Thanks all.
And sorry for my 'Darker tones' ...  ;)

And the new updated look of the 'Chinese Shelf' :

Nice collection! There really are some great quality figures around at the moment.

I notice that you had to take action to keep that Dilophosaurus in place, mine has standing issues as well and has a twist tie on that leg.

Shonisaurus

Nice BrontoScorpio collection, I especially like your PNSO diabloceratops, it's a pretty cool resin dinosaur.

Yes,

I tried several other, less noticeable methods, for fixing this -

but eventually had to resort to this crude action.

All my I-Toys' dinos have issues with balance and wrapping - among other reasons why I won't be ordering any others from this line.

The Dilophosaurus however, is very nicely designed, so as the Ceratosaurus -

so I keep them on the shelf for now - at least until some new expected MNSOs push them out ...

A large Bundle of packages from Japan have been waiting for me for to have the time to take notice.
Some took longer than other, some even endured the devastating typhoon jebi -
But, they're all here now :

The two big and impressive ones are the 'BANDAI super dinosaur series soft vinyl' ( バンダイ   超恐竜シリーズ  ソフビ ) .
Look how big this Stegosaurus is :

And now compared to some more known samples of the species ( Schleich, Papo, Kinto ) :

There is a 3rd dinosaur in this set ( other than the Steg and T-rex ) - A large Triceratops :

As for the smaller ones :

There are too many individual different brands here for me to describe them all.
I'll address few samples :
Kaiyodo Capsule Q Museum dinosaur excavation record Triceratops ( 海洋堂カプセルQミュージアム 恐竜発掘記 トリケラトプス ).
Including the rare Green version :

A rather misterious looking like Sauropod, named 'Mokele Mbembe' ( モケレ・ムベンベ ), no. 8 from the MEDICOM TOY 'Great Mystery Museum' ( 大神秘博物館 ) DX Set :

The Illustration on the box looks like a relative of 'Nessie' :

The complete set on the Information sheet :

And the Misterious looking Box :

It surely be an Interesting museum ....

Next, are my two ONLY 'jurassic world fallen kingdom' figures .

Sometimes I am proud of myself not for things I bought - but for things I was able to stop myself on time not to buy.
( The list is long : Beasts of the Mesozoic, any JW-FK action figure, PNSO Large soft Vinyls, Rebor, Kaiyodo Soft 2018 T-rex, Vitae Giganotosaurus, an on and on ... :)

But, anyway, these two are real jems for the JWFK - so I had to get them :

- Sega Jurassic World / kingdom of fire Mosasaurus premium figure ( セガ  ジュラシック・ワールド/炎の王国 モササウルス プレミアムフィギュア ).
- Takara Tomy Arts Jurassic World Kingdom of Fire stand figure collection Mosasaurus ( タカラトミーアーツ ジュラシック・ワールド 炎の王国 スタンドフィギュアコレクション  モササウルス )

Here they are, along side the two KAIYODO mosasaurs ( Dinotales 3 & DINOLAND 100mm ) :

Long I have been searching for the 2 rarest  Museum exclusive color versions of the Set :

Favorite dinosaur collection Tyrannosaurus (Special Color Version by Takashi Oda ) :

Also, another conclusion of a  long search :
Kaiyodo DINOLAND 100mm Resin painted Velociraptor :

I think Dollars for weight it is probably my most expensive figure  - shown here along side it's bigger friend -

The Kaiodo DINOLAND 1/35 Mongolian Velociraptor ( モンゴリアン  ヴェロキラプトル ) :

These two are amongst my favorits :
They almost look cunning - the way they hold their hands ready while plotting some selfish scheme or dubious action.
This tiny Inquisitive and dromaeosaur looks like the whily kyote while working on a solution or a shrewd plan -
and all along is giving us a mischiever half smile and a wink.

Halichoeres

Lots of treasures in that box! I don't suppose you'd be able to furnish a shot of the little mammal that the Kaiyodo Velociraptor is hunting?

