I would agree that they are Dinostoreus//Kinto copies. They look the same, but the bases are very different.

Not such a terrible deal right here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Battat-Carnotaurus-Boston-Museum-of-Science-Dinosaur-/121489827061?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c495ba4f5
And that's not the only one. He also has a Maiasaura, Ceratosaurus, and Edmontonia going for the same price.

What is the deal with these skulls?

http://www.ebay.com/sch/jieweicy/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

I like some of the skulls and was considering buying them, but given the seller's location (China) I have a suspicion they may be counterfeits. Does anyone have any idea? If they are fakes I will look elsewhere.

Unsure. I have one skull from this seller and also http://dinotoyblog.com/2011/12/29/tyrannosaurus-desktop-model-by-favorite-co-ltd/ that is absolutely the real deal.

Don't know if anyone is looking for this one but this was shared to me from a friend.

It seems pretty expensive--I just got a few for my store; when they go online they will be $22 or so.

Oh? Sadly there aren't any shops/stores close to me that sell them and if they did (like Hobby Lobby) they're usually broken. I had to buy most of my stuff offline for this reason. Most of the Papo Dinosaurs at my Hobby Lobby have broken jaws for one reason or another.

There has been an American seller listing lots of old discontinued models kits, Shane Foulkes' among them. But recently, another seller has popped up. He has no feedback, and is located in China. Also, his description has been copy pasted from the American seller's listing, as are his photos.

Here's the Chinese:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pentaceratops-DINOSAUR-RESIN-MODEL-KIT-BY-SHANE-FOULKES-/111529914249?pt=UK_Collectables_AnimalCollectables_SM&hash=item19f7b36f89

And the American listing:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pentaceratops-DINOSAUR-RESIN-MODEL-KIT-BY-SHANE-FOULKES-/181590472118?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a47a2b5b6

I'm thinking this is a possible recaster or maybe a scammer.

Those^^ indeed do not look very trustworthy. My gues would be a scam.

The guy on the U.S. site claims to have bought them at an estate sale. I haven't seen him list any duplicates of kits..perhaps someone else recasted them and he bought them as he said. There are some rare pieces in there...and he's not always sure who made what.

Now the fellow in China could be.

I don't doubt the American guy is genuine, it's the Chinese one that I had suspicions about. I bought a kit from him (the US guy) although it wasn't an easy victory, that's for sure. I lost two others that I wanted though.

Something that also troubled me was that after he started listing lots of kits many people from Asian countries have added him to their watchlists (none of whom had any feedback btw). Countries such as Thailand, China etc. I do understand that there are genuine collectors in those countries. But Thailand and China are pretty much the recast capitals of the world, and I can't help but think that they could be recasters who are trying to acquire new kits to rip off.

Well that is a good possibility. Nothing to do about it though.. :/

I lost a couple kits I wanted from him as well..couldn't believe they went so high.

Battat Carnotaurus for $6!

Not bad not bad! I wonder what will happen to the rathee high prices these critters after the reissue.  The original color schemes will most likely retain their collector item value but I'm still hoping for a small dip in the price.  :)

I for one would be happy with the re-issues. I believe they may even turn out better with today's casting methods and more quality control.  I believe the older pieces will have nostalgia going for them and that's about it..unless your a completest.

I wonder if anyone else has had this happen to them. I bid on a rare dinosaur that I have been looking to add to my collection for a while, and I set my max bid pretty high. Everything is going pretty well until the auction disappears completely. There is no record of my bidding on it on my eBay account at all. I have a suspicion that the seller may have taken the auction down, but I don't know why. It may be that I am an international bidder, but the seller said in the item description that they were happy to ship internationally. I've had this happen before, and it was on a model kit and it was equally annoying.

Why does this happen? Is it because the seller gets an offer outside of eBay? Isn't that against the rules?

This ticks me off because it's a waste of my time and I don't get a chance at buying >:( I don't even get an apology or an explanation.

Most likely this ^. I know someone who was offered just recently to take something off. In the end he didn't,  and made more money than offered.
