I just read, that preordering helps, so i preordered my Copy at Dussmann in Berlin. There were no shippingcosts. Might be interesting for fellow german Forumusers. And its not Thalia.

Woohoo! That's exciting! I can't wait to read it myself!

avatar_Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews) @Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews) Have the publishers been in touch with you about your review copy for Dino Dad Reviews? If not I will remind them. :)

They haven't yet, sorry I didn't check back in with you about that before now.

avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum Has UCLan Publishing published any other dino/paleo books you'd recommend? I checked the website, but it doesn't seem to have a search bar.

No, it is quite a new publisher. Our book is their first children's picture book, I believe.

I added a few more store links to the list today, including Amazon Germany and Italy, where they are now available for preorder:

https://www.amazon.it/Plesiosaurs-Neck-Dr-Adam-Smith/dp/191297942X

Also, as posted in the Photos of us thread in the member's board, here's a photo of the coauthors with their copies (me on the left, Jonathan Emmett on the right)

Can you spot the 10 differences?

This activity sheet, based on a spread in The Plesiosaur's Neck, is also available to download from
Jonathan Emmett's site: https://jonathanemmett.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Poppys-Spot-The-Difference.pdf

Only 1 week to go until publication, but I hear that some people's pre-orders have already arrived, so they are in stock!

The first difference I noticed was a missing fish, which seems very on-brand.

If you noticed the missing fish before you noticed the plesiosaur's blatantly shrunk-down neck, then that's very you!  :))

Great! Thanks avatar_Libraraptor @Libraraptor, enjoy it! Where did you order? We must meet up in person some time and I can sign it. Or we can send it back and forth.

On Amazon.com it is being sold by a third party so they have limited stock. They started with 16 copies available and now they are down to 7. Maybe Amazon.com will sell it directly in the future, I don't know.

Ordered it quite simply at amazon Germany. Asked the local bookstore to order it for me, since I noemally don´t trust amazon very much due to their bloodcurdling interpretation of capitalism, but they could somehow not get it from the whole sale. My bookseller told me something about foreign licences and stuff like that but honestly I did not quite understand it.

At least you'll get your hands on it. And I think your sale has helped push the book up in the Hot New Releases in the dinosaurs category on Amazon.de, which will help others to discover it: https://www.amazon.de/gp/new-releases/books/5452820031/

Today is publication day!

I wrote another blog post about it here: https://plesiosauria.com/the-plesiosaurs-neck-book-out-now/
And so did Jonathan Emmett, here: https://jonathanemmett.com/home/books/picture-books/the-plesiosaurs-neck

Reviews have started to trickle in and they're all positive. The Plesiosaur's Neck is even The Independent's 'Children's book of the week'. If you've bought the book then please leave a rating and positive review on the store, it all helps!
