Think I just turned a corner on the grey variant

Concavenator

After all, I think I'll be grabbing the grey Brontosaurus as I initially thought (though the orange variant looks good too!). It'd make for a more noticeable contrast when compared to the upcoming brown Diplodocus variant, and grey apatosaurines just feel right to me.

Interestingly, PNSO showed a Shunosaurus illustration with a color scheme that's very similar to the orange brontosaur's:

All the more reason for me to choose the grey Brontosaurus, because if PNSO releases a Shunosaurus (which might have the same color scheme, or a similar one) it'll be a must have, and it and the orange Brontosaurus would look like they're wearing the same uniform.  :*D

Quote from: Sim on August 15, 2025, 09:39:55 PMI used to think CollectA was the best at sauropods, with Eofauna a very close second, but I now give that achievement to Haolonggood.

HLG's sauropods have admittedly become fantastic. At first, I thought they were overrated. Their first sauropod that I consider to be really good was their Mamenchisaurus. I'm not a big fan of their sauropods prior to it, but the Mamenchisaurus and the sauropods released after it I think are great (including the Amargasaurus, which I think is a beautiful figure despite its inaccuracies).

If Eofauna or PNSO were to release big sauropods in 1:35 scale like HLG does, on average I'd probably choose them over HLG's versions in the same scale. But that doesn't happen (Camarasaurus aside, which both HLG and PNSO released, and Camarasaurus isn't that big for sauropod standards), and my preferred scale is 1:35, so if HLG offers a nice figure of a big sauropod I'm interested in in 1:35 scale, it's just going to have the preference over smaller versions by other companies, no doubt about that.

So while I'm not sure I'd say HLG's sauropods are better than PNSO's/Eofauna's, they're most definitely comparable nowadays, and as I said, they've gotten excellent, and that's all it matters in my book.

its funny because usually I would go for the duller one but that brown and blue just keep pulling me in. Waiting for dinodragons review on this bad boy before I pull the trigger tho

As I posted before, I preordered the grey Brontosaurus, but the orange on the head reminds me of the red snood on a turkey.

EDIT---I just looked at my HLG Argentinosaurus and Alamosaurus and they also have the orange "snood"---but it's less obvious on these two because of their more varied color pattern. I hope it's not too obvious on the HLG Brontosaurus.

Who's to say sauropods couldn't have snoods?  ????

Did you see the photos i posted here? I couldn't so i deleted them.   ????

If only PNSO would make something of that Huanghetitan size again...

Also why there is no Brontosaurus & Apatosaurus comparision pics yet.. That would be most helpful to compare.

Yes, I did - but, of course, now they are gone.

Lingwulong and Apatosaurus are in last pic. Lingwulong is 19 m , Apatosaurus is 23 m for 1:35. I think it's safe to say Brontosaurus will be around 1:35.

It's just PNSO Camarasaurus is such a beast despite short lenght. Ronnie Coleman of sauropod models.

After the Lingwulong I'm really surprised that in the 3 years since, PNSO haven't done any other diplodicids? The amount of material used for the Lingwulong would probably be less than the material needed to make a 1:35 Diplodocus.

Quote from: Carnoking on August 15, 2025, 06:03:10 PMHuh... you know the grey might actually be more appealing to me.

To my surprise now I think that I like the grey one a little bit more.

I don't know, but the red nose and the red spines look like a cool contrast to the calming grey-blue with the sandy countershading.

The brown one looks a little stressy now.

I am very surprised about myself...good I have not ordered yet

The brown variant is certainly more visually striking but it's almost too busy in its design and application. The grey just has a soothing and immediately believable paint job in my eyes.

Granted, you could say that about the original Apatosaurus duo but there's something different about this bronto that I just can't put my finger on.
