Quote from: Flaffy on November 01, 2023, 07:08:04 PMWas just about to pledge, but noticed that the cost of international shipping is quite high unfortunately. Meaning that for me at least, the cost difference of getting these figures from the Kickstarter versus directly from EverythingDinosaur once they release ends up around the same if not a bit more. :-\

Not the fault of David of course, just lamenting the cost of everything crisis we're in right now... I guess on the upside this gives me more time to wait and see how the BotM Carnotaurus turns out, along with other non-KS species like the Andrewsarchus.

David said that Everything Dinosaur will handle the shipping for Europe, which should make it cheaper than usual. He has even been answering a lot of questions about the shipping costs lately and said that he'll adress that, perhaps you should try contacting him to see what he can offer in that regard  :)

And the Yutyrannus is unlocked now! 2 more goals remaining! The hardest to reach will be the Lizard/Forest Dragon at $575K, but I think the Yutyrannus set should at least get unlocked before it ends tomorrow.

Edit: And just after I post this, I see that David shared a video from Matt on the FB page of the paint WIP of that dragon. Looks so cool.

Here's some screencaps I took of it:

Holy Mackerel! That forest dragon looks epic and really incredibly awesome, whoa! And the paint work is incredible as well. Also awesome yutyrannus has been funded, just the armor set, and the forest dragon, very close.

Also something really cool I noticed, if you look at the yutyrannus armor stretch goal set, and if you look at the unfinished art piece, you can see a new species of dragon with a spinosaurus or dimetrodon like sail on the back with a nasal horn and two curved horns on the skull and a protected spiked tail to. Looks really cool!

Pliosaurking

That dragon looks phenomenal! I was only really interested in the dinosaurs and not the fantasy elements, but I'd be lying if I said that dragon isn't extremely tempting!

Faelrin

Here's another look at it, since it is added to the campaign page now. I kind of like the scientific name given to it as well. It suggests it's either an evolved monitor lizard, or genetically modified. Or perhaps completely unrelated species, but named in a similar fashion. Really can't wait to see the lore on this one.

That is so cool that the dragon is a monitor lizard! Monitor lizards are among my favorite animals, I even keep one!

It's definitely a mix of lizard species. I see elements of Corytophanes and Draco in there.

David, Ross, and Chris are doing a livestream on youtube during the last hour of the campaign tomorrow (8pm EST). Thought I would give folks a heads up for anyone that might be interested.

Concavenator

Quote from: Concavenator on October 24, 2023, 03:58:49 PMAt the end of the day, I'm not really concerned about the possibility of the Carnotaurus not being funded. As of right now, it seems unlikely it will get funded in the actual campaign (I very much hope to be proven wrong), but I guess it will get funded with BackerKit regardless, as previously said.

It is my great pleasure to inform that I was wrong.

That Carnotaurus looks fantastic, but I'll surely prefer the B&W BotM variant, inspired by the Argentine black and white tegu (Salvator merianae). I don't associate Carnotaurus with warm colors myself.

Also, I MUCH prefer the BotM variant's color schemes of Yutyrannus and Dryptosaurus over the Cyberzoic's.

Has the BotM version of the Carnotaurus been revealed already? I thought the Cyberzoic one was also inspired by the Argentine Tegu as well, albiet the more colourful morphs/specimens.

Concavenator

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy AFAIK, the color scheme for the BotM variant hasn't been shown yet.The Cyberzoic is also inspired by the same lizard, but David mentioned he also took some inspiration from tigers:

I remembered he said he was going to base the Carnotaurus off the Argentine black and white tegu, and in the comments section of that post, David confirmed it: the BotM variant's color scheme will be more rigorously based on that lizard's color scheme.

Come join. Got about 34 minutes left before the campaign ends. David also unlocked the lizard dragon to help get it funded right before the campaign ends. Let's go!

Forest Dragon unlocked. Wow, this is pretty crazy at the end, I upped my pledge and still didn't get the Forest Dragon during the kickstarter.  I guess will have to grab it in the backerkit.

edit: Nevermind, still 6 mins to go, got the dragon as well.

Pliosaurking

Glad to see how well that ended and that everything was completely funded! I ended up pledging for the Utahraptor and added the Carnotaurus on, can't wait for them!

Also I watched the livestream and there's a very exciting future for this line, especially that Spinosaurus and Ceratosaurus!

I don't recall there ever being mention of a Spinosaurus.

avatar_suspsy @suspsy They talked about it during the livestream. I think David said Cyberzoic 3 or something like that? Kind of lost track with how much family drama was going on as I was trying to watch it, so I need to recheck that out. There was also talk about a Voltron styled Spinosaurus made from armor pieces that could potentially happen down the line.

I do also remember David dropping hints about Argenteus having a bird mount later on in the story or series, with a name that sounds like his. Could it be the one and only Argentavis?

The spinosaurus was definitely mentioned 100%. Ankylosaurus mentioned, theri mentioned, herbivorous dragons mentioned and shown in the yutyrannus art, water clan mentioned, very mysterious clan, and giganotosaurus mentioned as well.   Also Faelrin  that sounds awesome, really hope it's the giant Cenozoic flying  bird Argentavis,  that would be cool! Also the spino armor to.
