Pledged for two, the Yutyrannus and the Guanlong.
I just didn't want to wait 2 years for the wave 2 and 3.

While this is primarily a ceratopsian series update, of great interest and importance will be the fact David is going to Toy Con (in NJ) on November 13 and 14, and he'll be bringing the tyrannosaur series prototypes there. I really hope I can get my chance to see those in person, get pics of all, etc. Link for more details:

The Dryptosaurus gallery is up now. Part of me regrets not pledging for it.

avatar_suspsy @suspsy Thanks for the heads up on that. At least there's always a chance to add on more when the backerkit survey is sent out. I'm currently debating on what to add beyond my initial pledge (was luckily able to afford and justify adding on the Guanlong and Yutyrannus in addition to the WWD T. rex I pledged for). Gorgosaurus in particular interests me greatly, and has for years prior ever since I pledged for or added the Dromaeosaurus to my pledge, but I'm wondering if I should wait to pre-order it when it is closer to finishing its production, as it is a wave 3/late 2023 release. Of course the adult Tyrannosaurus also interests me greatly, and that's simultaneously a Wave 1 figure and also the most expensive of the bunch.

I'll get the gallery added to the op tomorrow morning. Really digging how this one looks though, and I like the way the eyes were painted. Almost looks like those bead eyes the Dino-Riders figures used. The Harris Hawk coloration really works well for this one, despite the half feathered and half scaly look it sports.

Also in case anyone is wondering, David confirmed in the kickstarter comments that Teratophoneus is next up to be painted, and I'm really looking forward to seeing that one done as well.

Edit: Thought it would be worth sharing what David mentioned on the Dryptosaurus coloration on the FB comments:

QuoteI do want to note that the feathers are looking a bit black, but it's actually a darker brown. I suppose it's a bit hard to capture that subtlety with photos.

Fembrogon

Ooh, I love it! I don't know quite why, but I've taken quite a shine to the Dryptosaurus and I'm excited to see this genus finally get some representation in the toy market.

Eocarcharia

That's pretty good, although I'm curious to see what the Cyberzoic version will look like too. That's probably a long ways off though.

stargatedalek

I just want to know if it will have a similar pairing colourscheme. I want two of the harris hawk one, but I also want the armor so I will definitely be getting that version too and I want to know before I order two of this one rather that one would be similar enough.

suspsy

Yeah, I reckon I will hold off for the Cyberzoic version instead.

I love Shannon Beaumont's artistry; it's always so expressive. I wish she'd do more dinosaur artwork in general.

I'm really trying hard to avoid this thread since we have to wait for a bit to have these figures in hand, but wow it is so so so hard not to click this thread....

Edit: Forgot to add my thoughts on the artwork.

Although I am sick of seeing Qianzhousaurus figures being produced (never thought I would), but this artwork is beautiful. I really can't wait for some of these figures in hand and to see the numerous photos of dioramas!

Faelrin

Yeah the art is lovely. Really dig the pose of it scratching itself, which I think I may have mentioned before. Can't remember. I'll get this added to the op later tonight. That just leaves the Tarbosaurus now that has wip art. I've been very impressed with how much has been accomplished in not only the short kickstarter period but everything preceding it.

Also thought I should relay this here in case folks are interested but David did say in a PM to me he would have the prototypes on display at Legion Con on the 14th/Sunday only. So anyone that can go and is interested in seeing those should be aware when planning a trip there. He also gave me permission to bring figures to get comparisons with (such as both my sealed Toyway WWD T. rex, and the most recent Mattel Jurassic World Legacy T. rex that I used as examples). Any particular requests/figures folks want comparisons of (assuming I have them) aside from the ones I want to do? This is hopefully of course if all the car troubles are sorted out by then (and there's money to spare).

I do wonder why David went for the upturned snout reconstruction for Eotyrannus as seen on Hartman's 2013 skeletal, instead of basing the figure on newer reconstructions like these:

By Dan Folkes, which apparently has something wrong due to unpublished info (Naish doesn't specify what's wrong with Folkes' skeletal however).

Hartman's by comparison:

And thanks avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin for your kind offer! I don't have any comparison requests personally, but I'm sure that other members who do have something in mind will greatly appreciate the offer. Do take plenty of photos though! ;D Would like to know how these look in more neutral lighting, especially the WWD rex, which looked rather dark in the studio shots.

Perhaps might be a good question to ask Raul who sculpted the skull I think that David worked from? Might be too late to correct at this point however.

Edit: Just saw this on his FB to grab the art for the op, and um what?
QuoteFor those in the tri-state New Jersey area, I'll be attending the Toy Con NJ/ Legions Con toy show on Nov. 13th-14th. In addition to having Beasts of the Mesozoic products on-hand for sale, I'll also have the Ceratopsians wave 3 on display. Most importantly though, this will be the only time that the Tyrannosaur Series prototypes will be on public display as well. Please note that the Tyrannosaur prototypes will only be at Legions Con on Sunday, Nov. 14th. Plus, there will also be a new exciting unveil for an upcoming figure.
I hope to see you there!

I wonder what that could be?  :o Unless this might be the Utahraptor mentioned earlier?

Shonisaurus

Beautiful figure and exceptional sculpture like all BoTM dinosaurs and figures. It's a really cool scientific interpretation of teratophoneus.
