Lack of dinosaur pics ? lol

A lot of the extras are saying nothing but good things about it, many are JP fans so I'm trying to hang on !

To be honest, that isn't it, I don't mind the dinos being a surprise. I don't expect the dinos to be the problem with this film. The characters and tone is what I'm worried about, and the general look and feel of the film. I'm just not getting a good vibe from the publicity material so far, it isn't resonating with my Jurassic Park heart. For example, the generic hunk with a motorcycle looks more like something out of transformers than JP, and that is most definitely a bad thing in my eyes!

The extras are gonna be biased, of course. I still have hope for JW but it is draining the more I find out. I suppose I care too much about the first film and have a preconceived idea about what a JP film should and shouldn't be. Is it just me? Is anyone really excited by these stills?

Also, the memories of the butchered WWD Movie remain very much in my mind.

I'm also wary--I'm guessing that the total dinosaur screen time will be minimal--money saving and lets them 'build characters'. Or they are up to something stupid and we're all going to long for the days of badly dubbed pachyrhinosaurs...

Apparently the dinosaur screen time for the original "Jurassic Park" was only about 15 minutes. I'm willing to bet this new one will have more than that but it just goes to show you if the movie is done right you really don't need a lot of dinosaur action. That said, one thing I enjoy about JP3 is all the dinosaur screen time. Sure, the movie itself isn't good but it at least delivers dinosaurs. A lot of the dinosaur CGI in JP3 though I thought was pretty poor.

I can understand your point, that on epic of him on the motorcycle did have TF vibe to it...might be the shooting style?

The pic with the two kids felt a bit more JP to me, reminded of Tim and Lex quite a bit.

There was a pic of an extra in makeup shows a big slash across her face that is supposedly from a " raptor ".  Blood and gore in JP have been kept to a minimum in the past..could be we will get some shock moments in this new film.

Maybe Barney would turn out to be a serial killer, kind of like a killer clown!

I think we will see dinosaurs in a teaser as a glimpse. Maybe this year in Comic Con will show a teaser like Godzilla 2 years ago. I hope the teaser wont delay...

D rex-one of the worst ideas you can think of, there are many amazing species which can show .
Soory,my English is poor

Paleogene Pals

Wanna get my butt in the seat for JW? Two words, zombie dinosaurs! Being fought off by cyborgs. Enough fantasy, time for gritty realism.  >:D

D-Rex actually makes sense the further we get into the film. To sum up JW in one word : exploitation. Remember Ian's initial reaction ?  " Just slap it on a plastic lunch box and sell it, sell it! " . That's what JW has become. We have animals in too small enclosures, fighting arenas, a seaworld type show, the little ones are being used as kiddie rides..now to keep the public's attention they are creating new and vicious dinosaurs. I think we will all cheer when the dinos break free and show them why it's unwise to mess with the primal power of nature.

Hammond originally wanted a working park, but he did care about the animals. I think this new fellow who runs JW, Patel , is more like his nephew, Ludlow money is all he cares about. The dark side of Disney perhaps? He sounds like the Hammond we knew from the novel.

First look at a raptor.

He wasn't lying when he said "No feathers"

CityRaptor

Looks like they are back to their Jurassic Park / The Lost World look, but with new colors.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Patrx

Fantastic! It will be great to see animatronic raptors in action again. They were easily the highlight of the third film and it will be interesting to see how Legacy handles them without the late great Stan Winston at the helm.

I am happy to see practical effects. As for the raptor itself, accuracy sticklers won't be happy, but I suppose that is too bad.

Also, is that the Triforce in the background? >:D

stargatedalek

I think that is a triforce in the background xD

And the list of reasons not to see this movie continues :(.

We already knew there were no feathers almost from the get go. What's the problem? I don't have high hopes for the film either, but I think I'll give it a chance.

tyrantqueen

I forgot to mention, if the film does turn out to be bad, at least we can all laugh at it and the fan wank that will follow (excuse my crude language :P)

It's not just the lack of feathers, it's that they're still making look like monsters and how they didn't even bother to get the anatomy anywhere near correct. Basically they're ignoring every single thing that's been learned about dinosaurs.
