Is a figure like this actually legal? I'm just wondering since he kinda openly admits that it uses colours from another character and even kinda names it after the character it borrows colours from? I mean, I'm not really offended by this figure by any means, but I can't help but wonder...

Well, it's a repaint of a model which is also called Roadrunner, because it's coloured like the actual bird.  And I don't think you can copyright a colour scheme, especially when it's basically just blue.  At worst, I think they could make him stop calling it Roadrunner, but I don't think they could actually prevent him making and selling the model.

Some updates that haven't been covered here yet:

The body clips are being made a little wider to help them clip onto the thicker pubis area of some figures

Velociraptor's paint job is getting a minor touch up to better resemble Jonathan Kuo's package art

(Original for comparison)

I will admit, I don't really like the newer Velociraptor much because it looks like he's getting rid of that iridescence on the wings, which I really liked.

Faelrin

I wonder if there would be a way to order those clips, without having to buy newer figures. Or a way to modify the existing ones. I was disappointed when I couldn't have my Dromaeosaurus pair get into some really dynamic poses (like jumping, etc), when I first got them. Would have made standing them much easier too by having use of those.

I'm okay with the new coloration for the Velociraptor, but the original coloring is my fave that I am already kind of nostalgic about, thanks to backing the kickstarter in 2016. No regrets on having that one.

"Following up on yesterday's post, here are some comparisons of the upcoming Beasts of the Mesozoic re-releases that are planned along with the current releases. My intention this time around is to get them looking closer to Jonathan Kuo's package art. These are expected to be available in first quarter of 2019."

The changes are minor but I'm blown away, they add so much!

Kind of wish I hadn't bought the sets they were in as I only really wanted the 'raptors', though I do prefer the first Microraptor to this one.

I really love the new colours on the Mononykus. But I certainly don't want to buy another set, as I already bought both these dinosaurs with the environment packs.

I like the new Mononykus better as well. The other one looks so much like an emu that I keep mistaking it for one when looking at it, and whilst the newer Mononykus is also based on a bird, pheasants (I think that's what it is) are not something I think of as much. I've looked at emus in Knowsley Safari Park for years (and my sister hates them, not that she's seen the Mononykus figure yet though), but it's just a little too emu.

This is perfect for me, I wanted the Mononykus but not the accessories, I already have a Safari Microraptor but if I have to get one to get the mono I can deal with a repeated Dino, maybe they can work as a pair? I don't know of they are close in size

The Safari Microraptor is bigger, but the two work reasonably well as members of the same species.

is everything getting a re-release? wouldnt mind getting a second raptor and a set of babies.
would also be cool if they sold the new fixed rods and even the environment  bases separately so you could switch out bases to match your environment diorama. Like maybe you have a raptor with the desert base but would like to give it a forest base to match the forest environment.

I'm selling a set of raptor chicks if you're interested?

Here's an actual picture of the "Raptor Series Eastern Set". He said it will be available in March 2019:

Idk if anyone posted these. Seems like we're getting more repaints.

Faelrin

These sets aren't new. They've been in the making for a while now. The lovely packaging art is new on the other hand.

In any case I'm really excited to see that they are finally going to be up for sale soon. I've been wanting the set with the Microraptor and Mononykus for a while now, and I've been wanting those white nestlings for just as long. Really looking forward to finally get a chance at getting some of them.

Yep! They were meant to be Woozy Moo exclusives as of last year.

I wasn't sure they were still happening, and the practical part of me says I'd have waited for the white nestlings instead of getting the black ones if I knew they were close, but that's probably a lie. I'm especially excited for that magpie microraptor!

I've looked at emus in Knowsley Safari Park for years (and my sister hates them, not that she's seen the Mononykus figure yet though), but it's just a little too emu.

Ironically, the birds I remember seeing there the most are...pheasants  :P

I will second that the Mononykus repaint is much better than the original. Despite my profile pic, I much prefer pheasants to emus, and I think the colour scheme of one works well on the similarly shaped Mononykus, much better than the colour scheme of an emu does.

Sim

Anatomically, Mononykus is much more similar to an emu than a pheasant.  For the record, I think these repaints of the accessory pack species are all inferior to the original versions.  While the magpie colouration looks nice, it's not accurate to known colouration for Microraptor.  The other three repaints all look over the top, to me.

Moodyraptor

Not so keen on the mononykus, but I love the magpie microraptor.  Wish it would be available as a single.

DragonRider02

The Magpie Microraptor could be remolded/retooled into Archaeopteryx.

But I am totally getting the Micro/Mononykus set! I love both Magpies and Pheasants, so it's Perfect for me. The flamingo (I think?) Buitreraptor is also nice but I like the original better.