But, much easier is to search another specimen on the net :

Well, your knowledge is obviously supperior to mine -
I wasn't even aware of this name - But the picture looks close enough :

I'm not sure there is a recollection to what specific animal, if any,  Shinobu Matsumura was referring to.
I don't have the original box - and anyway it would have been written in Japanese ...

postsaurischian

:D  Astonishing aquisitions! Gems from the past. I'm still missing the Dinoland 100mm Mosasaurus and Velociraptor >:( ;D .

Long I have been searching for the 2 rarest  Museum exclusive color versions of the Set :
Favorite dinosaur collection Tyrannosaurus (Special Color Version by Takashi Oda ) :

The brown version wasn't a museum exclusive. It was officially sold through Favorite's website.
It came in an acrylic display case, no blister (just like the camouflage coloured  Triceratops).

Thanks.
Indeed those two 100mm are hard to find.
There is also one, appearing on the Catalog, that I have never seen and couldn't even locate a single picture on the web -
A plesiosaur - Do you have a clue as of the word written under the Japanese name 'plesiosaur' ? :

Regarding the two T-rexes ( Black & Spotted ) -
I remember seeing it inside this 'Aquarium' shaped box once or twice - wasn't sure until now it was the original box.
I thought the spotted was sold as an EXPO item and the Black at the Museum -
But I no longer remember - maybe I'll look it up again...

I can send my Japanese friend a question. I haven't seen this one either.

The black one was sold in a blister at the museum and the spotted one I bought myself from Favorite's page back then ;) .

Last Japanese packages for now  - This time from SEGA :

1st is Vol. 2 of the SEGA Vignetteum Dino Dioramas ( セガ 恐竜  ヴィネッティアム ) :

1. Tyrannosaurus with Riotodon
2. Saichania with Turtle Gamera
3. Pteranodon Flying Over Water

Both Vol. 1 & 2 were made by Hirokazu Tokugawa and Takeuchi Shinzen.
I think Vol. 2 was issued for the 2006 EXPO - but I'm not sure :

You can have a better look at CLAWMARK Toys of the Individual figures :

Next is the incredibly rare full set Vol. 1 & 2 of the Sega dinosaur king action figure ( セガ  恐竜キング  アクションフィギュア ) :

These are High quality made, beautifully coloured with bright and shining colors set of 12 figures from the 'Dinosaur king' game.
At first glanse they resemble the 'Sega Sunrise DINOSAUR KING Playmates Toys' - but, as you can see - These are bigger and better :

A long search came to an end today - with the postman  arrival :
Favorite Archaeopteryx ( 1/1 or 1/2 ?? ) Polyresin Desktop model :

It's a DISCONTINUED ITEM which is one of the 3 models, known as the 'Flavio' Models :

From some reason, It seams this model was discontinued way before the other two ( Scipionyx & Compsognathus  ) - which are still retail available in some places.

Maybe they had some technical problems with the extravagant feathered tail ...  :

In any case - I find this figure to be the most impressive of the three -
Look at fine details of the feathers

( This is a bigger, much high resolution pic - Open it in a new window 'Refresh' and magnify )

As being impressive as it is - it prooved to be a bit too big to be displayed along the other Favorite Desktop models.
I think it could be considered as a STATUE more than as a MODEL.
What do you think ?

Here it is with close family member :

And here it is towering in audacity over the king himself :

postsaurischian

:) That is a nice Archaeopteryx model!
I was always wondering why they gave it that long metal rod, so the feet do not touch the ground.
But I think someone who works with metal could easily change that.

BrontoScorpio

#139
Well, It's obvious those legs can not hold  nor support the weight of this statue.
so - this metal rod is Inevitable.

The rod itself is pretty thick.
At the top it is attached deep inside the Archaeopteryx -
and at the bottom it has a fine screw that drills inside the wooden base ( can easily be 'unscrewed' ) -
so, in any case - you could only shorten it in the middle - and then attach the two parts -
and still hope your attachment will be able to support the 1.5 kg statue ...

As for why is it that high :
Maybe to better emphasize the structure of the feet - how closely they resembles those of birds from all sides - even from the bottom -
and to generally allows you a more convenient look from the bottom of the fine inner details of the statue.
I especially like those 'Raptor' claws that are hidden inwards, covered with feathers.

judge for yourself :
