I didn't quite see my other favorite dinosaur,an Allosaurus, but the Europasaurus sure makes up for it!!!!!

Allosaurus is a bit big for the size limits put on the Terra line, though I think it wouldn't be an unlikely candidate for an addition to the MOS series.

Yes, definitely more suitable for the MOS line!

I'll just keep my fingers crossed, haha! ;D

Here is what Battat is expected to release in 2015:

Terra:

Gigantoraptor
Gastonia
Plateosaurus
Pentaceratops
Nasutoceratops
Majungasaurus
Yutyrannus
Europasaurus

This thread is for discussion of the new Terras and eventually the Battat MOS reissues. Personally I'm pretty happy with this list and can't wait forward to seeing the new releases, especially given that both a prosauropod and sauropod are included. I wonder what the color schemes will be like or if they have been determined yet. For what it's worth, I always saw Majungasaurus as a low-slung ambush predator, stalking through tall ferns/grasses. A green or yellowish coloration on that one would be a nice touch.
I wonder if the releases will be like this:Gastonia,Gigantoraptor,Pentaceratops & Plateosaurus in the first half of 2015 and Europasaurus,Majungasaurus,Nasutoceratops &Yutyrannus sometime in the second half? :)

I'm really excited for these dinosaurs. Since I haven't yet, I also want to say I really appreciate that Dan is creating new figures that we can enjoy. :) (I'm also pleased about the older series returning, since I have only one figure.)

I know the Pentaceratops will be great (and sold for half the price of the Schleich figure, no less!). Europasaurus is an excellent choice- I think it could also act as a different macronarian sauropod juvenile or non-1:40 individual if someone wished. At 1:40, how big will the Nasutoceratops be? I'm guessing it may be smaller than the other upcoming versions of this species?

At 1:40 scale I would expect Nasutoceratops to come out to about 4 and a half inches long, like Aaron Doyles' Shapeways model of that species at that scale.

My Nasutoceratops will be just under 6". A bit over-sized but I do have to maintain a consistency of size with the Terra Series. 4.5" is a little on the smaller size of the scale. The Safari toy shows to be a bit over 6" so I'm within range. I'm not getting into order of release. That is strictly a Battat thing, however the toys will be made in order of how I send the finished masters to them.

Once the toys are in production I believe pics can be released. That's why, for now, only the Gastonia & Gigantoraptor pics are available.

All the pretty pretty Ceratopsians, again this year. **twirls**

Daspletodave

Even sight unseen I will be buying all 6 of these Battat Terra figures, especially now that they are starting to show up in Canada!

Neon-Allo

So do the Gastonia and Gigantoraptor count for the 2014 releases or the 2015 releases?

They won't be released until 2015, so I think that says it!

Oops, duh, sorry :o
I didn't think that all the way through, I just thought maybe they sort of counted as 2014 because they were announced  then... ;D

Will the new information coming out in ceratopsian skin be taken into account for some of these? The Safari Nasutoceratops has large, coarse scales as the Lane specimen shows for Triceratops but the Pachyrhinosaurus retained the old school smooth, hadrosaur like skin.

Either way, definitely looking forward to all these! Especially a good pro sauropod and Pentaceratops, one of the best known ceratopsians to science but definitely under represented in figures...

As far as the skin texture on ceratopsians, the fossil impressions of Triceratops skin would scale down to roughly .047 cm. and judging by the photos I've seen not raised in a high degree. I do plan on making my ceratopsian skin texturing more hexagonal in the future.

Hope I could get those Ceratopsians next year.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Impressed as always, I can't wait to see the rest. It goes without saying that the pentaceratops will be much nicer than the Schleich one. I didn't know europasaurus' legs were that short, but is a genus I'd like to see more often.

Yutyrannus

Quite cool! I can't wait to see the Majungasaurus and Yutyrannus.

Gwangi

Very nice! I didn't know the Europasaurus had such a large head but I won't pretend that I know much about Europasaurus anyway. I'm particularly impressed with the Pentaceratops. And now that means I won't have to buy the Schelich model!
