Apparently, they do not provide shipping to other EU countries, except for Belgium :

Aw shucks, thanks for providing the info. Guess I'll have to be patient a bit longer, just like the other international members! At least this way I can guilt-free-ly wait for inhand pictures and reviews, though!
FYI this French online store provides an international shipping service and Sucho is in stock  ;)

looks like about 40.00 euros for shipping to the US.

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Abobo

thank you for the links everyone!

Wow indeed... Actually, it's due to the fact that they offer a premium shipping option called "Colissimo International".

The German seller to whom avatar_StickyDan @StickyDan bought his figure is also on Ebay and he seems to provide a less expensive shipping option (which, I assume, doesn't include the custom fees) :

Perhaps, it would be wiser to wait for a few more weeks, until it's available in the US but right now, it's still difficult to anticipate its listing price there.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Feels very PNSO in quality? Bit of a snarl there in the front of the mouth, some smoother areas are odd where all the detail is otherwise, but it's a very nice model.  I see a couple Germany based sellers on eBay with cheaper shipping.

PrimevalRaptor

Glad that it actually looks that good in-hand. This is the Papo that always made me excited when they revealed new figures.
Hoping the one store here that stocks Papo gets them in-store so I can grab one in person and check for paint app etc (doubt it tho, they had the Mosasaurus listed on the website but never in-store)
Anyway a really really great model!

Watching this video was like watching the world's most convincing Loch Ness Monster sighting. It looks so real... but can't possibly be true! XD

In all seriousness though, this looks to be one of, if not the nicest figures Papo has ever produced. Papo has existed in the dino toy space for like 20 years now, but kind of faded away for a while there. The dino toy landscape shifted a lot since Papo's heyday, but this figure really feels like a stab at the more "scientific realism" type dinosaur figures we've been getting from PNSO and Haolonggood during Papo's absence.
And I think this Suchomimus absolutely holds its own against them.

Looks like the paint had a downgrade from the prototype (that was shown at the one toy fair), like the Spinosaurus, perhaps to be expected though. Not seeing the elaborate markings that come up from the belly's cream color, and the spots on the back look to be simplified in their application (less subtle). The face looks good though, and the tail still has its stripes.

Still very glad to see this one getting the day of light at all, and still hope to get it someday, as the real draw is still the sculpt itself. It would display nicely next to its bigger cousin.

That looks like the best Papo model I've ever seen

It's heeeeereee  <:j Rupi might have been faster than me, but I'll still share some pictures. (Bonus plushies in the background. It was unfortunately the only spot with halfway decent lighting in my apartment  :*D)

And what a beauty it is!

The eyes are very well painted! Something I noticed on my model, however, is that the facial markings, especially the white stripes, are fainter on the left side of the face than on the right. Not sure if it's just my model. The seam at the back of the head is also unfortunately quite noticeable on that side (though it looks less bad in hand than on that photo!).

The mouth opens very smoothly, and quite wide:

However, just like Rupi's copy, the head is a bit warped, though I think less so on my copy than on his:

Some more notes on my copy:
  • it's in a tripod stand; it's leaning on the claws of its right hand.
  • while the underside of the neck has some lovely detail, the belly detail is very washed out and it's almost entirely lost on the underside of the tail. The color changes from a bright beige on the throat to a greenish tone on the belly + underside of the tail. Some other areas also have that loss of detail, like the hands, toes, and the back of the right thigh, where it connects to the tail
  • There is a ton of lovely detail ... I feeel like a dark wash would have helped to make it stand out even better
  • The stripes on the left side of the tail don't add up to the stripes on the right side ... Not sure if that is intentional or not?
  • my figure feels a bit ... sticky? in parts. I don't know how to explain it. It doesn't leave any residue on my hands or anything, though.
  • the material used feels similar to the Papo Allosaurus or Acrocanthosaurus to me, in case anyone was curious about haptics :)

And some more pictures:

In conclusion, the figure is not as nice as the prototype, but I guess that was to be expected. I don't know if I'd agree to this being on par with PNSO, but it is an overall lovely figurine for it's price point, and with a striking pose to boot! I'm very happy to add it to my collection  ^-^

avatar_StickyDan @StickyDan these images are super appreciated, thank you. Rupi's videos have super harsh lighting and heavy contrast and this shows the figure in more natural light. I honestly think it looks nicer in your pictures than it did in the video. The warped snouts are a little scary, though.

PrimevalRaptor

Those additional pictures are great! (Also nice to see Slither Wing :D)
Even if it's not quite on par with the prototype it's still a real looker. Something I didn't really notice before but the red paint on the face is a great touch.

Pliosaurking

Can't wait to get that figure in!

avatar_StickyDan @StickyDan Thank you so much for the images, and even describing how it feels in a tactile way. I liked the material of the Allosaurus, so I'm glad to see it feels similar (aside from the sticky thing). I have autism so these little things can be crucial at times. Also welcome to the forum in case you are new here.

Like avatar_DavidJamesArmsby @DavidJamesArmsby I think it looks better in your images then in the review video from Rupi, whose videos lighting do tend to distort the colorations of the figures depicted (compared with more natural lighting). I did not pick up on those darker green stripes near the belly in the video for example.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin You're welcome! For me, how certain materials feel is super important to me, and I know there's others out there who care about it, too, so I like mentioning it :) (I really like how most Haolonggood figurines feel, for example :D)

That said, as I mentioned in my original post, I don't really know how to describe the stickyness of the Sucho. It's not a real stickyness, as in, leaving residue on my hands or dust getting stuck to it - not at all. Maybe rubbery-ness would be a better descriptor? Though I feel that doesn't quite describe it, either. It's just an odd quality of the material, I guess. It's not too bad, though. The Papo Acrocanthosaurus and some newer PNSO figurines have a similar "sticky" feeling for me, if a little less pronounced.

avatar_DavidJamesArmsby @DavidJamesArmsby Yeah, the warped snout is a shame :( Though I guess I was lucky, the warping really is minimal compared to Rupi's Sucho  :*D  That said, the warping really mostly visible from the front, it's not visible at all from a side-view. Funnily enough, despite being warped, the mouth closes perfectly. The material is also quite soft, so I think it's something that should be quite easy to fix with some hot water.

Concavenator

avatar_StickyDan @StickyDan Congrats on the Suchomimus!! And thank you for sharing those pics with us.  :)

May I ask if I can pass on your pics to Paleofiguras, so that they can repost them? Of course, you will be given credit for them.

That's why I'd like to ask for your permission.

Trenchcoated Rebbachisaur

Dang, it looks really good. does it fit 1:35 scale? I will probably get it either way but if it is the right size it'll get to sit with the HLG and PNSO figures, and the odd Safari/CollectA gem in the range  <:j

SidB

An impressive figure, all told. I'm a bit torn whether or not to order it since I already have the PNSO one. I agree with the comment that it might be the best Papo dinosaur release to date. I'll wait a bit in any case before deciding.

Joliezac

Gorgeous!! I think it will look sick with my PNSO one. Hoping Everything Dinosaur gets it in soon! Thank you for the video link and images!

Quiversaurus

avatar_StickyDan @StickyDan Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures!! It really looks like Papo has returned (:

Do you by any chance also have the PNSO Sucho? Would you be able to share some comparison pics if so? Wondering how these two will look together!
