;D Haha

Just kidding. Those look really good. Unlike PNSO, nice to see they gave it some sort of extra-oral tissue so it doesn't have exposed teeth, which not only makes sauropods look cursed but it's also against the evidence we currently have (Camarasaurus).

Easily one of Rebor's best I would say, even better than Kiss in my book. I already have Eofauna's and that's all I need though. I'd be very interested in an Apatosaurus like this, could be an alternative to the Bilinski Brontosaurus that I and many people can't get our hands on. Or an Amargasaurus...

Gwangi

Shaping up to be an amazing piece. But of all the sauropods out there Diplodocus is about the least interesting to me right now because I just got Eofauna's this past spring. And I still have the Carnegie too, among others.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

This looks gorgeous but will pass on it. I don't replace Eofauna figures. Had this been the other Diplodocus species I may have been slightly tempted, but I can rest easy I think.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Lynx

Just in time! Will gladly pick this up! I collect multiple of each species, and I am fond of REBORS new scientifically accurate figures.
An oversized house cat.

Halichoeres

I'm all set on Diplodocus in particular, but this is an encouraging direction from Rebor. More like this!

SidB

I certainly like what Rebor are doing here, but like some others, I have a reluctance in acquiring one, as I have the Eofauna, the Wild Safari, new and old Carnegies, the Favorite and even an old Salvat, as well as the elegant retro Invicta. Enough is enough, I suppose.

Halichoeres

S @SidB do you have the smaller Favorite "Soft Model" or the larger vinyl model?
