The TRex will work out to being 12" long, I am sure, if you measure it down the spine;  but remember that is it is standing up with the tail curved around.  That is how they get the short measurement.

(Memo to any Carnegie / Safari staff that may be reading this:  please refer to Collecta's 2014 Carcharodontosaurus to see what your TRex body SHOULD have looked like)

Aside from the tail looking a little too skinny, I don't see how the CC T. rex's body is in any way inaccurate.
I agree. I would also have preferred the tail to have been held straight and not curved round. But it serves a purpose (emergency support) and I'd rather have a tripod than clown feet. And it can be corrected with hot water.

Simon

Sorry for the confusing way I phrased that - the Safari 2014 TRex body is of course very accurate;  the legs below the knees are not.  I've made those points any times before and I am finished critiquing this otherwise spectacular figure.

I would not refer them to a figure that's not released yet, what stands in the production photos might not stand upon release.

One of the problems I had with CollectAs figures is that there feet don't always allow them to stand, and with a heavy deluxe model, its worse.

My Deinechirus was ruined just because it would not stand properly even with Heat manipulation.

Something makes me fear that the there Carcahrodontosaurus is going to suffer the same issues.

Simon

That's a legitimate concern;  however it does look like the Carcharodontosaur is more balanced than the Deinocheirus (how do you spell those !#@$% names anyway???  >:D).  Mine had the same problem, eventually I took a thin clear plastic rod and just put it under the chest.

Of course if the legs bend inward then the same problem may happen.  The alternative is to make a tortured unnatural pose like the Carnegie '14 TRex has, or even worse, the Carnegie Giganotosaurus has (oh its giving me chills up my back just thinking about that particular disaster ....)

Wouldn't Dan be the first owner, since it's his shop?

Actually, although all of them are on his site, you can only purchase the Sucho and Megladon. Dan wouldn't be able to sell the others before Safari itself sells them  ::).
