One thing I've noticed however, I can't seem to find their Coccosteus. Has that model been discontinued?

Hmm, possibly. I guess I'd recommend emailing them directly. I got mine over a year ago, but I only posted about it in my collection thread. Didn't think to post about it here until now.

And yeah, that Dicranurus is pretty sweet. Maybe better than the Masterpiece prototype from some years back that never saw the light of day.

I have learned that there was a sort of mutated Hybodus in the DinoFroz line.

Seriously, what even is that. It looks like one of those predasaurs.

Similar concept, just a different company.

At least the retired Safari Ltd one isn't the only Hybodus now? Right, haha?

Never was. Neko works made one as well...

avatar_SBell @SBell Thanks for the correction. That's good to hear.

Safe to say it is this one correct?

That is correct, although they come unpainted.

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy HLJ almost never keeps these in stock. It seems like once enough orders accumulate, they get in a shipment from Neko Works. I ordered mine when out of stock and it showed up after a few months.

Doh! And here I was naively waiting for it to get back in stock for the past few years.
Thanks for the tip!

I don't like to dash a hope, but I think the Shark Attack series by Masato Inoue is discontinued.
The first wave (13 figures) was released in February 2004, the second (7 figures) in August 2009 (that's when I got mine).
Then there was only one more figure released in March 2011. Since then nothing happened except for a few re-releases of the two extinct species,
maybe as you say due to customers' demand, but I haven't heard anything new for years now.
I'm still missing 5 figures of the set and I'd be glad if you were right.

Halichoeres

Oh no! Better to dash hope than falsely raise it  :-\ . I ordered the Hybodus and Stethacanthus twice, once in 2015, and then again in 2018 because I had sent the first set to a forum member to be painted and then they disappeared. I don't know if any more of these have been cast since 2018, but I guess it's worth a shot?

HLJ doesn't charge you until the items are actually going to ship, so it's always worth a shot placing an order.

Honestly other then that Hybodus and I'm seeing a Stenthacanthus now that avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres mentioned, how many others of these were made (at least those that are prehistoric fish)? I mean I can live with the Safari Ltd Prehistoric Sharks set I have (and the PNSO Helicoprion I want to get at some point this year), but I am curious to see if and what these others may look like as well? The Hybodus looks quite good (in my ignorance of fish anatomy).

Edit: Also avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Sorry to hear some of your models got stolen essentially (or were they lost in the mail?). You are such a decent person, especially around these parts, that it is quite shocking to see someone had done that to you, let alone around here. Assuming that is what happened all those years ago. That was just about a year from before I joined here too.

Those are the only prehistoric sharks in the series, if that's what you mean. The rest are modern--I also have a couple Starry smooth hound sharks, and a greenland shark. Even when I got them, ones like the angel shark and cookiecutter were already discontinued permanently.

Faelrin

avatar_SBell @SBell Thanks for the information. That cleared it up for me.
