Blade-of-the-Moon

Still waiting on my order of this one, the front arms do look pretty HUGE compared to the body but it's the first figure I'll have of this species.

Flaffy

Is it just me or do the sculpts of this wave of theropod feel very same-y?

Like Sinotyrannus, Dryptosaurus and Eocarcharia (despite the feathers) all have this odd triangular brachycephalic skull; like even for Mattel these heads are far too robust.

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Yeah I've been feeling that way since all of this leaked a while back. 2023 might be the first year I don't buy much from them, outside of the HC. Gives me a chance to get caught up with some folks I owe, BoTM, PNSO, CollectA, etc.

Edit: This past year was pretty divided between Mattel, and other brands for me as well (Mesozoic Life Kickstarter, Rebor T. rex, PNSO Deinocheirus, plenty of Japanese figures from Eikoh, Takara Tomy, Kaiyodo, etc, with more to come once my order is paid off and I'm ready to have things shipped).

With how little effort Mattel's putting into the mainline, I'm getting less and less interested about what they offer too. Got plenty of other figures from different companies / artists to catch up on.

Alongside the Gigantspinosaurus, the new Indoraptor sculpt and the Kronosaurus the Diabloceratops is one of my favourites in this line.

EmperorDinobot

I have a Sinotyrannus coming on Wednesday. I'll do pics and review it for the site if you want. I'm almost done writing most reviews. Just gotta give them to avatar_suspsy @suspsy .

Sinotyrannus is already reserved.

Color aside, the sculpt is very nicely done.

Just spotted two new Danger Pack figures listed with images on JPToys. Looks like a new brown and red Tapejara (please no teeth this time) and a green theropod with an orange crest, taxon not obvious.

Eatmycar

I'm a big Mattel fan, they got me back into collecting, but I don't get what a lot of people see in things like the Drypto, Siamo, or... frankly the bulk of this year's main line figures. There's very little that stands out so far. I get it, Wave 1 and all, but aside from the Diabloceratops, yikes.

Hammond Collection and Legacy Collection have top priority for me this year, not this.

DinoFan2010

Is it just me, or does the Austroraptor look like the one from Dino Hunter Deadly Shores?

...those crazy sons of bitches actually did it.

I'm still plenty satisfied with my Legacy one from 2019, but my goodness that's still incredible to see. The price is a bit of a doozy, but not really that much more then what the Legacy Brachiosaurus went for in 2019. At the very least I'm interested in seeing what's different, other then potential more limb articulation.

Gwangi

That's unbelievable. I highly doubt I'll get it though.

MLMjp

Imposible :o

Like, not in a million years I thought we will be getting sauropods in the Hammond collection.

I wont get it, but the fact that it will happen it's mind blowing.
