FUTABA

Congrats Jetoar! Looking forward to the pics.

I went on a holiday to Dorset recently and got quite a few items, took some photos on my friend's dad's camera. Just waiting for the photos to be sent.
I really really like blue things.

Seijun

I found another unofficial carnegie metal recast, the apatosaurus this time.

My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

An inferior copy...but hey, at least its tail is off the ground >:D

Oops, made a boo-boo- the Carnegie isn't a tail dragger :-[ My bad

This just in... I'm glad I managed to find this book. The dust jacket and cover have some wear, a bit damaged by the weather I guess, but hey, at least I didn't pay 600 bucks for it as Amazon is asking, right? It's hardcover and the interior/pages are like new!

I have that book! But the Spanish version  8)

Gwangi

Ikessauro, can we get some pictures of the inside of the book? I'm wondering how similar it is to "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs" that I already have...also by Dougal Dixon.

Nebuloid

I'm wondering the same thing, plus is it the same as "The World Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs...". Because it has the same cover ?

I think it's the same Nebuloid. It has it all, from the part on early tetrapods all the way to the most recent mammals. I'll provide a look inside for you guys.

That book rocks...tons of species and lots of pretty pictures.

Indeed it does. Until Greg Paul's new book came out it was my go-to reference book for dinosaurs. For some things, it still is. Some of the artwork is amazing but I must admit there is another artist in there who's work just doesn't cut it for me. So while I like the artwork for the pages on the "Advanced Abelisaurids" I don't much care for the artwork on the pages for "Early Meat-Eaters".

So from what I can see, it has non dinosaurs (amphibians, reptiles, early birds, and mammals) from before the time of the dinosaurs, and after their extinction, and everything in between, in addition to the other stuff was already in the book.

Gwangi

Thanks! As I suspected the dinosaur portions are the same as in the book I have. Still wouldn't mind having it for the non-dinosaur stuff.

Just a knee-jerk correction here, TQ - early birds most definitely qualify as dinosaurs. ;)

When I was watching the video I saw the pages on early birds and wondered why they didn't include them in the dinosaur only version. I guess I know why but I don't like the answer.

Jetoar

Thanks for shaaring the video friend  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

EmperorDinobot

A lot of several JP Dinos that I actually intend to sell, a semi-complete Net-Trapper that I bought for the net and the gun to help complete my other two net-trappers (which I also intend to sell), and a complete Ajay from TLW.

Got this little Velociraptor from Ebay. They said it was Kaiyodo but the markings say Yujin and it's a much softer, less brittle material than the Kaiyodo Dinotales tend to be. As there were no instructions I guessed how he was meant to be assembled but although I think I got it right it just doesn't look right. All the proportions are way off and the backdrop scenery does it no favours and means it can only be viewed from one angle, and even then it's not convincing. Forget the ironically 2D '3D' scenery though and the Velo is kinda cute, although his feathered arms are again unconvincing with the plumage starting at the wrist and cutting off abruptly just before it reaches the shoulder, which leaves an unsightly and awkward gap.

And yes, blurry photo is blurry.

These Smithsonian ( I think...) dino-riders came in today, and a game to add to the JP game collection :

Love the little protoceratops !

Gwangi

The Protoceratops is one of the best out of the Tyco line. I really like the Kentrosaurus too, I still need one of those.
