It's been a while since I've posted, so here's some catch up on my catches from the last few months:

One of the highlights of my collection, this is the test shot of the Marx Kronosaurus from 1954 or 55. When a mold was made they did a couple test shots of a white, brittle plastic that is very different from the normal Marx toys. This is the only Kronosaur known. I visited the Marx Toy Museum in West Virginia three times just to see this piece. When the museum went out of business it was put up for auction. It is the most expensive prehistoric figure I own, surpassing even Chialus, but it was well worth it for the rabid Kronosaur fan that I am. Sometimes the value is in the pursuit.

This is a pretty piece: obviously a replica of the Invicta Liopleurodon, this carved wood statue is far larger, about half a meter long. It was obtained from a retired sea captain who had been friends with the artist who created it in Indonesia. It was originally purchased for $450, but I got it far cheaper because some of the flippers have snapped off.

The carving job is excellent, right down to the detailed teeth.

Another large swimmer, the Takara Elasmosaurus is 17" long. It looks like it could be powered somehow with those strange joints. Safari toob figure for scale.

The first actual mold I've ever purchased, the Creepy Crawlers plesiosaur.

A small plesiosaur that could be found inside soaps and some kind of eggs... If anyone has any more info let me know.

A couple light up crazy dinos I got from a dinosaur convention I went to recently. I call them Arizonasauruses so they'll go in that collection.

It's fun picking through other people's random dinosaur collections... especially when it's free! Anyone know what that metal Dimetrodon is from?

I know everyone's loving Funko POP's new Jurassic Park/World figures, but I got Pterri instead.

And you know what these are... I'll be listing the ones I don't need soon.

It's a Gerrothorax party!

Yes, the wooden Liopleurodon is really cool. shame for those broken flippers.
I think you just lost it paying that much for the Plastic Marx Kronosaurus.
But, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about - so, congrats on that one too ... :)

Dilopho

$611?? Oh my giddy aunt

Wow, busy few months, eh, BlueKrono? Congrats!

I congratulate you on your rare acquisitions of prehistoric marine animals and amphibians BlueKrono. The wooden liopleurodon based on that of the mythical Invicta company has impressed me favorably.

You have a great collection.

Dilopho

Oh, lucky me!! I actually managed to find  a Baryonyx!!  :))

I think it looks amazing. My only gripe is that the CE thingy is painted on in silver paint? Why not just molded like on the Allosaurus?

Bokisaurus

Awesome new additions everyone!
Bluekrono, that is one cool wood liopleurodon !

Roselaar

Amazing acqs, BlueKrono! The wooden Lio is simply stunning! :)

Libraraptor

That wooden Liopleurodon is one of the coolest things I've ever seen!

Congratulations on the rare Marx item, one other person was willing to pay at least $601.00 so you weren't alone. The real shame is that the Museum is no more, I hadn't heard that. I used to visit their web site to get historical information sad that all of what they preserved in one place is gone.

SBell

Finally got some 2018 CollectA--the main ones I wanted!

And a horsetail just below the Estemmenosuchus! I think I finally got one to take hold (note the dried and dead ones near it...)

Shonisaurus

They look fantastic those mammalian reptiles of the Paleocene. By the way, the dimetrodon from what I see is even longer and voluminous than the dimetrodon. I congratulate you SBell for your new acquisitions.

The Mosasaurus is definitely the biggest figure in my current display!
