Paleofiguras just announced the launch of a new series of PVC prehistoric animal figures by MENG, a Chinese company who usually produces scale replicas of military vehicles. Their first release is this gorgeous 1/72 Sinoceratops. Turns out its design was supervised by paleontologists.

It's scheduled to be released next month. I asked Paleofiguras about the price and they told me it will cost ¥59 (around 8 USD) in China. They also told me it will surely be available from AliExpress, as that company's figures are apparently sold there. The series logo has a Yutyrannus skull on it, so I wouldn't be surprised if they released a Yutyrannus figure sometime soon as well.

Would it be possible to add it to the site? Here's the company logo in case it's needed:

Very nice recon of Sinoceratops! It's one of my favourite dinosaur genus so I definitely will be picking this up.

Too bad it's in such a small scale though. Would've liked if it was 1/35. I'm guessing the 1/72 scale was chosen as it's the same scale they do their vehicles in?

That's a beautiful model!

The fact that these are being launched by an established brand bodes well; presumably they'll have experience with the technical and marketing aspects, where I think some upstart companies stumble. That's a very nice first offering.

We have some singletons on there already. That said, I'll probably hold off until it's actually available, since we also have some things on there (e.g., Edel) that were never released and probably never will be.

I added the PNSO Saurophaganax, and Haolonggood Daspletosaurus and Pachyrhinosaurus statue things that were available on Aliexpress. At some point I've got to go and update the names for some of the older figures (Nasutoceratops, etc), since Happy Hen Toys has them listed in this manner, that weren't on the Amazon pages, except for some of the more recent ones.

I'll be adding Cyberzoic stuff here in a moment. I'll be sticking with the initial campaign's roster (which I have no doubts will be funded in time), and then add stretch goal stuff as they get funded. Only the Allosaurus, Smilodon, and Arctic Dragon will get images for now, until the other stuff gets high res pics on the fb page of the finished prototypes.

As far as that Sinoceratops goes, I'll wait until it is available, unless it is up for pre-order already. Edit: I just saw they have more on the way.

Edit: Saw that you added the Cyberzoic Allosaurus already. Its colors weren't inspired by the green iguana, I think you mistaked it for the BotM A. fragilis.

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator Oh do you know which animal the Cyberzoic version is based on then? I tried digging on both FB and instagram when the updated concept art for it dropped, but couldn't find anything then what the old BotM version concept art was based on.

Edit: David said he would be adding image galleries for the prototypes that don't have them, so just need to be patient until those are out, before I add pics for the armors and humans.

I'll be adding the Meng Sinoceratops later, maybe tomorrow. Still behind on a lot of other figures (Takara Tomy, Schleich, TNG blue and white quetz, etc). Interest just hasn't been there much as of late unfortunately, so it's why I've been slow to get these ones up earlier today.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Nope. I looked at the Facebook & Instagram posts in which the color scheme concept was revealed (for this Cyberzoic version) too, but David didn't mention a specific animal he based the design on.

And as of right now, we are yet to see the concept color scheme for the BotM A. jimmadseni. It's the only one that's missing, since the color schemes for both Cyberzoic and BotM A. fragilis have been revealed, and also the Cyberzoic A. jimmadseni.

Faelrin

I'll have to ask him about that then, maybe when he posts the image gallery for it. I think that's good information to have.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin I asked David about the inspiration behind the Cyberzoic A. jimmadseni's color scheme and he said it comes from the red iguana.

Faelrin

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator I saw that. Google shows it's a color morph of the Green Iguana. Is that correct?

I also added the Nanmu White Queen & Blood Knight sets. Going to be adding the Takara Tomy stuff next that I've been behind on and then going from there as well.

So aside from the remaining 2023 Takara Tomy Arts things I'm behind on adding still, I got the rest up now. Just working on getting images added. I'll get the rest of the Takara Tomy things added tomorrow I guess.

Is there anything anyone would like me to add tonight or are folks fine with waiting? Kind of lost interest atm sorry.

Thanks for getting those all updated! Takara Tomy is almost as hard to keep up with as Mattel.

Since we are coming up on it, I've added the Achillobator stretch goal set stuff. I have pics I need to add, and other information here and there, but I'll have to do that after I get back from the store.

Added the 2024 Mattel Jurassic stuff. Most missing images, because they are missing codes. Will add those once available.

Next on the to do list (whenever I feel like getting to it):

-2023 Qualia
-2024 Schleich (and any other missing figures from previous years)
-2023 remaning Takara Tomy stuff
-Deiner eraser things (if anyone has pics of these to contribute that would be great)
-missing Walking with Dinosaurs movie toys
-Meng Sinoceratops, etc

And anything else I might be forgetting atm.

Crackington

Hi Faelrin, thanks for coordinating getting the new and missing photos added.

I've sent some snaps of those Deiners I came across recently and some missing oldies I have. Hopefully they will be usable.

Faelrin

avatar_Crackington @Crackington Thanks again for the help with those. I'll try to get them up sometime later today. Feeling a little sleep deprived from a combination of insomnia and dad waking me up from making lunch (motel living fyi). Still need to add the Cyberzoic Deinonychus, etc as well.

Added the Cyberzoic Deinonychus set stuff. Might add the Dryptosaurus set next. Only like $20k away from it anyways.

As far as the Diener figures go, is this a complete list? I grabbed the info from retroerasers and toyanimalwiki. I've also done quite a bit of a digging on ebay.

-Ankylosaurus
-Brontosaurus
-Dimetrodon
-Edaphosaurus
-Eryops
-Glyptodon
-Hadrosaurus
-Megatherium
-Mastodon
-Plateosaurus
-Pteranodon
-Smilodon
-Stegosaurus
-Triceratops
-Tyrannosaurus
-1982 What Where & When 6 pack including Pteranodon, Stegosaurus, Dimetrodon, Ankylosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, and Triceratops

The only ones I haven't seen in any ebay listings recently are the Hadrosaurus, Mastodon, and Megatherium I think. The Brontosaurus, Eryops, Edaphosaurus, Glyptodon, Plateosaurus, and Smilodon seem pretty uncommon, if not rare, while the above six (included in the pack) seem to be the most common (at least judging from the current bulk of listings at this time).
