Scale is related to the dimensions the creatures have on screen, right? That's why Allosaurus and Triceratops are so small while Stegosaurus, Ceratosaurus and Carnotaurus are so big?

There really isn't much of a scale with toy lines like these.  It's more like " this category is this size .  these are this size" so you might even wind up with a 10" Compy in the same line as the Carnotaurus.

And confirms somehting I was scared of....Pteranodon has THEETH. WHY?! :-\

Jurassic park 3. Movie creature has teeth, toys have NO teeth. :)
Jurassic world. Movie creature does NOT have teeth. Both hasbro and mattel's toys have teeth. :'(

It's a minor nitpick really, they aren't painted and with the reference material at hand they probably were confused too.   The Hasbro JP3 ones don't have teeth and the film ones did,  the ones in JW didn't but the toy did.  I'm sure it's just an oversight and easily fixed.

I may be wrong, but it looks like the sculpted the JP3 Pteranodon and then painted it like the JW dino.

I thought they said the figures were designed to be all in scale, minus some exceptions like the massive T-Rex. Or I just read it here, can't remember. Anyway, the Allosaurus we see in the trailer is quite small, for example, while as mentioned before the Stegosaurus was always oversized in the franchise, ever since TLW.

They are intended to be relatively to scale relative to the human figures, but it's important to remember how extremely variable creature sizes are in this franchise. Even being exactly in scale some are going to feel odd relative to each other because they always varied in size and sometimes were not to scale with each other in some scenes.

It's in scale in the sense of "Big Dinos", "Medium Dinos" and "Small Dinos" That is why you get a Protoceratops the size of a Gallimimus and a Ceratosaurus the size of an Allosaurus, they just fit into their categories and don't go farther than that.

Faelrin

Yeah the scale is simplified, even if going by JP sizes. I still think it is better then no scale though. At least the big creatures are big, and the smaller ones are not the same size as them, or vice versa, which can only increase the play-ability factor. The previous Hasbro JW Basher Biters and Growlers threw any sense of scale out the window and ended up with a random assortment of creatures (aside from the fact both lines were also theropod heavy).

Edit: Guess I now know what (at least some of) the 'Basic Dino Value' figures that were on the JPToys list look like now that they are up on Mattel's website. I will no doubt be checking their site frequently to see more of what they have in store.

Here's the Pachycephalosaurus, Blue, and another orange Velociraptor. These seem to have minimal paint apps like the Attack Pack figures and less articulation, but seem to be more a few dollars more expensive?

Second Edit: The list on JPToys has added images for the 'Basic Dino Value' figures too, and mentions these are 12 inch figures aka 1/6 scale.

You get 12 inch figures for 9.99 dollars a piece. Of course there has to be a compromise.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Thanks for sharing, those look nice, I really like the Baryonyx.

I have some news.
JPToys has updated the official list again and new things have been added:
http://jptoys.com/index.php/2018/02/18/618-full-checklist-of-mattel-s-line

There is a new subline called "Destructasaurus", no images for now but a list of what to expect:
Dilophosaurus (W1 - FTD10)
Dimetrodon (W1 - FTD11)
Pteranodon (W1 - FTD12)
Velociraptor (W1 - FTD13)
Stygimoloch (W3 - FVW29)

And this brings me to the bad news, some sublimes are going to be exclusive to some retailers, the "Destructasaurus" being a Toys´R Us exclusive.
The Battle damage will be a Walmart exclusive sub-line.

Now you might think, well, is not like most of the Dinos on those lines don't have a counterpart in the regular line, so is not a big deal.

The BIG deal is that the Legacy Collection will be a Target exclusive. >:(
A FREAKING TARGET EXCLUSIVE >:( >:( >:(

Thank you Mattel for giving non-american collectors the middle finger with this. Now I will have to expend a lot just to get that TLW inspired Pachycephalosaurus and the only good looking Dilophosaurus.

I mean, ok, I don't really care that much for the battle damage toys since almost every figure has a counterpart in the regular line and also Toys ´R Us is present in a lot of countries so the Destructasaurs may be available in other countries.

But the Legacy collection? The one that could give us a lot of toys bases on the first movies? Mattel has made a serious mistake.

stargatedalek

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of exclusives are only exclusive in certain territories, so in places with no targets they may not be exclusives at all.

Flaffy

Whaaaaaat... doesn't Mattel want my money? Why make the legacy line, a series long anticipated and hyped by worldwide fans of the original movie(s), another darn Target exclusive?!  :-\
They better release it international, I most certainly don't want to go on yet another hunt for figures exclusive to the US like Battat Terra figures before other retailers got hold of them...
The other exclusives I don't really care for since we already have those species in the main line, but the Legacy Line? This is just stupid. Really hope they distribute them to international sources where Targets don't exist. (same applies to the Walmart exclusives)
Considering how certain Walmart exclusives (blind pack and mini dino pack) from the previous line made their way to local Hong Kong toys r rus and retailers, I have faith that Mattel will do the same, but you never know...

Faelrin

I do have Target stores in my area, but I'm honestly worried about the scalpers buying everything up, because of these being store exclusives (hopefully not). I hope those without Target, etc, have a way to access these too, without having to pay an arm and a leg online for them.

They straight-up used the information for the Dimorphodon from ARK Survival Evolved in that last video. I'm screaming.

Well it is the first result when you search up "Dimorphodon" on google.
