Rebor updated their cover photo on Facebook with these two:

Carnotaurus rex "Crimson King Requiem"
Ekrixinatosaurus novasi  "Epitaph"

As if their last Carnotaurus wasn't Disney enough; but, I'm definitely interested. I loved that movie as a kid. Now that they're doing children's films, I'm wondering how long until we get an "Apatosaurus parumpede" (good on you who can figure that one out). ;)

Wait, would this be the first ever Ekrixinatosaurus to be made by someone?

David Krentz has a model on his shapeways page, if that counts:

If they're going to be making a Disney Dinosaur based Carnotaurus, then I hope we'll get some Iguanodon's as well. Granted Papo's is pretty close (at least in coloration). I really do like they went out of their way to give it the species name rex, since the Carnotaurus in that film was definitely like a strange hybrid between Carnotaurus and Tyrannosaurus.

Edit: I've never heard of that other genus before though, so that's interesting that they are doing a figure for that one.

Love how they're named after King Crimson songs.

It's also a reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Yes, which are also King Crimson references in and of themself. But I see three Crimson song titles in these names, "(In the Court of the) Crimson King," "Epitaph," and "Requiem".

Yeah, I suppose that would count for me and most others. I'm pretty sure, though, that Shapeways models aren't counted for the forum's Unique Species List.

Carnotaurus is an obvious pass for me, but I'm conflicted in regards to Ekrixinatosaurus. On one hand, it's obviously the same sculpt as Carno (except for the horns) and the arms are completely wrong, however this is also easily the most ambitious species that REBOR has ever made.

Shonisaurus

Well, I thought wrongly (I don't understand paleontology) that the new carnotaurus was more scientific. I had not realized that it is based on the Disney movie. But I repeat again it seems an improvement over the previous one. On the other hand, will the carnotaurus and Rebor's ekrixinatosaurus be made of PVC or vinyl? Does anyone know what material they will be made of?

The skeleton on the ride the movie's based on is also a weird hybrid.

The arms were a dead giveaway.  Carnotaurus's arms are so reduced that the animal doesn't even technically have elbows.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

:o  If that counts?! Of course a figure by one of the greatest Dinosaur sculptors does count.
But it should be mentioned that this is not an Ekrixinatosaurus, it's just the Carnotaurus with removed horns.
Being a huge King Crimson fan I can't see any connection with these two beautiful tunes, but I don't care about REBOR's strange naming.

Shonisaurus

I understand that the Ekrixinatosaurus for its very incomplete remains, its anatomical reconstruction is merely speculative as is the majority of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals in general whose remains are very fragmentary and even those whose remains are complete we can not exactly as it was in the In fact, except for the mammoth primigenius and the coelodonta antiquitatis and in the dinosaurs the archeopteryx, microraptor, borealopelta, sinosauropteryx or edmontosaurus. The vast majority of them, if not the totality of prehistoric animals, unfortunately we will never know what their true appearance was like.

Honestly, the ekrixinatosaurus made by Rebor is great for me it is a very rare dinosaur and more in the toy / collecting market. On the other hand, the Rebor carnotaurus is an improvement over its previous version, it is more scientifically accurate in its interpretation of pop art I am happy with both figures, Rebor is doing a great job.

Shonisaurus

The material of Rebor's ekrixinatosaurus and carnotaurus is made of hollow vinyl or solid PVC sincerely I am an unconditional follower of solid PVC figures even if I don't "hollow" hollow vinyl figures, but honestly hollow vinyl figures seem more toys to me regardless of how great your figures are.

Flaffy

One thing I like about this Carnotaurus and the hornless carno is that the scales aren't overly repetitive and overbearing, in contrast to previous Rebor products.

On another note, I wonder if it's possible to tweak the sculpt so that it looks like this (image below), instead of 'hornless carno'.

Some bumpy keratin growths around the eyes and on the snout would fit this figure well.

Well, I dunno, I would actually prefer a nice, more realistic version of this:

SNIP

Yeah, you can tell that they did not care.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

avatar_CityRaptor @CityRaptor first of all, I think there should be a rule against sharing images of the Good Dinosaur. Secondly, I would be very much for Land Before Time figures in general.

I find myself similarly conflicted. I comfort myself with the knowledge that, given the long interval between the first images of a Rebor release and the product's actual release, there's a strong possibility of someone else beating them to the punch.

I've always wondered why there weren't more. Seems like they left money on the table with that one.
