I personally disagree with the idea that price is the main factor that determines whether something is in the toy figure or model/statue 'league'. I think material and recommended age are both more important factors when making this (ever-narrowing) distinction, although as they are correlated with price, I can understand why someone would reach the aforomentioned conclusion. In this regard, I think that...

- REBOR, Nanmu Studio and similar companies should not be in this poll (they already aren't, so good job on that)

- The PNSO Opthalmosaurus and Ceratosaurus should be included in the poll no question, as they are made of hollow vinyl and hence in the same league as, for example, the Papo Brachiosaurus. The articulated Megalodon should also be included as it's in the same size range as Stegosaurus, Eurhinosaurus, Dakosaurus and Ankylosaurus.

- In regards to the PNSO Amargasaurus, Mamenchisaurus, Giganotosaurus, Mosasaurus, Spinosaurus and Yangchuanosaurus+Chungkingosaurus; from my limited experience, I think they are sturdy enough to be toy figures, but the only one of these I own is the Mosasaurus, which I acknowledge is likely the one that has the least potentially fragile areas (although if they're all made out of PVC as PNSO state they are, I can't see how the others would be anymore fragile). Furthermore, on PNSO's Amazon page and the figure boxes (can't see any reason for them varying between figure), the manufacturer recommended age is 3+, implying that they are meant to be toys, even if they are very high-end ones. As a further point; if these figures shouldn't be included, should the new Papo Spinosaurus really be included either? Apart from it being slightly less expensive than the PNSO figures mentioned here usually are, I don't see any reason to include one but not the other (and that's not accounting for the fact that it's entirely possible Papo's figure may not be released this year).

Shonisaurus

I would have sincerely liked to vote for more figures. Obviously you could have voted for 15 or 20 more figures, you can choose the 10 best figures but voting for more options. It is the only thing that perhaps I miss in this thread. Voting 10 figures being many of the exceptional dinosaur figures this year 2019 knows me a bit metaphorically speaking.

So this thread has no validity now? I wouldn't be very glad if after setting the poll up this would be a useless thread, even if I forgot to include some figures, and create the preparation thread.

Also, in the Top 10 2018 Figures and hopefully this one as well, is it supposed that when the polls end, there will be an official YouTube video with the results like in 2017 and 2016?

I could also create a suggestion phase, like the one in the 2018 thread, and then, in early 2020, add the remaining figures and reset the poll one last time  ??? What do you all think?

It's now 2020!  avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator, will you be updating this thread so people can vote? :)

Concavenator

avatar_Sim @Sim At the time I'm very busy and I don't have the time to set such a poll up. Perhaps further on I will, but I would need a complete list with all the remaining figures.

Sim

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator, is voting still going to close in February?  I'd like to vote but I'm not going to if the votes are going to be reset again.  I wonder if now would be a good time to start the phase where people can suggest what to include in the poll?

Loon

Just submitted my votes, hopefully they count. Here they are in order:

Mattel Brachiosaurus
Safari Pteranodon
CollectA Elasmotherium
PNSO Ankylosaurus
PNSO Stegosaurus
Eofauna Deinotherium
Eofauna Giganotosaurus
Safari Carnotaurus
Eofauna Atlasaurus
Papo Spinosaurus

Avian

Great choices. Personally, though, I would exchange the Safari Pteranodon for the Safari Stegosaurus. But I could be biased, as I never liked the original Carnegie Stego, and was excited when the 2019 version came out.
You must understand the past before you can change the future.

I really like the Safari Stego, but I don't care much for the color scheme, and I just love the Safari Pteranodon. The PNSO's paint job is much more to my tastes (I love a Charles Knight inspired green Stegosaurus), even if the anatomy may be less accurate.

Killekor

I hope that the voting will be reset, because I'll like to modify my votes.

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

For now yes, however, someone can start the suggestion phase before.

Sim

Okay, I'll start the suggestion phase now! :D  I've done my best to go through all the posts in this thread and the missing figures I've found are as follows:

Mattel Plesiosaurus (Battle Damage)
PNSO Patton the megalodon (small)
PNSO Nick the Ceratosaurus
PNSO Brook the Ophthalmosaurus
PNSO Mamenchisaurus (dinosaurs museum)
PNSO Amargasaurus (dinosaurs museum)
PNSO Mosasaurus (dinosaurs museum)
PNSO Giganotosaurus (dinosaurs museum)
PNSO Spinosaurus (dinosaurs museum)
PNSO Chungkingosaurus (dinosaurs museum)
PNSO Yangchuanosaurus (dinosaurs museum)

I think avatar_Ravonium @Ravonium made a good point concerning how the dinosaurs museum figures are intended to be high-end toys.  Also, in previous top 10 figures of the year polls, nothing has been excluded, not even Sideshow.

So!  What figures that people want to vote for should be added to the poll?

Sim

I'm going to close the suggestion phase on Friday most likely, so if there's any figure you want added to the poll let me know before then!  Hopefully after that the poll can be changed to allow people to change their vote if they wish.
