Wow, funding has gone up about $10,000 since last night! Let's hope this keeps moving. Also, it sounds like David was open to extending the Kickstarter via BackerKit. However, my understanding is only previous backers can participate in that - right?
Not sure what you mean, but from what I understand,
Backerkit survey = only available to Kickstarter backers for this campaign.
Backerkit store = available to everyone, but prices are higher.
I assume David means that both can contribute to further kickstarter goals.

Yeah, David's comment didn't really make sense to me, either - I tried to find it again but was unable. But basically he said "extend with BackerKit" - did anyone else see that comment?

I guess we'll need to wait to learn more.

Edit: I am really happy Psittacosaurus has been funded too. Hopefully Medusaceratops can be unlocked too, although it needs like $10,000 more.

I'm sure he's said variations of it, but that wasn't the one I read. Unless I am crazy, he specifically said "extend" and that got my hopes up.

tanystropheus

Why is there no 1/18th scale Protoceratops for those who don't collect dromaeosaurs? It would be less than $20, I would imagine.

I believe David has said somewhere that this is a plan for the future.

Awesome, I would love to see some smaller and basal ceratopsians juxtaposed in scale with the larger ceratopsians!  :)

Interesting article. I guess I am surprised to hear that's he's a fan of the Miyazaki films, and music from the Final Fantasy series (which I love both of those myself).

And looks like I need to go to that Toy Con since it'll be within driving distance for me. I still remember my trip to Jersey Fest the one year to see the prototypes for the raptors in person. It was great.

Nothing to be surprised about there. Miyazaki's films are pure treasure.

I like how David is upfront about how different the ceratopsian Kickstarter has been and how he's still learning from his experiences. Sounds like he's anything but arrogant or a prima donna (the toy industry is infested with people who are).

I stopped collecting McFarlane products long before the Dragons series came out, but I was always very impressed by how beautifully sculpted and detailed they were. His Predator figures are similarly impressive.

$4000 away from Medusa! He can definitely be funded before the KS ends.

Also, Torosaurus package art:

LeapingLaelaps

Oh dear, now that package art is making me want to get two Toro's and have them posed fighting each other.
Not sure my wallet is a fan of that idea though ::)

I'm so happy to see that Medusaceratops has been unlocked. I was hoping it could. Glad we made it there in time. I also love that Torosaurus artwork. Really awesome. Something about the way this one was done reminds me of older paleoart, like you'd see in books from early 90's or late 80's, but like more accurate, and without the extreme shrinkwrapping.

I also boosted my pledge up to $288 to add on all three post card sets. I really do want them and I would rather save any later spending for figures, especially since I know I can afford this amount for now.

ZoPteryx

Awesome that we managed to get Medusaceratops unlocked, I was starting to have my doubts!  :o  Fingers crossed for a last minute Regaliceratops.  ;D

Pics of the Pentaceratops prototype were shared in an update earlier.  It's a beast!

Are you charged immediately after the Kickstarter ends? Or are you charged when the backerkit surveys are collected and processed?

When it ends. If the card is incorrect/canceled or has insufficient funds you'll get a notice that it needs to be fixed.

Edit: In the case of the backerkit survey's when they are locked down if you added anything else on you would be charged then too.
