Torosaurus released now:

That Torosaurus is 3 cm smaller than their Pentaceratops.

As if it were not enough that they always dwarf their hadrosaurus, now they managed to even dwarf the Torosaurus.

Meh, those length measurements in the promos are not good for actually calculating the mass of the figure. Just using the listed lengths of these figures would make the Pentaceratops the largest ceratopsian Haolonggood have made, but the Triceratops is considerably larger. Both are also a bit too huge for 1:35 scale too. I think price is a better indication of how large these models will be as it seems pretty consistent. The smaller, the cheaper.
This model is worryingly (and wonderfully) cheap, though. Its price is closest to Pentaceratops/Amargasaurus. Probably still too small for what a lot of people want.

Quote from: Sim on June 20, 2025, 02:17:16 AMwas Mosasaurus confirmed too?  I wish the stegosaurian was a remade Dacentrurus, rather than called Miragaia...

That's right, they have a Mosasaurus coming (PNSO does as well).

And at this point a Miragaia figure is probably the same thing as a remade Dacentrurus, only thing that changes is its name.

Speaking of which, I'm very much looking forward to the Miragaia. That's the one I'm most hyped about (wonderful creature and HLG's stegosaurians are great), along with the Iguanodon.

And if that sauropod turns out to be Diplodocus, there's a very good chance it'll be my first HLG sauropod.

While I too am starting to get tired of all of the 'waves and squigglies', Torosaurus is a species I have been wanting for a while so very excited for this one!!!!

Well I've bucked the general trend and ordered the grey from Wanhatoys.

Same color variant for me! Both are gorgeous in my eyes, and I had a tough time choosing. I thought I'd be sure which one to get by now, but haha ... nope. In the end, I feel like regardless of which one I would have chosen, I'd be happy with it, so I'm fine either way. But I am also an absolute sucker for yellow and blue color combinations, so that swayed my decision in the end. To me it also looks like the detail pops a little more on this one than the brown, which is a nice plus.

Thanks.  At this point I'm not sure if I should still expect the rumoured species from Haolonggood and PNSO.  It's been so long since they were said to be coming and all sorts of other species are being released instead.  It could be a case similar to those PNSO dinosaurs with bases, such as Microraptor and Huayangosaurus, that were shown but never released, with the Gigantoraptor and Sinosauropteryx being converted into bronze statues.

As I said before, that those figures are confirmed doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be the next releases in line.

Off the top of my head, here are some examples:

- An updated Museum Line Spinosaurus was confirmed since at least August 2021 and ultimately ended up being released in December 2023 (after more than 2 years).

- Tyrannotitan and Baryonyx were confirmed since 2023 and ended up being released in 2024.

What I would NOT hold my breath on being released are those genera HLG stated they were working on in response to fans' suggestions. Genera like Hungarosaurus, etc. IIRC at some point a lot of people started suggesting species to HLG and they were mostly answering people the same thing: "confirmed", "on the works", or something along those lines. There were even people claiming: "These are all the species that have been mentioned to be confirmed".  :*D

A different story however are teasers like these, which we can see getting accomplished over time:

And the species that aren't featured on the teaser but Paleofiguras mentioned were coming (Shantungosaurus, Iguanodon, Miragaia and Mosasaurus) I would count on eventually being released as well. Well, the release of the Shantungosaurus is drawing near.

Paleofiguras shared first in hand pictures of Torosaurus:

If I had to decide between them I would pick up the orange one 8)

Starting to lean that way myself.

Paleofiguras posted a Torosaurus unboxing video on their Facebook page.

If I have seen this correctly, the figure has these chain male type scales on the underside like we know it from PNSO ceratopsians.

So far so good, I really like Haolonggood torosaurus, might be their best figure to date in my opinion. Happy it doesn't have a mouth articulation since that messed up the anatomy on pnso toro a bit. There not only it's jaw appear to be lengthen since the joint is so far back, it also pushes it's ear holes too high up. It's ears should be pretty much were the joint itself is.IMG_20250624_225407.jpg
Here I marked where the jaw joints are in a figure and an actual skull.

Sim

I think the area at the back of the PNSO Torosaurus's jaw can simply be interpreted as extra soft tissue.  As for the ear position, many PNSO figures have it in an incorrect place.

I think they mean that the hinge where the jaw articulates on the PNSO model is simply in the wrong place, throwing off the anatomy of the head when it's in an open position. This is super common on dino toys and isn't too bad on the PNSO Torosaurus but it is still definitely present. I have to look out for this constantly while animating/rigging my dino models.
A good example of hinge position being VERY noticeably wrong is on a lot of the Hammond Collection herbivores (Pachycephalosaurus, Parasaurolophus, ect) where the jaw articulates way too far down the snout and looks as if the bottom jaw is snapped in half when it opens.

DavidJamesArmsby

Here's a quick demonstration of the difference between articulating the jaw from both points. The difference is subtle, but the PNSO does look a little dislocated when opened because the hinge is located too far back. But again; it's far from the worst example of this
...and I have no idea what they're doing with the Hammond Collection herbivores. XD
