Yeah I mean you only want MORE if it's good.

I'm honestly really happy with this new Mosasaurus design, it's not perfect of course but its so much better than the other one. Just the simple addition of the shark fin is going to do wonders for palaeomedia.
This is the most influencial palaeo series of all time, every detail matters and honestly I can't think of anything missing or wrongly added here. You could argue for or against a forked tongue, I suppose.

The colours are so beautiful. What do we think, does it make sense for it to have those, being an open ocean predator? I think it looks visually appealing at the least.

We have a name for the mutant from the French Smyths website:

JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH---the sequel has received a PG-13 rating due to "intense sequences of violence/action, bloody images, some suggestive references, language and a drug reference."

My thoughts on the Distortus rex.

Spoiler
If we are to believe Colin Trevorrow, it is not a hybrid. Of course, since it doesn't appear that he is involved in this film, this can be taken with a grain of salt.

Since part of the premise of this film is that this is yet another island (that no one has brought up in 30+ years) where the dinos were created, but now houses the ones that didn't cook right or were too dangerous for the parks, D-rex is a mutation that has somehow survived.

Specifically, I think it was originally a case of conjoined twins, my bet would be either heteropagus or craniopagus.
  • The larger forelimbs are actually either (1) the malformed hind legs of one twin, or (2) an amalgamation of the hind legs of one twin & the arms of the other twin. This explains why the animal has 6 limbs altogether.
  • The large bulbous "melon" of the animal represents the malformed cranium of one of the twins. Whether hatched in this shape, or the primary twin absorbed some of the second's features over time is unknown. My only issue is that it is so symmetrical. Most cases in real life don't have such symmetry and smoothness.
  • I personally do not think the D-rex has any "special abilities" derived from that big noggin. However, anything is possible, I suppose. Time will tell.
  • How did it survive so long? Maybe some assisting care from the existing tyrannosaurs on the island. After all, it is supposed to be a T. rex, so it should give off the scent and pheromones of a T. rex. Once it became a force to be reckoned with, it scared off its closest kin, perhaps unintentionally...which is kind of sad to think about as I sit here typing it out.....I may need a minute.  :(

Soo..a new article about the film dropped a pretty big spoiler for the film.
Read this at your own risk:

Spoiler
And that's not all. As well as the D-Rex, we'll meet the winged Mutadons, "a combination of a pterosaur and a Raptor," says screenwriter David Koepp, who previously penned both Jurassic Park and The Lost World. "Those came from my strange mind," he tells Empire of Rebirth's mutants. "We saw in some of the previous Jurassic World movies that their experiments made dinosaurs bigger, meaner, scarier, and it occurred to me and Steven [Spielberg] that those can't all have gone well." Sometimes, life shouldn't have found a way.

And according to somebody who saw footage at CinemaCon of this, Andrew Salazar on Twitter:

Spoiler
They're huge ass raptors with no feathers and pteranodon wings for arms with skin membranes. They walk with their hands folded like chickens when they aren't flying.

That's gonna be... something alright.

I wasn't going to look at the spoilers but then it was spoiled for me anyway on social media.

Spoiler
Kind of happy that it was spoiled because that WOULD NOT have been a pleasant surprise. My heart sank a little reading about that. As if my expectations couldn't get any lower.

I swear, this just sounds worse and worse. Somebody stop Koepp already.

It's too late as far as this movie goes but maybe it will flop hard and prevent him from doing another. Rebirth is making the World franchise look like high art.

CityRaptor

Okay, those spoilers sound wild....and not in a good way.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Dilopho

My opinion is that I actually...am kind of interested in seeing this, but I'm worryinig that the movie is becoming too packed.
It already felt juicy enough, I don't want another Dominion situation where there's just too much stuff going on that everything gets thinned down into being insignificant.

CityRaptor

Well,  if you go in with low expectations, you might not end up getting disappointed.

Writer David Koepp compared REBIRTH to the earlier movies that starred Chris Pratt, "The last few movies were exploring the idea of, 'Hey, what would it be like if they were in our environment?' They did that very well, and now we wanted to explore how it felt to go back to theirs. We wanted to recapture the idea that we are in the dinosaurs' environment."

Social Media already spoiled me but I was like, nah, that not possible...
Spoiler
So we are back to hybrids, except this time we going full Chaos Effect instead of something that looks "realistic" like the Indos...

WTF?!

And to think that for a moment, the idea of "maybe I should give it a chance and the mutant somehow works" crossed my head...
