No, it's not like that, sorry.. (a little bit of confusion)
Tapejara and Psittacosaurus are from a company called Dinostar and they aren't bootleg ( http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=5734.msg171591#msg171591 ).

DragonRider02' pictures are from this website:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tapejara-Pterosauria-Dinosaurs-8-large-PVC-solid-Figurine-Figure-model-Floz/222520428917?hash=item33cf404975:g:CeoAAOSw9OFZI9yP

The seller (us_seller_joshep) used the mark "Floz" but the figure isn't a knock-off.
I bought the Tapejara from MHHK and the Psittacosaurus from us_seller_joseph
I received a Tapejara marked as Dinostar under the belly from MHHK.
And I received a Psittacosaurus marked as Dinostar under the belly from us_seller_joseph.
Exactly same packaging.
The one from us_seller_joseph has a piece of paper "Floz" outside the plastic bag but the figure is correctly labeled as Dinostar.

Probably the seller us_seller_joseph mislabeled the product but the figure is genuine.
The one from MHHK is simply overpriced (as usual): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tapejara-Pterosauria-Dinosaur-PVC-Solid-Figurine-Figure-Model/153145586406?hash=item23a83032e6:g:N6QAAOSwvihY~i0S
Both sellers have exactly the same product.

Thank you very much for clearing this all up!

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

I found bootlegs of the PNSO minis on Aliexpress (actually posted them here a few pages back). Maybe we're thinking of the same thing?

DragonRider02

I found very interesting "T-rex" model...

IrritatorRaji

These new T.rex restorations are getting out of hand

I was looking at that one at one point actually. The title of the listing does actually say Dimorphodon. I assume the intention was to catch unattentive parents looking for a T. rex off guard.

Probably because Rex sells. Same reason people seem to put Jurassic Park/World into titles.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Ive seen them sold usually in groups of 6 on Ebay by at least 3 different sellers. They probably are the bootlegs so now I know to make sure not to get those from there.
I wonder if there are bootlegs of the larger hollow figures?

IrritatorRaji

Some awful knock offs of models that I actually haven't seen knocked off before (despite them being around for a while)

And the one that hurt me the most since I love the original figure...

Well well well, that might actually be an improvement on the legit's paint job, though still decently horrendous.

Personally I believe in this:  there are big pros and cons of knock offs. In nerf where I know most about this; we have our main name brand nerf. While other off brand blasters are cheaper they also break very easily. So you pay for a little extra money for the name brand quality. The same thing applies here, but with higher stakes for name brands as they tend to be smaller. Furethermore knockoffs don't take a design, but they copy one persons high efforts that they did not do for money. Money talks (claiming thanks for taking my needs first  :)) )

The vernacular differences between Knock-off and bootleg are rarely clear, what we discuss in this thread are actually bootlegs, direct copies, while a knock-off is broader and could include things like REBOR or Papo's Jurassic Park designs.

I mostly use KO's for army building, if I'm going to be chopping them up and putting them back together into new poses anyway it doesn't matter if the quality isn't as good.

Oh sorry  :D my vocabulary for knockoff and bootleg are pretty similar since again, only reference i have is nerf  :))

This Stygimoloch is gorgeous. Is it a knock-off??? Mofun seems like one of those chinese replica manufacturers.

not sure but it is rather nice.  The trex on the same listing does looks like a Papo knockoff

also look at these knockoffs on bases, oh wow you gotta love these seller's creativity at "bashing" different things together.

Don't expect the actual product to look like that.

Saw bootleg versions of the Schleich Allosaurus and Triceratops ( the previous one, not the on released this year ) and a brown one of the original Papo Tyrannosaurus in a store yesterday.  They seemd to be from the same line, but the Allo and Trike where 5 Euros while the Rex was 8. Didn't buy them.

avatar_mgaguilar @mgaguilar I think that someone filled the joints of a Mattel Stygimoloch, added a little detail, and then made a cast of the result. That's what that looks like to me. I could be wrong.
