I wish they went with some different colors, to be honest. At the very least, having the variants available in different color schemes. Maybe they'll release them further down. Those who are familiar with Rebor products, are they known to release different color schemes down the line?

There's actually a thread dedicated to these figures in the Rebor board.

You're right - my bad! Didn't see a 2022 thread, but it looks like Rebor has its own thread.

Due to the way Rebor releases its figures, we don't have a dedicated "New for X" thread for them every year.

No honestly, this thread is very welcome. These  figs will possibly receive more attention here than in the Rebor subforum.

I recently regained interest in Rebor purely after discovering a few days ago that their awesome new Saurophaganax is a thing, and also the Grab n' Go T. Rex, only after surfing BBToys for a little bit. Thinking of acquiring both now.

However, these figures never received their own posts in the Rebor subforum here that I could find. The only discussion I could find for either of them in here involved surfing way, way back through the "Rebor General Discussion" thread. All of you piling on, directing people to that subforum, please just get out.

Having its own subforum is already more exposure than any other brand gets, and these figures have a thread there with more replies than most topics in this subforum, so I don't see the point in this extra thread. It's better to keep discussion of the same topic in one thread. Splitting discussion just means people have to read two threads and don't know in which one to post.

My thread on Kiss and Tusk is literally right at the top of the Rebor subforum

Also, nobody is "piling on." Just informing somebody that there are other threads for this elsewhere. Nobody is trying to be aggressive or hurtful in any way, shape or form.

Either give them a single "new for 20XX" thread and keep it up to date with all announcements, and remove the subforum, or keep the subforum instead of a new for 20xx.

At the time REBOR were the only company doing spontaneous releases like this (well, there was Favorite also Kinto), but now a few others are doing it so it feels weird to keep the subforum at this point.

I like the Rebor subthread, I only don't understand why other companies don't have one as well. Would be much more suitable to talk about specific releases under specific brands.

Giving every major company a subforum would require a huge forum restructure though

Am I really the first person to comment on Dippy? I hope they can really lean into accuracy here - let's see if they can outdo Eofauna!

avatar_Darko2300 @Darko2300 There's been some discussion of it in the Rebor forum and the general thread there. But you are the first here. I think most of the discussion has been had over there possibly because it might be too early to say when this will release yet, aside from that typically always being the place to discuss this stuff here on the forum for some time.

Aw. So much for being special.  ;D (Thanks, though - I'll have to jump over there!)

While Rebor isn't the only company that has rolling releases, it is easily the most unpredictable. If Favorite shows a prototype you usually know immediately when it will be released, usually 3 months or so. If Rebor shows a prototype, it might be 3 months, or 3 years, or never. I think that makes "New for 20xx" threads hard to maintain accurately.

I think if there are to be yearly threads for Rebor releases it should focus on things actually releasing/up for pre-order that year only. The general forum would be better for discussing everything else if and up until they get released.

So for this year so far we have the new Tiger Smilodon repaint, the three Saurophaganax versions, Kiss and Tusk Tyrannosaurus, and the base 2 pack that went up for pre-order today. All of these are either expected to release this year or already have. The op in turn should have the missing releases I mentioned added.

If Rebor ever 'outdoes' Eofauna in accuracy, I'll eat my hat ;D

Lynx

I'm gonna be honest, I don't think they will for this figure. It's great! But I don't think it will outdo em till I see more screenshots.

I applaud Rebor for venturing into releasing accurate figures. Although when it comes to Diplodocus and Tyrannosaurus specifically, I will be going with Eofauna's versions, but if Rebor continues to release accurate figures, I may be forced to get some at some point. Rebor's figures had always had the quality, but I wasn't their target. It seems like I am, now that they apparently want to release scientifically accurate figures.

It's also a smart marketing strategy: if you only release pop-culture models, you would only attract pop-culture fans. If you only release scientifically accurate figures, you would only attract people who care about scientific accuracy. If you release both, you would attract both publics.
