I got the  Kaiyodo Coelophysis on Friday.  Man I love the colors on this one. It my first Coelophysis. I still need to get the Safari one too. Sadly when I was putting it together I broke the hip peg. So I had to glue it. Which is ok because it kept sagging.

Finally got these two today! The package was coming from Washington to Wisconsin and somehow ended up in New Jersey so it was delayed for a few days ::)

The Papo baby T-rex and retired woolly rhino. Unfortunately the rex is missing some paint on the bottom of his left foot (looks almost like a part was cut off) and his right leg is bent out of place so I'm gonna have to fix that. Also might fix the rhino's weird bulging horn that gets thicker as it goes up

Papo toys may not be the most accurate in the world but they're some of the only figures that I've ever seen that look alive.

Thank you for the pic of the Wooly Rhino!

I've held off on the Papo Wooly Rhino for so long that I somehow forgot that it was retired. So I checked eBay (it was selling for $30) and I checked Amazon and a dozen other sites. Completely sold out. Lastly, I found a site (Legacy Station) that was selling it for $11 (+$5 shipping) and I bought it. I received my order today. It's a very nice piece, for the most part. It's also quite heavy in relation to the size.

Strange how Recur is still using "Sterrolophus Marsh" instead of Triceratops. After I wrote my review of the older version last fall, their rep told me they would be discarding that moniker in the future. I guess they must have forgotten. It makes even less sense than calling T. rex "Manospondylus Gigas."

In that catalogue, Recur is also still using Velocisaurus instead of Velociraptor, and Majungatholus instead of Majungasaurus.

I've experienced the same back in january. It wasn't my top priority but as soon as Papo updated their site and I noticed it was retired I rushed the purchase. Got one at its regular price off Ebay, but it was the last, all specialized online retailers had it sold out already, while on Amazon there was only a third party seller option at about 50 euros. It's incredible how a figure can disappear from the market in just about a couple of weeks, cause I clearly remember that until december it was available basically everywhere.

Re Papo Woolly Rhino; DeJankins still has them (and at only $13.50 USD), though for how long...   ???

Thank you for the link.

I tried DeJankins the other day and the Papo page refused to load up on my mac  :'(. So, I ended up purchasing it from Legacy Station for roughly the same price. The link works now, though.

It seems that the Papo Woolly Rhino will soon join the Steppe Mammoth...

Guess what I just got on Ebay

I absolutely could not find this model (except on Amazon where it was either $299+ or over A THOUSAND DOLLARS) so I removed it from my wish list completely. Just for laughs I checked Ebay to see if there was any for sale and lo and behold this guy (and a little baby) was up for bids.

My mom bid once before I went to bed and I woke up this morning to find out my mom kept on bidding and ended up winning. Her and someone else bid the same amount but her bid was a few seconds sooner and she won it for me. My dad also gave me $100 to clean the house so I can buy even more retired things from my wishlist now

I love my mom ;D

That's cool! I want a good Brachiosaurus and I'm thinking of this one, last time I checked Dejankins still had it, I like it but I would love it if the neck wasn't so downwards.

I got Kaiyodo Pteranodon.  I'm just blown away by the details. The detail on the fish in the mouth is amazing. I'm so glad I got this one. I might just start getting more Pterosaurs. I will most likely just get the ones with flight rods or them resting on the ground.

I also got Kaiyodo Struthiomimus too. I'm very happy with it. It the one dinosaur group that I don't have a lot of.  The only other one from this group is my Battat mini Gallimimus.

Some hot water should easily enough cure this ;)

I've never done the hot water treatment but I really like this that figure overall, I think I'm going to get it and try with the hot water.

Zhuchengotyrant

I use a slightly riskier method - candles. I've fixed crooked flippers and feet but I'm not sure how well it would work on re positioning the entire neck if that is the way it is supposed to be.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

I hate it when I miss long sought after items, but sometimes I just don't have the funds ready at the time  :(
I agree with your observation. These figures vanish, and sometimes they were ignored for years on end!

LeapingLaelaps

Just ordered:
Retired Carnegie Woolly Mammoth (same story as the Brachi, I searched it up on Ebay for laughs and ended up finding one)
Retired Carnegie Dilong
Retired Carnegie Miragaia
Retired Safari LTD Prehistoric Mammal Skulls TOOB
Retired Safari LTD Prehistoric Sea Life TOOB
Retired (or at least hard to find?) Mojo Quagga

I was going to order the Mojo Sarco, Daeodon and Hyaenodon but the ones on Ebay couldn't ship to my country because the seller didn't put up shipping for my country so I ended up getting the Dilong and Miragaia instead. Those four (including the Quagga) are the only Mojo toys on my wish list so I was hoping to get them out of my way but no such luck :-\

Only 11 more retired things to go before I can start working on collectables that are actually being produced ::)

When everything gets here I'll start my own collection thread to show you guys!

My dad also got me a Schleich Giganotosaurus a few days ago but I don't want to talk about him. He's very... Different.

Dyscrasia

This little fella has arrived today~  ^-^
