They are coming along nicely, I can't wait to see their wings.

I'll be working on those today..hoping to get the male done so I can paint it. I'm hoping to try a feather stencil on it.

Same problems as always. Too big to move to where it needs to go, too high up. Still waiting on someone to donate us that crane...

One of the awesome items we will raffle off at our Apatosaurus ( Earth-Shaker!) Event in June , a hand carved Apatosaurus cane, showing the skull on one side and the fleshed out version on the other. The inspiration being how here" we put flesh on the bones" lol Created by Jon Wickenden from Australia..I love it!

Really nice! Do your figures get wet in the open?  How long do they usually endure the weather?  TIA!

Thanks!

Yeah many of them get wet frequently, dew, storms, snow, ect..  So far over 3 years and counting.

Meso-Cenozoic

Wow, great press release, Chris! So many wonderful and well-done additions since I last visited. It was a great little park to begin with, but now it's becoming one that other dino parks will be a bit jealous of. ;)

One day I will definitely make plans to visit, and also make a contribution. Hopefully when all this preparation for moving and doing repairs on the new place and finally getting settled in (looks like I can't actually move in till August, when hopefully most everything will be finished), I'll be able to start doing "normal" fun stuff again! Plus, I'll have to saving up again. I had forgotten how much moving and house repairs can cost! :P

Very neat to see pics of so many of your Dinos on that newspaper sight!  :)I hadn't seen a lot of them. I really like the Parasaurolophus, Carnotaurus, and Stygimoloch! I didn't realize you had a protoceratops as well. If you could post some pics of the frill shape, that would be awesome!

Thanks bud!  It will be a nice milestone to finally reach 50 animals..but I'm already dreaming of 100... lol

That would be great and very much appreciated! Tell me about..anyone should walk through a home improvement store before starting any project...it's nuts! One reason we came up short on the TotD exhibit...I didn't realize electric wire cost 3.00 a foot for the good stuff and 1.50 a foot for the okay, I guess we can make it work , stuff. We needed 300'...ugh

Thank you! Yeah I built a Proto last year and animated her along with a nest of hatching eggs. The intent was to put her in the Velociraptor area..but it didn't make sense once I got to thinking about why she would be there.

Do you have facebook?  Here is a link to the gallery for her construction : https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10201503654969809.1073741836.1129456954&type=3

and a video I shot as well : https://www.facebook.com/ChrisKastner1982/videos/vb.1129456954/10202344663554498/?type=3

Hope that helps!

I made a Facebook account just for you Chris :)) I don't plan on using it, but now I'll stop getting those log in to Facebook messages everywhere I go. Love your Proto! Your method of making the head was very methodical, that's actually more my personality, but this time I'm just going for it with paper mâché. I plan on using fiberglass as sort of an exoskeleton, so kids can be ruff around it. I want to put it in are garden. Thanks for the pics! Very helpful!

lol thanks for taking the plunge on my account!  ;D

Methodical? Yeah I guess looking back it is..I've actually been playing it a bit looser..same process but I'm not as afraid to guess a little and rely a bit more on my eyes instead of numbers and diagrams 100%.

Fiberglass is an excellent idea for durability, just difficult to work with..I'm sort of allergic to the stuff myself. I get near it and my skin just starts itching.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Ah , I need opinions on the type of arm/wing feathers therizinosaurs may have had.  I've looked at the Collecta figures and they are reduced to being only on the elbow to the wrist. I know Velociraptors and Oviraptors probably had more wing-like feathers extending from the middle finger back to the elbow and up to the shoulder.

Couple examples :

Also thinking of adding a small tuft of feathers to the tail tip too.

Can't..stop..making..heads!

Now THAT got me excited!!! :D
