Aside from the over exaggerated size advantage over a T.rex, I swear they got the whole Giga physical reconstruction all wrong, it should be way slender then the T.rex and shorter legs too.

With those spikes and barrel chest, it almost feels like it should be fighting King Ghidorah rather than King Tyrant Lizard.

bone crusher

Not to mention the overly pointy mouth, this abomination doesn't even remotely resemble a true Gigantosaurus. Collin is taking way too much creative liberty with this guy all just for the sake of making it stands out from the Rex?

While the Giga's design is certainly flawed, it also doesn't help that Rexy isn't as massive as she could/should be in comparison, since she's still a 90s-era Tyrannosaurus design. If she had the heft of contemporary reconstructions the Giga would look more appropriate.

Definitely true! It's like they skipped all the gastralia, replaced that barrel ribcage of a true T.rex with an Allosaurus' ribcage lol. They probably think the more athletic, long legged and slim a T.rex looks the better, which is totally absurd when the real animal proportion is so much bulkier, stockier which stands out from every other mega theropod.

JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION---DeWanda Wise commented on her pilot character, Kayla, "There's nothing like being dropped into a space to go, like, 'Got it. I know how to walk now'. This is Kayla's world. She's fresh out of the Air Force and her main thing is flying cargo: mostly dinosaur stuff, but it could be anything. If you are even a little bit of an animal lover, even a smidge, it's just remarkable. I was shown the Lystrosaurus early and named him Leonard. I would like to take him home. It's honestly wildly overwhelming, how much affection you can feel for this thing that you know logically is not real."

Faelrin

Leonard the Lystrosaurus. I like the sound of that. Adorable. And honestly in her shoes I would probably feel the same with wanting to take it home, lol. Closest I can get to that is either the inevitable Mattel figure, or my little guys in Ark. Honestly one of the creatures I'm most excited to see more of ever since it was teased a while back.

Is that a velvet worm in the one picture they used as color reference? Wouldn't have expected to see that as possible inspiration, even if wasn't used in the end.

Naw, gecko I think.

It's like they literally researched the oldest and most out of date Giga materials judging from that pic. And even then the final render still looked remotely scientific lol.

The one in the lower left? That's a lizard, looks to be a flat-headed rock agama.

So I bumped into some spoilers from Reddit for the ending fight.
Spoiler
Basically Giganotosaurus dominates Rexy for the entire fight with the latter having no upper hands whatsoever, as Rexy is about to be killed by the Giga, Therizinosaurus randomly shows up and prevented the killing blow. Rexy finally manages to push the Giga towards Therizino's claws which impaled Giga and killed it off. I mean FFS it's JW ending all over again, Rexy needed help from another dino AGAIN! She is now officially a plot device, a tool to make the new villain shine, a sacrifice, a stepping stone, whatever you call it, absolutely pathetic Trevorrow! A T.rex is scientifically, physically more powerful, heavier and more robust than a Giganotosaurus it's almost a known fact in the entire paleontology, what's wrong with just sticking to that fact alone and give Rexy the victory? Not to mention it's her last act in the trilogy, give her a clean kill against another giant theropod by herself? You even said she's your superhero dino so why not redeem that title? Collin Trevorrow is such a hypocrite it's disgusting.

Yeah I'm skipping this god damn movie for sure, the disrespect towards Rexy is unreal, but sure all the kids would love it and start spewing nonsense about

how easily Giga can slaughter a T.rex

while the box office racks in billions. Unless they miraculously change the ending or this leak turns out utter fake I think I'm done with the franchise for good, at least till a more competent director takes over. Seriously, screw Trevorrow. /rant

Stegotyranno420

Its just a movie, pal. No need to "screw" Trevorrow. What ever that means.

OMG
Spoiler
Not AGAIN .... A tyrannosaurus is absolutely capable of crushing a giga, man, did you have a look at those banana teeth in that reinforced skull? It did crash bones and flesh without any problem. And what is absolutely imposible is Therizinosaurus to impale something to death with those claws. It's a dinosaur, not Wolverine. Probably because of frog DNA or being genetically modified -with adamantium- (global excuse for everything in this franchise).
This is getting funnier by the moment.

Amazing how high ones blood pressure can rise from something as simple as a nonconfirmed Reddit post. I believe nothing til I see it on screen.

That said fighting dinos sell toys and merch to kids..how has this ever changed?

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi Sorry I meant the one in the top above the "Devil" color concept. Should have been more specific earlier.

Unfortunately I do think that reddit leak is legit. Lots of stuff in the trailer and now even toy sets are beginning to help confirm the details. Edit: Worth also mentioning that reddit leak was based of an early screening, which are done to test an audience to gather feedback and make last minute changes if needed. So I guess until the movie is released, we can still take this with a grain of salt. Nonetheless it probably doesn't hurt being warned ahead of time, in case it's not changed.

Spoiler
And regarding that ending it does sound ridiculous. While I don't mind the Therizinosaurus getting involved, especially as I could imagine such a large herbivore being just as territorial and dangerous as our modern day megafauna, even more so when it is regarding predators, it's more the fact this is a rehash of the JW ending fight, with the T. rex depending on another animal to save it (like the Mosasaurus prior), versus like a free for all between all three. I would have liked for something more original. Though to be frank, I feel a lot of the plot could be summed up that way, such as the stuff with the Atrociraptor scenes, which the new toy set gives more credence too, which is just the dumb Indoraptor laser plot point all over again. It also doesn't do the Giganotosaurus any favors either. I can only see people getting angry at it and hating it because of poor writing, like what happened with the Spinosaurus earlier, even though the T. rex isn't going to be killed, which of course people already did with the prior prologue sequence because the one in that was.

Though despite my qualms, I do at least want to see it to applaud them for the mostly decent feathered animals, as this should help be a big push in the right direction for the public hopefully, never mind that I also want to see the original cast back together again. At the same time I worry poor writing may hinder that, such as with the new Pyroraptor even more so.

Yes, I do apologize for my inappropriate use of wording, I will tone it down now. As for the leaker I believe it's more accurate than not judging from how much the person has got it right before trailer 1 aired. I do hope it's wrong tho. Anyway it's just a dumb money grab Hollywood flick after all, I shouldn't be too emotionally invested in it as some of you said, oh well can't always get what you wanted in life.

stargatedalek

Honestly? Ya'll are seriously overestimating how strong Tyrannosaurus was. It has frankly very little in way of "upper hands" against any other large theropod.

And it would be horribly boring and uninteresting of Tyrannosaurus just won everything. Tyrannosaurus ex machina was already how the first movie ended, and repetition is uninteresting.
