When did RECUR went from making simple dinosaur toys to make the most beautiful Sinoceratops and Cryolophosaurus models I have ever seen?

The Cryolophosaurus, specially. The blues, the feathers...

Their recent Triceratops is almost exactly the same size as the EoFauna, if that has any indication of how they plan to scale the line.

There were inklings of their improvement with their last wave of PVC dinosaurs, but these two beauties certainly solidifies Recur as an up and coming competitor in the market.

The PNSO and Haolonggood Sinoceratops are the closest direct competition to the Recur version. The former having corn-cob like scaling & crude glossy face paint; while the latter is missing diagnostic features. Hopefully the Recur version will improve on both.

Any real competition the Recur Cryolophosaurus could've had are now retired (e.g. Carnegie). I reckon it'll reign supreme.

Newer units of the PNSO Sinoceratops don't have a glossy face.  Mine is like this.  Regarding Cryolophosaurus, the Wild Safari version is excellent and still available.

There's also the feathered TNG for what it is worth as well.

Oh shoots I've forgotten it released. Yes accounting for the Safari 2022 Cryolophosaurus, then the Recur one does have competition afterall. The Recur Cryolophosaurus being feathered is a major plus for me that being said.

Recur's previous Cryolophosaurus for reference. Night and day difference.

Quite crude proportions and awkward anatomy imo. TNG's dinosaurs aren't the strongest, especially when compared to their mammals.

Oh I was just mentioning that it wasn't retired (might have misunderstood your post?), but yeah I do prefer this new Recur one vastly more. That said I do appreciate that the TNG one is the first feathered one to hit the market, even if the proportions could have been better. I think the coloration on it is nice as well (but I am certainly biased a bit more to the new blue Recur one).

JimoAi

still waiting for that carnotaurus

crazy8wizard

I'm hoping for a full reveal of that exceptionally awesome Giganotosaurus

Halichoeres

That's not bad! I wonder what the odds are for a wider release of their Sinosaurus, maybe with a new coat of paint?

A bit blurry but a couple more angles from Baidu

Joliezac

I don't have anything from Recur. These look great! Although I wish the blue wasn't as bright with the cryo.

Faelrin

I really hope Lana Time Store gets these in, if not their Amazon store. Really need that Cryolophosaurus.

Also has anyone heard when the dinosaur egg set is releasing? What I've seen of it so far looks extremely promising and many of the figures would be perfect in my miniature collection.

Faelrin

No idea. I asked them a bit ago on instagram, and they said it would be available soon on their amazon store, but it still isn't there. They don't have the ocean set either there. Just the Farm and Wildlife sets.

On a similar note, I wonder when the T. rex and Dimorphodon figures will become available?

Maybe when the egg does!  :))
I also recall seeing a Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus, and Giganotosaurus on Paleofiguras' facebook. Those are still floating around in limbo to my knowledge

suspsy

I really wish that Recur had named their new Tyrannosaurus rex "Barnum" instead of "Osborne." Barnum Brown, who discovered and dug up T. rex in 1902, was a colourful, outgoing adventurer who wore a fur coat at dig sites and worked as an intelligence asset for OSS during WWI. Whereas Henry Fairfield Osborne, who named T. rex in 1905, was an unabashed racist and a proponent of eugenics.

If Lana is selling their other figures, maybe they can be convinced to sell the egg too.

FYI, Dejankins is expecting seven of the new Recur dinosaurs in early December.
