Good gravy, that Rhamphorhynchus is hideous! Why is it Mattel can't produce a good pterosaur?

...but it looks better than Tyco's version  8)

I like the Rhamphorynchus, it's definitely cartoony but there is nothing inherently wrong with that.

Vidusaurus

The Monolophosaurus is the only one of the confirmed new releases I'm really excited for. I'll definitely pick up the Coelurus if I see it but it's very generic and obviously not feathered, but it's the best we've got until legitimate toy companies start paying attention to small dinosaurs that aren't Velociraptor or Archaeopteryx. The Styracosaurus isn't bad either, but it suffers from being the second-best Styracosaurus released this year, so I'll have to pass for now. Dracorex Juvenile Stygimoloch is a very tentative maybe. Other than that the new toys aren't really that exciting. Rhamphorhynchus and Tapejara Tupandactylus should have been the most exciting new releases but their god-awful sculpts let them down, while the repaints don't have a lot of value.

It really is a shame that the SC T. rex isn't repainted. Hasbro may have botched JW, but at least with Transformers, they repaint their Optimus Prime toys instead of rereleasing the exact same ones.

I think it's just a general re-branding because it's no longer associated with a particular movie. The intention isn't to be the Colossal rex in a new line, but rather just to have it continue to be available despite the entire line being changed/replaced.

Going forward, I am going to have to become more selective about the JW toys that I pick up...
It's almost as if their 2019 offerings are approximating the Hasbro/Kenner style...

I really like that Plesiosaurus. I've been curious about how that one would look ever since I first spotted it on brickseek a while back. I can't wait to get that one as a pal for my Mosasaurusx3.

Anyways, with all these figures confirmed, I really hope there will still be a Parasaurolophus, Indominus rex, and a green/male/buck/bull rex. I can't wait for pics of the Brachiosaurus and Amargasaurus too.

That plesiosaurus is a beauty... for a JW toy. I had low expectations for this one, since the general public's image of long neck plesiosaurs are hunch-back, snake necked monsters with a theropod-esque head.
Maybe I'll end up picking up the Mosasaurus as well to accompany him.

I dont care for the others though. The pteranodon is too chaos-effect-y for me, the dracorex is a direct downgrade to the attack pack one paint wise, and I'm really tired of local toy shops stocking heaps of the colossal rex instead of the mosasaur, or better yet Wave 2-3 figures.

The Pteranodon, wow! You know, as someone who really liked the Chaos Effect line, I absolutely don't mind some wacky colours :p

reminds me of the DR Quetz that was highly praised for it's paint job.

Speaking of Quetzalcoatlus, there are rumors that there is going to be one, but again, JUST RUMORS

Okay I kind of failed to notice this when I first saw that Pteranodon, but is it just me or do those legs seem to have articulation along with the wings? Definitely might be worth picking up for me if that is the case.

Edit: So according to this: https://jurassicoutpost.com/first-look-at-2019-jurassic-world-dino-rivals-toy-line-from-mattel/ the Dual Attack listings I found a bit back are possibly just new Action Attack's using a new name, and maybe new gimmicks, for the new sculpts at least (since the Stegosaurus and Suchomimus were part of the Action Attack assortment from this year). Also the Nasutoceratops listing seems to be broken now. If so I wonder if that means the Allosaurus and Triceratops will be larger then their Roarivores counterparts?

Also here's an updated (new for 2019) species list:

  • Amargasaurus (Confirmed)
  • Brachiosaurus (Confirmed)
  • Coelurus (Amazon listing)
  • Concavenator (Amazon listing)
  • Dracorex (Amazon listing)
  • Indominus rex (rumored?)
  • Nasutoceratops (Amazon listing, though broken for now)
  • Parasaurolophus (rumored?)
  • Plesiosaurus (Battle Damage Walmart listing, found on brickseek)
  • Quetzalcoatlus (rumored?)
  • Rhamphorhynchus (Amazon listing)
  • Styracosaurus (Confirmed and leaked)
  • Tapejara?/Tupandactylus? (leaked)
  • Therizinosaurus (leaked/canceled)

Really liking these new figures!

Plesiosaurus is cool (my Mosasaurus needs a more substantial snack than Dimorphodon), and the Coelurus is a must-have. Ramphorynchus is a welcome addition and looks like it will fit in with the Dimorphodon just fine. The Dracorex is great, and I'm happy that they made an all original sculpt for it (Ramph too), because they probably could have gotten away with just putting a new head on the Stygimoloch. My main conflict: I like the colors on the Attack Pack Dracorex more, but the other Dracorex comes with an ATV!

Can't wait to see Amarga and Brach. Mattel's second wave is reminding me of the effort Kenner put into its JP Series 2 toys, except they actually exceed it. That Brachiosaurus and Amarga silhouette!!

Quite a list. Even more stock that will not be appearing on the shelves of retailers here in Australia, much as I'd like that Plesiosaur. Shouldn't really look in on the Mattel thread, just makes me annoyed.
