Please no!

PLEASE YES! I wrote a story with the species! (though i can't publish it anymore i fear :( )

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres I think you might have missed my question, but are you sure Safari's Pachyrhinosaurus is in 1:40 scale? I get the impression it might be larger than that.

Sorry to bother and thank you in advance.  :)

Oh and I believe your shelves would be grateful if you replaced the BotM Utahceratops with HLG's!

Wait, why can't you publish it?

Sorry if I missed it elsewhere! No, I don't think it's 1:40. It's possible that when I first bought it I got that scale by using the total length of the largest species, but in my spreadsheet I have it at 1:25. I guess I should edit the post with the photo, which would be from the very early days of my collection.

And yeah, the BotM Utahceratops is definitely going to be on its way out. Lovely figure, but huge and articulated. The HLG one will fit in better.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Thank you for checking!  :) 1:25 is what I was expecting indeed. So it should scale well with figures like Safari's Einiosaurus, Anzu, Qianzhousaurus and Utahraptor as well as PNSO's Pachycephalosaurus.

I'm gonna say it's political and leave it at that haha.

Sim

Well, you were right about a larger Maip being made for 2025...  Enjoy, or not :P

So I'm the only one of us happy about it haha

I think CollectA's Maip is very good, although the feathery crest feels out of place IMO. It might've benefited from a more interesting color scheme too.

Primeval12

Ya, like bring the color patterns of the Ceratosaurus hahah

I don't love the crest either. It's not a bad figure overall, just not the taxon I'd have chosen. Hey, but for dorks like me there's Jaekelopterus.

You are definitely happier about it than I am, but perhaps I exaggerate my displeasure for the sake of the JP reference.

I wouldn't have chosen it either.  :P As far as megaraptorans are concerned, I think only Megaraptor is a (relatively) good choice for a figure, and Haolonggood already did it justice. Pretty much all megaraptorid depictions are just Megaraptor with different names, so they come off as redundant, IMO (sort of like the multiple titanosaurians).

I figured you'd be pretty happy with the Jaekelopterus! That's the sort of taxon you could only expect CollectA to tackle.

Speaking of titanosaurians... will you be replacing CollectA's Argentinosaurus with the ginormous Haolonggood one? And will you be replacing Safari's Majungasaurus with HLG's, since the latter is in a smaller scale?

BTW, where did you get those stands? They're pretty neat! Would be useful for those non-PNSO/HLG aquatic creatures (since those companies include some sort of stand with their aquatic stuff, not others like CollectA/Safari). In CollectA's or Safari's case, I can see why they wouldn't bother including stands like those (since purportedly their main target are kids), but for collectors who get their figures to display them, the fact that they don't include anything to raise them is sort of a bummer, at least to me.

crazy8wizard

I think these are the stands that came with the Invicta sea creatures but I could be wrong.

I think they're reprints or something like that. The real ones are clear.

But it would be handy to have some if there's a file out there

The ones my boss owns have white stands. Maybe they were an earlier release.

Sim

As far as I'm aware unpainted Invicta figures came with the white stands, the later, painted versions came with the clear stands.

I have an unpainted ichthyosaur with a clear stand... maybe they just mixed it up with different productions.

EDIT--Looking again, the tops look flatter, I'm wondering if those are the Shapeways ones made by Manuel Bejarano after all (the Invicta have a small depression).

Halichoeres

The Dolichorhynchops is indeed on a 3d-printed stand from Shapeways. It only works for very small things because the top is totally flat, lacking the indentation that lets the genuine article support a larger figure by its belly. The others are on what I think are genuine Invicta stands. I have two that I purchased by themselves from an ebay seller. They are remarkably versatile and I wish more companies would emulate them.

Concavenator, to your other question, yes, I do plan to get the Argentinosaurus. I don't claim to be consistent, and I find sauropods a lot more appealing than most theropods!

Too bad Shapeways lost all of their files during the bankruptcy issue. Would be nice if someone else made one.

Or just scanned the real ones into a printable file

Concavenator

Thanks everyone! Seems like those stands can't be readily gotten after all...

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Yeah hopefully more companies would include something similar. I guess PNSO and HLG will be including some stands with their upcoming Mosasaurus figures but uhhh... that's really the only non-dinosaur I can see them releasing in the foreseeable future.  :P

And you've got a titan getting into your house that's for sure!  :o
