REBOR general discussion

A fragile statue just doesn't fit my needs sadly.

I'll get whichever one looks like it would be easiest to use as a base coat for customizing, probably the white one.

Gwangi

It's not identical to Knight's work, but it's close enough for me. This might be the first REBOR product I ever purchase.

Over9K

Hatchling Deinosuchus 'Meta' profits will fund the Grab-N-Go Deinosuchus development... can 'Lica' Sarchosuchus be far behind?

Shonisaurus

What good news you have given me! I am looking forward to doing deinosuchus one day, there is hope that deinosuchus will be done in the near future. I will buy that baby deinosuchus it is charming, what I am aware that this figure will be made of the highest quality material, polyresin or the same material as the two color versions of the titanoboa.

Stegotyranno420

The pose is like if it hatched out of the egg only to tell his neighbor to shut up. :D :D

Real cool figure tho, but im not interested in baby animals at the moment

Blade-of-the-Moon

To me it doesn't really standout? Looks like any other baby crocodilian really. If I was say really into them then 60.00 for a baby statue of this quality would be fine.  I don't even know how you would make it look like anything other than a baby crocodile or alligator? In art Deinosuchus is always paired with a dinosaur for scale.

They decided to make the Maul variant too.

They are only talking about the 1:35 Deinosuchus and not the Sarcosuchus, I hope he's not scrapped.
I won't buy the Deinosuchus if Sarcosuchus does not follow, because I need both species scaling with each other.
Otherwise I'll just stick with the Safari ones (Alligator as Deinosuchus).
The Rebor Deinosuchus will probably be bigger, and I doubt the Safari Sarcosuchus will scale with it.

I'd love a Purussaurus as well.

Those hatclings look cool, a bit weird that they need them to fund the 1:35 counterparts, looks like they don't have much confidence into the selling of the crocs and are only doing this for their fans.
Well if compagnies did believe those species would sell well, there would alwready be figures from other brands.

So we had to make some educated guesses such as finding common traits of existing memebers of the Alligatoroidea and the Crocodyloidea to figure out what their more primitive Brevirostres ancestors might look like, for example we gave the hatchlings a more functional tongue and visible digit claws to set them apart from modern gators' devolved(or evolved) features.

Plus the colour schemes are kinda unique ;)

Yeah, unless we're dealing with a gharial or some other thin-snouted genus, most baby crocodyliformes have an unfortunate tendency to look virtually identical.

Saw these images on instagram, but here is the other Retrosaurus from Rebor. I have to say, I prefer this one over the Knight inspired sculpt. The colors on this one are beautiful. Here are the images:

Carnoking

Yeah, that one is awesome. It's clearly inspired by Sauron from Primal Rage, but I'm so glad they decided to give the colors a realistic application. Honestly, that's a color scheme I'd enjoy seeing on an updated rex as well.

Faelrin

avatar_Carnoking @Carnoking That's been my thoughts as well. It's such a beautiful homage honestly. I wonder when these will go up for pre-order. I really do want both the green Knight styled one and this one too (and if they do Diablo yeah I'll want that one too).

I think you did a great job on them don't get me wrong. Just pointing out a potential problem with the overall concept.  I have similar comments on other things dealing with the general public.

Right, exactly. Not a lot to do about it really.

Looks awesome! The top right pic with the arms raised really sells it too.  Now if they make Diablo I kinda want a fire breathing accessory... lol

Shonisaurus

Honestly, that series of retro dinosaurs from Rebor are even more interesting than purely scientific dinosaurs. I hope that one day Rebor will also be encouraged to make "retro" prehistoric mammals inspired by Burian's drawings.

That "retro" tyrannosaurus has to be mine even if it has more than two paint variants. Magnificent specimen!

Over9K

Nice, a Sharptooth "VHS" to go with the Sauron "Arcade"...

Faelrin

I love this one too. Sucks I probably won't have the money to order all of these when pre-orders go up and eventually ship. And then if they do a Diablo variant too, ah.

I quite like this one. This color scheme should have been on the Knight inspired sculpt, but still looks lovely. I do prefer the Sauron variant, so I may pass on this Sharptooth variant.

Carnoking

Man, between this, Sauron, and the Carnotaurus rex, REBOR is going right for the childhood.

Lanthanotus

Nice.... but I`ll go with the "Allosaurus"/Knight Rex .... when will those be relased?

Faelrin

Can't post pics just yet, but Rebor has unveiled a Diablo based color scheme, and it is awesome. Honestly I feel pretty much the same seeing this as I did as a kid with my toy of Diablo. If I end up having to pick one, well this will be the one.

Now I only have distant hopes we will get a Talon based raptor some day from them too.
