sand

It's course and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
Just like Schleich.

It pains me to say that the rex almost looks 'good', at least when compared to other Schleichs. The Carnotaurus looks like a rejected creature design from the Star Wars prequels, and not in a good way. Why is the tail on that thing strangely giger-esque? The anatomy of the 'Velociraptor' appears to be constructed entirely of sand and discarded shreds of old vegetable matter.

Although it is an improvement on the part of Schleich with respect to the previous carnotaurus (later it will have to see the real figures because the prototype differs a lot with respect to the real figure), the carnotaurus 2017 of Schleich seems to me to a armored dinosaur as if it had an armor Or was a dinosaur-robot hybrid.

It is logical to be compared to a figure of star wars, however within what are the figures Schleich is a great improvement over their previous figures.

From what I learned in sts forum the figures in which we are speaking are figures only exclusive to Germany, I send you a link where they comment on that detail.

These figures will only be available in German stores or in Schleich stores and are for this year, that does not mean that in the next they will be marketed to other stores in the world.

I hope they will be avalible the next year. I see an improvement in this new models.

Am I the only one who thinks that Schleich saw the recent boom in the number of Acrocanthosaurus figures (Papo, Collecta, Safari Ltd, Battat, Kaiyodo) and thought that it would sell well, but produced the figure in such a hurry in order to sell it quicker?

I would really like to know who and how many different sculptors are responsible for those dinosaur figures as I feel there's different sculptors with different styles and at least one of them - the one making the stegosaurs - knows his/her job.

I have to admit I like the new T. rex, despite its shrinkwrapped head, but it certainly has an anachronistic charme for me. On the plus side it also seems to have decently sized feet, binocular vision, an overall correctly shaped skull and it certainly does not look like a JP rex.

someone dissed the new Kentrosaurus on Takama's fb post a few weeks ago. i wonder if that person is a member of the forum? just curious

Love them or loathe them, the latest 2017 Schleich "Conquering the Earth" dinosaur models are in stock at Everything Dinosaur, these are the new Carnotaurus, the blueish/green T. rex and the feathered Velociraptor.  All models have articulated jaws: New Schleich Dinosaurs

Sorry I'm not active much lately - just kind of in a 'dormant' state as i prepare to go study art at college in a few weeks, haha!  ;)

Wow. I had lost a lot of hope for Schleich after seeing their new Allosaurus (I've ranted about it before, right?) but seeing these new guys pop up on facebook today has me...excited!

I'm really loving that new T. rex! It looks sleek and agile, yet powerful at the same time- and I like how it goes for scales without making them look weird like their new Brachiosaurus or too lizardy. It's a shame that they're a bit too 'kiddified' as the teeth would be sharper otherwise. I might have to pick this up next year or so if I can find one! (no dinosaur figures for me this year, probably...I'm saving  up for a Nintendo Switch!)

And ooh, that Velociraptor! It's confusingly unlike their OTHER new Velociraptor, as it has that silly look somewhere between a JP raptor and a 80's Deinonychus- but look at it! Lovely feathering, actual sickle claws, and bright-yet-believable colours!

The Carnotaurus though...yeesh! It has a lovely sculpt up until those horns! It's like when an animal's hooves grow too long!

the T. rex is actually good tbh. and i might buy it. but the Carnotaurus' teeth is a total turn off.

EDIT: the T. rex is even worse than the Carnotaurus

As I said before, while it's an improvement over previous versions, I hate the extreme shrink-wrapped skull.

Isn't the head of the Rex too short? ???

Gwangi

It really does remind me of an Eli Kish painting.

I agree, while i haven't seen pictures of it facing directly to the screen, it look like there's just a thin layer of skin over  the bones, no other soft tissue at all. Something about the pose looks weird to me too, maybe it's the angle of the photos. But  hey at least it's not that JP looking.

Well, not only the skull. You can even see its ribs...

Shonisaurus

What I notice in this tyrannosaurus rex Schleich is that it has many visible seams. It is an improvement on this in reference to previous versions but still has much work to this company that could be great in the future if it makes good figures of dinosaurs.

I never lose hope. But what I said is an improvement.

thats exactly what it reminded me of. It gave me this retro 80s /90s ...

Faelrin

Is it just me or are the proportions really off? Aside from the horrible shrink wrapping, that is.
